WSTC graduates wrestle on WWE Smackdown

Allentown, PA – January 3, 2006 – The front office of WXW are very proud to announce that the WXW Tag Team Champions, The Dynamic Sensation and Supreme Lee Great, were chosen to compete in a match on WWE Smackdown, which will air on Friday, January 6.  The WXW Heavyweight Champion Puerto Rican Hurricane Havoc was also involved in a match at the Smackdown taping in Wilkes Barre, PA, as was WXW standout “Smooth” Tommy Suede.

Initially, WXW management announced that SLG and Suede would be given a WWE tryout at the Smackdown taping, but on the day of the taping, a request was made for Havoc and TDS to also attend the show.  In a surprise twist, TDS was teamed up with his WXW partner SLG and Rob Eckos, to face “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry on Smackdown.

WXW Champion Havoc was pitted against WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley, in a match that will air on WWE internet this Friday and Suede faced WWE Superstar Sylvan Grenier in a special dark match.  According to fans in attendance, the crowd reacted very favorably for each of the WXW star’s matches, even cheering loudly for Suede over Grenier.  It appears there were many WXW fans in attendence, who’ve seen WXW’s weekly show Rage TV, which airs in the Wilkes Barre area and on the internet via free netcast.

All four WXW stars who competed today are also graduates of the Wild Samoan Training Center, along with the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dave Batista and WWE Superstar Gene Snitsky.  While Batista is a permanent member of the WWE Smackdown roster, Snitsky is a member of the WWE Raw roster and would not normally be in attendance at a Smackdown show.  However, when he received word of the WXW stars’ matches, he chose to make the trip to Wilkes Barre, PA, to show his support for his friends and fellow Wild Samoan Training Center graduates.

Traditionally, Wild Samoan Training Center graduates have done very well in the wrestling business and many have gone on to perform with the WWE/WCW/ECW.  Other notable wrestlers and managers who have graduated the school are Yokozuna, Rikishi, Bam Bam Bigelow,  Billy Kidman, Chris Kanyon, The Great Samu, Rosie, Jamal, Mana, Tonga Kid, Sherri Martel, Virgil and ECW’s own Paul Heyman.

Much of the reason the Wild Samoan Training Center can offer graduates so many opportunities is due to the close ties that Head Trainer and wrestling legend Afa “The Wild Samoan” maintains with the WWE.  Along with WXW and the Wild Samoan Training Center, Afa is currently under contract with the WWE as a Talent Scout, helping to supply WWE with the best talent available.

The Wild Samoan Training Center and WXW would like to thank Vince McMahon and his  WWE staff for giving WXW’s four stars the opportunity of a lifetime.  Each match was an chance for the wrestlers to give everything they have to give, in the hopes of securing a WWE developmental contract and fulfilling their dreams.  WXW would also like to remind viewers to tune in to Rage TV, which airs every Saturday on Blue Ridge Cable TV, Sunday on Service Electric Cable TV and via a free netcast on www.wxwwrestling.com.
