Ringside Fest, My Job, CS, and other thoughts

In reading blog comments, I want to make sure I help address our objectives at Ringside Fest. We’re coming with a bit of new news regarding the CS line. Specifically, some changes to the wave role out strategy as well as a new signing.
Just to address what I do at Jakks… I run the Entertainment Division. This includes WWE, Pokemon, Neopets, Dragonball, and all new business development in that area.

• Licensing acquisition and communications
• Sales into mass and secondary accounts
• Financial responsibility for all lines - hitting product margin and operating profit goals.
• Product, Pricing, Packaging development & Promotions

My time spent on signing Classic Superstars ebbs and flows as the line demands new signings. Sometimes we’re approached by Superstars… sometimes we approach. Overall, it’s an important line extension of the WWE brand - one that we know needs more attention as we move forward.

There is a huge demand to continue signing superstars - and we will. The issue is at some point you hit a wall with all of the various hurdles in signing - some superstar, some licensor, some jakks. I can never get into detail as to why a certain superstar will not sign a deal.

By the way - on Sid - I’ve requested a running change to include knee pads.  There is a 30 day lead time for material acquisition.  May not get the change in time, but listening to you.
