Welcome to the return of the Custom Countdown! Tonight we will countdown the best
10 Customs of May 2005.
Custom Countdown! Tonight we will countdown the best
10 Customs of May 2005. Unfortunately due to time
restraints, only I was able to choose this months
countdown, but returning next month will be the full
Custom Council! Enjoy the countdown...
---------------------------------------------------------
1. Hollywood Hulk Hogan sculpture by tee
Without a shadow of a doubt, this is this months
number 1 custom. Tee captured the pose perfectly. The
sculpture stands about 14 inches tall and is fully
sculpted. This is an insane custom brought to you by
the one and only tee. 10/10
---------------------------------------------------------
2. Cactus Jack by Adam
Amazing. This is number 2 this month basically because
it is flawless. Adam did an amazing job on the whole
thing. The paintjob is incredible. I'm loving the
sculpting job aswell. He caught Mick's classic "Bang
Bang" pose perfectly. Amazing work. 9.9/10
---------------------------------------------------------
3. Glacier by XxnwoxX
The best Glacier custom I have ever seen. The paintjob
is amazing. I'm not very fond of the skintone though,
XxnwoxX, I feel that you could have done the shading
with the skintone basically because of the amazing
paintjob on the tights. The tanktop and hair are
sculpted very nicely; nice and smooth. The one thing I
don't like is the sizing of the head. The scan works
perfectly, but compared to the rest of the body.. the
head looks out of proportion. 9.8/10
---------------------------------------------------------
4. Adam Pearce by TXR
Another amazing Indy custom from TXR who continues to
get better and better. I love the paintjob on this
custom, also, the sculpting is amazing; very smooth
and straight. Not only does the figure look great,
but he added a custom robe to the figure. The head on
this custom works perfectly and the beard is painted
very nicely. Only .1 of a point kept you away from the
number 3 spot. 9.7/10
---------------------------------------------------------
5. Balls Mahoney by Adam
Wow, just wow. Adam seems to have literally popped up
overnight. The parts choice and paint job are nice for
Balls. There are only two things I dislike about this
custom. One being the hair color and texture. Balls
had much browner hair and it was shaggier. The other
thing is the jean shorts. I think they are too light
of a blue. Great work though. 9.1/10
---------------------------------------------------------
6. Alex Shelley by AWS
Great custom, I love the parts choice. The skintone is
great as is the paintjob on the tights. The goatee
seems a tad thick on the custom, not to mention the
elbowpad is made of electrical tape.. Great work.
9.0/10
---------------------------------------------------------
7. Demolition by Me Gusta Guster
Very nice set of figures. Possibly one of the best
Demolition sets I've seen. The parts choices work
nicely on both. The paintjobs are very clean and he
added masks, vests and a custom carding. The only
thing that brought these down was the simplicity. Most
of the parts are standard Jakks parts with little to
no modifications. Great work though. 8.7/10
---------------------------------------------------------
8. Paul London by JSH
A very nice custom. The parts and paintjob are nice
with the exception that Paul doesn't wear wristtape.
The tassles are a great addition to the figure.
Simplicity brought this custom down though. There were
few modifications and some unneeded wristtape. Great
job though. 8.6/10
---------------------------------------------------------
9. HBK by ThugSuperstar
Great RA custom inspired by HBK's WrestleMania 21
attire. I like the parts choice on this custom. The
paintjob looks smooth, but may not be 100% accurate
and has a few spots that are a tad sloppy. Great job
nonetheless 8.5/10
---------------------------------------------------------
10. Big Bossman by Razor
A new face in customizing. This is the first custom
I've seen from him and was I impressed. This was
modeled after the early Big Bossman gimmick. The
paintjob is very nice, a little sloppy in spots but
that's alright. The material linings to the torso were
a nice touch. The parts fit nicely with the TTL head
and torso with RA arms and legs. Great work. 8.2/10
