This week is a very special week for the Wrestling Epicenter as we welcome 2 great guests in addition to our weekly partner in crime, Francine.
First, we welcome the only person I can think of that went from being a boy band member to being a punk rocker in the span of 5 years. He's a former WCW and WWE superstar. He's everybody's favorite little M'Fer, Shannon Moore.
Up next, we have a man who is not just the coolest, a man who is not just the best, we have a former Extreme Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Champion and that is Justin Credible.
And finally, Francine joins us to discuss her fear of clowns, the Hardcore Homecoming DVD sales being so high, and Chuck and James go a little crazy shooting on the young newcomers being in the business having a bigger ego than the true stars of the business like Hogan and Batista... Justin Credible
- The interview begins with James welcoming Justin Credible to the show. He asks Justin if he's still allowed to go by Justin Credible. Justin says that he has received no notice from WWE and as of right now he plans on using it "for a long time"
- Justin says that he has been doing a lot of work for the Hardcore Homecoming shows. He's keeping himself busy on the Indy scene.
- He really enjoyed working with Jerry at the first Hardcore Homecomign show. He said it was "business as usual. We got in there and had a good match. Jerry hasn't missed a beat"
- Justin said that both Hardcore Hoemcomign and ECW: One Night Stand captured the spirit of ECW. He was surprised that WWE did such a good job with it. He didn't like having WWE stars there, but other than that iot was great. He also said that both shows had different guys on the show and they had different reasons for capturing the ECW spirit.
- Justin then talks about his time with the Kliq. He says that he learned alot of from Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels and learned alot from them. "I got to see a unique side of the business" He says that they were very nice to him and he was more than happy to learn from them.
- Justin says that he really enjoyed his match with Scott Hall in ECW. He felt like he came full circle. He was a jobber in the WWE, but by the time this match happened he was the World Champion going up against someone of the caliber of Scott Hall.
- Justin says that the character came about through both himself and Paul Heyman. He said as the character progressed, he became more comfortable and the Justin Credible character just grew and improved.
- "It was awesome" was his reaction to being asked if he enjoyted working with Lance Storm. "Nothing but positives"
- He says it was easy to work in the ECW locker room. By being with the Kliq he learned alot and he took what he learned to ECW.
- When discussing his shocking world title win, he says that he didn't find out about it until the night it happened. He says that he knew Paul wanted to push him, but he had no idea that he wanted to put the world title on him. "It was a real honor" he said.
- He says that what he learned best from Shawn Michaels was that as the champion you have to go out there and put on the best match possible every time you go out there.
- "She's a real talented girl" is his response to Francine. He said that she took great bumps and looked great doing it. He says that having her around made his stuff easier. He says that the lack of managers today is a mistake. He then begins to talk about all the problems in pro wrestling today. "We've lost alot of what made wrestling popular...I think the business is taking a step in the wrong direction" He says that he feels that alot of what they are doing is recycled from stuff that has already been done and it's very predictable. He says that WWE has the talent, but the agents there have a lot of say in what the wrestlers can and can't do.
- Going back to a past interview with ROH booker Gabe, James' says that his response to Justinw as "A man who's hungry again" Justin says that he's not hungry anymore. He was for a while in ROH, but he says that he's been to too many places "to fall for the same line of bull" He says that being in the business for a long time helps you realize that your not going to be given everything and it's hard to keep that faith "when you know sometimes, alot of times, that it's not going to work out."
- He says that around the Summer of 2000 was when he realized ECW was going under. He says around that time, Paul Heyman started having problem making pay roll despite them putting on sell out shows. He says that Paul and everyone on the roster tried the best, but in the end it just didn't work out.
- He says that Paul trying to compete with the other companies was a mistake. He then says that Paul Heyman paid him very fairly and says that Paul paid himn more than WWE did in 2002.
- He says that it didn't bother him that he was left off of "The Rise and Fall of ECW" DVD. He said that "I'm not a mark for myself" He said that the DVD was WWE's interpretaion of what happened, He said he would have liked it "but he never lost sleep over it"
- He doesn't blame Heyman for the death of ECW. He believes that Heyman hung in as long as he possibly could. "Paul's intentions were always in the right place"
- The interview then shifts towards the WCW/ECW invasion. He remebers it was a great moment when ECW reformed. He said that "there was a magic in the air" However that moment was ruined the second they joined up with WCW. He said that Paul Heyman, not Stephanie and Shane McMahon, should have been in charge and ECW should have been it's own faction. He says it would have been greast if WWE, WCW, and ECW, were all around at the same time in different factions. He then continues on to say that they should have capitalized on the success of One Night Stand, but barely mentioned it the next night on Raw. He feels it would have been great if they had gotten a time slot for ECW and run the show using ECW alumnists and new comers that need to improve.
- He wasn't disappointed when WWE released him. He says that he "was self destructing...on a personal level, it was the best thing that could have happened" He says it wasn't good from a financial standpoint, but it allowed him to get his life back on track.
- He feels that ROH had a chance to make it big, but they made the mistake of keeping themselves with the internet fan base. He says they should have expanded and could have become an ECW like company. He also says that House Shows are where the money is and would like to see a promotion get TV and run house shows as well.
- "What does the future hold for Justin Credible?" He says that he hopes Hardcore Homecoming will be successful and he will keep himself busy doing that and some Indy work as well. He says that he would be interested in possibly doing something with TNA.
- We then go into word associations with Dawn Marie, Francine, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Joey Styles, Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, Vince McMahon, and Jeff Jarrett. Check out the interview for some of these interesting responses.
