Will we ever see Divas added to the Rumblers line?

Probably not unless one really starts appealing specifically to kids.

It doesnt make much sense that you guys said since he (Jericho) was in Entrance greats he wont get a DM figure.Rock, Michaels, HHH, and Taker had Entrance Greats and DM's. IF you do make a DM Jericho, could it be in attire of the night he beat Rock and Austin to be Undisputed champ?

It’s not really because he was an Entrance great fig. it is because he did not sell all that well.

It’s not totally off the table though, keep asking!!!

Have you checked out our figure fixups thread? If so, what do you think of our work?

I think it is great.

As a designer, how do you feel about customization in general? Do you appreciate the creativity or would you prefer that the figures be left as they are?

If we were not doing what we are doing, we would be doing what you are doing!!!!

When you guys first took over there was talk about wanting to do variants, which we saw in Series 4 with Jericho and Morrison. Will we get more of those kind of variants in the future instead of box variants like shades on or off and such.

News Flash: 99 percent of variants are mistakes that we catch and do running changes on. Some work out well, some not so well. (so , we are not as smart as you think!)

I know you just made one but in the future will you be able to make an n.W.o macho man in either legends or entrance greats? Thanks.

We will be making lots of Macho Man’s !! N.W.O.??? Could be.

I love the detail put into the figure belts, but why is the US Title so much out of proportion when compared to all of the other excellent titles?

Yeah we know,, we are going to fix it. It will then qualify as a variant!

Is there a chance of seeing title belts from other companies that WWE owns? E.g. WCW version of Booker T with WCW U.S. Title or WCW World title (which is actually different than the WWE's version, something that Jakks didn't pick up on)

Here’s the deal, the designs of a lot of the belt’s are owned by the guy who actually made them originally.

That’s why they couldn’t and we haven’t so far. We are trying to do a deal.

Do you think we'll get a referee figure at some point in 2011?
No, we are just not ready to dig that deep into the roster yet.
How do you plan on releasing the Divas title if there will be no Divas in the Elite line?

Why aren't Legends distributed at retail in the United Kingdom? Is it an issue with retailers or is it a decision Mattel made to not offer the figures to them?

International distributors pick and choose what they buy from our line. We offer our intire lines to everyone with the exception of exclusives. Unfortunately there are even less collectors in our International markets than in the US. Between this and gas prices you guys must be hurting!!!

Can we expect to see WWE All Stars figures? Like how they look in the video game, not the current All Star figures that are released? I think it would be a unique product to have them look like that.
No plans to do that style at this time.

I wrote you a poem even Lanny Poffo would be proud of, do you like it? hoping it's worth a 'free prize'...

Mattel's WWE figures are truly awesome things to display,
Toys so great they need to see the light of day,

But when you have so many, there's just one question to ponder,
Where do you display your figures - this is what I wonder?

Some people store them in a box? Ready for them to fight,
Others store them lined on shelves? proudly out on sight!

No matter where you show off your figures, There really is no debate...
Say it loud, say it proud... MATTEL FIGURES ARE JUST... GREAT.

Very Cool, and a nice break in the middle of answering questions!!

Which Superstar has been most impressed with his figure so far that you know off?

Randy Savage was loving his figures, it’s a shame he won’t be around to see more.

Beth Phoenix thought her figure looked better than she did!

Generally the response from the talent has been awesome. Most of them are just happy we are including them in the line. They are really a great bunch of people to work with.

Has anyone offered input to you, like saying they would prefer a certain attire or how they'd like there headsculpt? (smiling, angry, ect)

No, it’s mostly certain events or moments we get requests for.

Here's a question Mattel, when will everyone stop asking for free figures?

I guess when they finally realize they are not getting one. (I never do the same thing twice in a row)

Bill, I know you guys said you are looking into it, but I can't understand this - (Macho Man image)

I mean it's only on Defining Moments and Legends that the hips are stuck/fused yet the regular Elite line has been fine except for the Series 1 Punk. So my question is if they are the same parts why are the Legends/DM's having these issues yet the regular Elties aren't? Are they made in a different factory?

No, Basics, Elites and all of our other “core” figures are made in one factory.

This is a nagging problem that is a very low percentage of our production(less than 1%) but it keeps popping up. The lower torsos are solvent welded together, when too much is used, the bar between the legs fuses to the torso and or the leg. Sometimes when you move the leg it pops free, sometimes the leg comes off in your hand. It’s gonna happen once in a while in production.

What we are trying to get the factory to do is do a better job of finding these fused figures in the factory and pulling them from the run so you don’t get a bad figure, try to return it and find out because of our low run numbers that it’s now unavailable. What I can tell you is to check your figures right away after purchase, buy a replacement right away if you get a bad one, then contact our customer service line for a credit. They have been good about taking care of these issues.

With so much of the roster completed in the first 18 months will there be an effort to bring more divas. While a spot on the main roster is almost a guaruntee for male superstars (why else would we have Tarver & Young?), divas like Gail Kim, Layla and Alicia Fox have been with WWE since you got the license and still haven't got figures despite only requiring new heads to be molded. I'm used to this kind of sexism in action figure collecting but it really seems as of late that you have no faith in diva figures.

Sexism or even faith has nothing to do with the pace that we are releasing Divas. We are doing divas, we just can’t put them out as frequently as the guys simply because they do not sell at any where near the same rate. They will keep coming out but over a longer period of time.

Any chance of the 1/1000 belts returning?

Slim until we decide to start another figure segment.

Have you considered doing a WWE Legend of the Month Club like you do with the He Man of the Month or the Ghostbusters lines from your Matty Collector site?
It could help focus the collectors on that line...

It’s being considered,

are there plans to do anymore batista figures, its just since he's gone we haven't had one batista figure which kinda sucks.

We did a lot of Batista Figs in 2010, we are giving him a rest for now.

We’ve seen Chavo Guerrero in 2-packs and Elite, but will we see him in a solo Basic series in the foreseeable future?

You will see more Chavos

Would it be possible to have a wrestlingfigs.com exclusive?

Way to do it....

The lead in thread: Each wfigs member gets to make one post with a list of up to 3 exclusives they would like Mattel to make.

You then look thru the lists and pick out, say the top 10 exclusives mentioned.

Then a poll is made with those 10 exclusives listed and each wfigs member gets 1 vote.

You then tally the votes and make a limited edition wrestlingfigs.com exclusive figure.

Wrestling Figs .com does get exclusives

How exactly are figures for Defining Moments picked?

Is it figure first then pick a look?
Or do you already have a look picked and just need to figure who gets released first?

It’s about the Defining moment, Then the superstar that defined it, then what he was wearing.

Thanks again for the Q/A Mattel. I have some queries.

1. I know it was mentioned in the last one that Basic CM Punks don't have colored tattoos because of budgets but why has his knuckle tattoos been removed since it appeared on Basic 2?
Our Legal had issues with the drug reference. Keep in mind we are a toy company.

3. Is there gonna be a new headscan for Christian?

Yep

Time and time again you claimed you wanted to have the most extensive WWE action figure line ever. You also said countless times you planned on covering the entire roster. Now in your recent Q&A it was said only people who get a lot of TV time will get figures. Why the sudden change? What sense does it make to cover almost the entire roster and than decide to leave out a few people?

Quoted because I really want a answer to this and was very disapointed with the last answer given.
Collecting the entire line/roster is what I decided to do when you said you would be covering the entire WWE locker room.

I think changing your ideas and focusing on superstars with more "TV Time" and constant re-paints/re-releases is gong to hurt the line in the long run and give me a smaller, unfinished collection.

As a design group we are still dedicated to putting out as many figures of existing and former roster superstars as possible. We push our marketing partners every day to put everyone in the line.

We use TV time as a go by for general discussions, but the reality is and decisions are made by how popular with the overall consumer base the figure is.

Collectors are only a part of the equation. If it was just about collecting we would just throw everyone out there and you guys would buy them all up.

Unfortunately there is not 20K plus guys like you out there that buy everything and sometimes the numbers just don’t add up and we cannot justify the figure.

Finally, don’t for a minute think that we are just going to be doing repaints and re releases

We are spending huge amounts on money on tooling in 2011 and will be in 2012 in an effort to give you guys as many new and updated figures as possible. We are still and will continue to invest very heavily in this line.
