Earlier today, Jim Ross underwent a medical procedure to his colon in hopes of alleviating pain he has been enduring for several weeks.
“They found something massive in my intestines,” said J.R. in a phone conversation with WWE.com. “They don’t know what it is, but they will have to cut out part of my intestines.”
Ross’ surgery is scheduled to take place next week in Oklahoma. As a result, he will be hospitalized for three to five days. WWE.com will have more information on J.R. as it becomes available.
I received an email from Penny Banner informing us that Kay Noble (wrestler for over 20 years) has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. She lives with her husband Dick, and has great faith in her doctor, and she is doing a great job at keeping her courage up. Please keep her in your prayers... Bob "Legs" Langevin passes away
A valued member of the sports-entertainment community, Bob "Legs" Langevin, passed away Saturday, October 8th at the age of 91.
Langevin had an extremely long and successful career spanning from the 1930s into the 1970s. He wrestled the likes of Lou Thesz, Killer Kowalski, Strangler Lewis and even professional boxer Joe Louis.
Langevin received his nickname of "Legs" due to the enormous strength he had in his legs. He was capable of splitting a bag of flour simply by squeezing it with his legs. It was only natural that he went on to use the Airplane Scissors as his finishing maneuver.
After his career as a wrestler was over, he was a bodyguard. Among the people who retained his services were the Prime Minister of Canada, Louis St. Laurent, Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Soroya, the wife of the Shah of Iran.
Langevin's contributions to sports-entertainment were recognized by WWE when the company honored him at a 1995 show in Montreal.

The ORIGINAL modern day wrestling convention is returning, as FAN SLAM! "The Wrestling Fan Festival" takes place on Saturday, November 19th, 2005 at The Holiday Inn in Totowa, NJ. This marks FAN SLAM's! first event back since it's big "Tribute To WrestleMania 1" convention earlier last year that featured over 18 wrestlers that were in the first ever WrestleMania event.
"The Living Legend" Bruno Sammartino will make his return to the New Jersey/New York area for this event. This will mark his first NJ/NY area appearance in many years. Bruno will not only be signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans, but will also have his very own Question & Answer Session called "Between The Ropes With Bruno Sammartino." You can take part in this Question & Answer Session session and ask Bruno any question you may have for him.
The most famous referee in the history of wrestling, Earl Hebner, will make his return to the pro wrestling industry at FAN SLAM! on November 19th. Earl will also have his very own Question & Answer Session called "The 3 Count With Earl Hebner." This could go down as the most interesting Question & Answer Session of all times!
WWF Legend Hillbilly Jim, who recently appeared at the RAW Homecoming show, will be on hand at FAN SLAM as well.
WWF Legend "Polish Power" Ivan Putski will also make his return to the Northeast for this event.
"The Native American" Tatanka, who recently appeared on RAW against Eugene, will make his return to the New Jersey area on November 19th.
The Barber Shop invades FAN SLAM! on November 19th. Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake will be taking part of the event, bringing his Barber Shop to Totowa, NJ. Fans will actually have the chance to get their hair cut by Brutus Beefcake at FAN SLAM!
Former WCW Hardcore, Cruiserweight, and Tag Team Champion, Crowbar, will also be on hand.
Hillbilly Jim, Tatanka, Brutus Beefcake and Ivan Putski will also be taken part in a Question & Answer Session called "Memories of Matches, Manias, and Mayhem!"
There's a chance more superstars could be added soon!!!
