I arrived late in the day for Day One of New York City Comic Con, but still met some wrestling legends among other stars.
Jerry “The King” Lawler and Jim Ross were at the Headlocked Comic booth.
Lawler is a big supporter of Headlocked and Michael Kingston, Headlocked’s creator. Lawler has done artwork for the comic.
I talked to “The King” about Headlocked. He loves doing it. It’s a great (and realistic) comic about wrestling.
Good ol’ JR looked great. We talked about his barbecue sauce and his beloved Oklahoma Sooners.
I have followed Michael Kingston for years. He’s as hard-working as he is talented. The proof is in the number of wrestlers who have contributed to Headlocked.
This is my first NYCC and I can’t believe how big it is. Yet it is extremely well-organized. The staff is great. There is plenty of signage. Even the Covid check-in process was quick. I think everyone is just happy to be back at cons.
