WOOOO! What did that greenie do to his collarbone?!…
WOO HOO! Ringside Fest Was Good to Me!
Hey family! Good to see so many of you at Ringside Fest. Despite my injury I rolled down, made the trip and had a great time being jam packed, cold and sneezy with all of you. I do miss being around on a regular basis mostly because things like Ringside Fest remind me of the great personalities in our fandom, and hopefully I'll get to make a little more time.
DAT X-PAC
Among other things, I broke my collarbone on a flying arm drag (I call it flying to make it sound cooler than it actually is when explaining my injury) and have just finished up my surgery. A plate and 8 screws, maybe 9, I keep forgetting. I'm surviving, can't wait to get back in the ring whenever it may be and was more angry with myself for something going wrong on a simple move that I'm actually pretty good at than in pain. That's the risk you take, though, so everyone remember that before you give it a shot!
I was able to bring home some cool stuff thanks to Ringside to take a look at that I've had my eye on for a while. First up, the Wyatt Family are falling apart thanks to foolish booking but their Elite figures are pretty cool and as a big Brodie Lee fan, I had to indulge.
This Is How The Setup Goes, Right?
I definitely like the accessories being shared out and the team being linked through the set. It seems expensive I'm sure to get the things that you want, but that's what the Wyatt Family has been about the entire time, a family, and it's really useless to have one without the others. Something WWE doesn't seem to understand yet!
Here's The Church, Here's the Sheeple
Next up, the Legion of Doom in Elite 30 are must haves. I used to love Legion of Doom during the Attitude Era, which I know not everyone is a huge fan of, but I'm a big fan of guys like Legion of Doom and Big Bossman who were able to evolve their considerably 'old school' characters to fit into this gritty world. In the modern day, I feel like an Adam Rose or a Fandango might not be as lucky if such a transition took place. Hawk and Animal are a great example of what can be done in reinvention and staying the same with wrestling.
Did You See Droz Push Hawk? I Did...
Fantasy Match-Up 101
As a big fan of Goldust, I was happy to see he and Stardust having such a great time at Ringside Fest. Goldust is a huge wrestling influence on Dramatico and I've learned a lot from just watching him. I didn't get a chance to speak to him unfortunately, but hopefully I'll get the chance to pick his brain one day For now, comparing his newest figure which is excellent to the Elite 6 figure which isn't will do. It makes me think about values going up and down. Now that there's a better Elite Goldust, does anyone really want that Elite 6 one anymore? Meh...
Stutter Stutter...St-St-Stutter...Stutter...
Of course, the crown jewel of wrestling figures that I took home comes in the form of the Defining Moments Ric Flair. After all those goofy rumors, we're lucky enough to all have the chance to have what I can honestly say is likely the best wrestling figure I've ever seen. As someone who's in the position to make that sort of claim.
WOOO! FREE ME BEFORE I GET NAKED!
What can be said about Ric Flair that hasn't already been said? He's legendary, incredible to watch to this day and the wrestling world simply wouldn't be what it is without him. His Defining Moments figure has a robe that actually looks like one, without any silly replacement frills that are cheaper and he's spot on. I'm hoping this is the first of many, but if it's our only chance at a decked out Flair, it's great. I love this Ric Flair, I love wild eyed old man TNA Ric Flair, I've never watched something with the Nature Boy that I have not enjoyed, as a fan.
Fabulous Glory...That's The Story
If you don't have the Mattel WWE Defining Moments Ric Flair in your collection and you're a Ric Flair fan or not, and it isn't the very next item on your list, you're making a huge mistake. This one really can't be beat, past, present, and likely future.
I'll keep you guys posted as I heal, for anyone curious about what's going on with Dramatico. Repeating once more, I'm more pissed that this sets me back in time than anything, but you have to make sure you take care of yourself when you're injured. I showed a lot of people the x-ray at Ringside Fest and it wasn't pretty! Hopefully it won't take very long and I'll be back in the ring shortly. Whether it's short or long, though, I will be back in.
