Today before RAW at Prudential Center in Newark NJ WWE had Baron Corbin and Nikki Cross make an appearance at California Pizza Kitchen in Willowbrook Mall in Wayne NJ. This appearance was to kick off California Pizza Kitchen’s Pizza With A Purpose to help raise funds for Connor’s Cure. The program will take place all this week July 8-July 12 at California Pizza Kitchen’s NY and NJ locations and if you mention to your server that you support Connor’s Cure all this week 20% of your total bill will be donated to Connor’s Cure.
About 50 or so fans were lined up outside the entrance to CPK at the mall before the 11:30 start time and that number more than doubled during the event as more fans showed up during the hour and a half the WWE Superstars were there signing and taking photos. The event was well run and things went smoothly. Both Corbin and Cross were very fan friendly and took their time with everyone. The CPK food was good and hopefully they raised a sizable donation to help fight pediatric cancer.
The downside was that the event was originally announced as Team Little Big (Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss) so that was whose items I brought to get signed. The WWE supplied their generic autograph mats so I did get autographs. Card subject to change is a wrestling mantra. I still had fun with my sons and meeting up with friends and making new ones.
