Shannon Moore on Between the Ropes Recap

by Richard Trionfo

This week on Between the Ropes, Shannon Moore joined Fritz, Dickerman, and Vito DeNucci to talk about what he has done since his release from the WWE, what his next stop in wrestling will be, his thoughts on the Matt Hardy situation, and other issues in the world of wrestling.

He is still in his 90 day no-compete and it ends on November 2nd. The only thing in there is not to work for TNA. He can work independent shows. He has done some training seminars as well as training some students in North Carolina. He has been busy and did not expect to be this busy. He will be in Japan to work for Ultimo Dragon’s company in November.

TNA is definitely an option and would love to be a part of the team since they have a great crew there. He is impressed with the atmosphere. Everything is different from top to bottom with the morale, the creative team since they have been in the ring and understand wrestling. The ideas they come up with involve wrestling. The overall product is good. The X Division is awesome. The talent is unbelievable and it is a good thing that it is going to be showcased on SpikeTV.

He is not bitter coming from the WWE. He thanks them for the opportunity to be a part of the company. Over the last two years, he feels like his career is in a standstill. He has had the same position for that time and he was going to have to make a decision on his own. Either he would ask for the release or wait to be released. It was a weight off his shoulders. It sucks that they did not use him they way they wanted. He now has other options to go after. He watched some of the TNA work and wants to be a part of it. There are a lot of people he can do great things with like A.J. Styles and Samoa Joe in TNA.

The run with Matt was great especially to do things with him on television. When things got good, Matt was sent to Raw. It was time for him to ‘become who he is’. He is like the ‘Prince of Punk’ outside the ring. It was time for Shannon to show the world that it is really him and he is going to have fun in the ring.

The morale in the WWE was down when he left because there were a lot of people who thought that they were not being used properly. There are talented people in the WWE. If one person is feeling bad, it affects the whole locker room. Hanging out with his friends at TNA, there are a lot of differences. People were working together to make it the best possible product instead of trying to stab each other in the back. That is why the product is getting over right now.

He thought that Matt Hardy would end up in TNA and Shannon hoped that he would go there. Matt has a good mind for wrestling and could help out both in and out of the ring. It did not work out for Matt at the time and maybe he will end up in the future. The situation with Matt was a shoot that became a work. Matt and Amy did split up and Adam was a reason that led to the break up. He has not asked Matt where the line between work and shoot is. Matt has moved on in his life and Amy is not around. They would not take things that far if it was a work.

Shannon was asked about the Royal Rumble when Shannon was at ringside to keep Matt in the match. It was their idea to do that. Matt told them to have Shannon at ringside with him. They were talking about keeping Shannon in the back, but Matt said that Shannon should be out there. It did not mean much to have Shannon at ringside, but that was something that you remember. The little things are something that can make or break a match or a pay per view and it seems like they miss a few of those things.

He does not know if the WWE will focus on the cruiserweight division, but once the X Division is showcased they will try to build it. They will not be able to compete with the X Division because the WWE does not understand how the cruiserweight division can be a positive to the show.
