Hulk Hogan - Wrestlemania 1 Edition
Great figure, I don’t think Jakks could have done a better job. The wripable able shirt is awesome, the only thing is the “HU” and “LKAMANIA” don’t lineup properly. The scan is perfect for Hogan in this era. Jakks also added a different color shade to the hair on the top of his head. The one thing I’m really not fond of is the painted on headband, I would have liked to see it molded on.
Overall grade: A
Jerry “The King” Lawler
I really like this figure. The crown is perfect, as is the scan. I love the new single strap singlet mold. Jakks added all the crowns on the side of the tights and on the boots. I’m glad Jakks added the cape to Lawler, I think it adds a lot to the figure. I can definitely see Jakks using these molds for a current RAW announcer Lawler.
Overall grade: A
Vader
“It’s time! It’s time! It’s Vader time!” I love this figure. The cloth singlet is a bit of a pain though, because it constantly moves around. Jakks added the chest hair, which looks great. The headscan is perfect, also, the mask is one of the most detailed sculpts I’ve seen Jakks do. Some see the gloves as a disappointment; I really don’t mind Jakks reusing the fat body hands in this case. The WCW mask/ headpiece is amazing. It’s made out of a soft rubber, which makes it very pliable and able to fit on anyone.
Overall grade: A+
Hollywood Hulk Hogan (nWo)
Best figure in the set period. The headscan is perfect for Hogan. I love the removable bandanna as well as the brand new weight belt. The tights are amazing. The detail on the boots is perfect. The addition of the boas, nWo title and the sunglasses make this figure perfect.
Overall grade: A+
Bruiser Brody
I love this figure. The headscan works perfectly for Brody. The only thing missing is the scars on his head. Jakks nailed the finger tape on the hands. The artificial fur boots put this figure up over the top. I do not see anything that could be added to this figure. Jakks even added Brody’s chain.
Overall grade: A
“Classy” Freddie Blassie
“Listen you pencil neck geeks” you are going to love this figure. The body is similar to the IE Paul Heyman released not too long ago. Freddie has the thin arms like Heyman did. I really love the shirt on this figure; it’s completely removable via Velcro. The scan is perfect. I’m glad Jakks added the walking cane to this figure, it really adds a lot as far as detail is concerned. The cane handle is also molded to fit Freddie’s hand perfectly. The only gripe with this figure that I have is that the hair should be closer to white. Jakks gave him a solid grey hair color. The attire choice is great; Freddy has been seen wearing this attire on a few occasions, one of which was with Nikolai Volkoff.
Overall grade: A
Chief Jay Strongbow
A simple yet solid figure. The main disappointment here was the cutting down on the headdress by Jakks. I loved the proto with all of the real feathers. The headdress is completely removable and is put together nicely. Jakks did include the tomahawk logo on the back of the tights as well as the boot logos. The scan works nicely and is very accurate. The only thing that Jakks could have added was either the feathers or a vest.
Overall grade: B+
Cowboy Bob Orton
Once again, a very simple yet solid figure. Jakks did add all of Bob’s accessories, one of which being the hat. The hat is the old TTL mold, but brown. It works nicely, but I’d have rathered the new JBL hat mold. Jakks even added the trademark cast to Bob’s left arm. The scan is perfect; I can’t find a thing wrong with the scan. The vest could have been more detailed; it needs the tassels on the bottom and on the collar to be perfect.
