A couple of all time favorites arrive!…
Hope everyone has had an awesome holiday. As New Years is over and long weekends come to a close, we're all back to normal life and work. Woof. But figure collecting adds fun bright spots and I've seen the fun in getting a few figures here and there in a big way this year since being away from RSC on a full-time basis, more than I have in a long time. I hope everyone got what they wanted or are saving to get what they're looking for!
When you don't wrap, you use a Panera Bread bag.
First off, my final get from RSC this year did include the Road Dogg & Billy Gunn Battle Packs 32 set. Thought this set was great, but since I'm such a nice guy I brought it for Secret Santa at New England Pro Wrestling Academy. The lucky final winner was Marcos, who is also training and does a great salsa dance.
Marcos Santiago!
Somehow, I ended up with an El Torito. Heaven help me. I cannot escape wrestling action figures no matter where I go.
Happy Holidays to me!
After adding 'that little guy in the bull costume everyone loves' to my collection, I took a look at everything. First up, Bluetista! Can't go wrong with a douchey version of someone none of us like anyways! I had to be in the same boat as everyone else. I still don't really care for the guy but this is too funny. Good choice by Bill in throwing him in.
Back off, man...I'm blue if I was green I would die, if I was green I would die.
Finally, there's a Mattel WWE X-Pac in Elite 33! With him being my all time favorite, it's a no-brainer. Used to love X-Pac's speed, agility and athleticism, a level of lightning quickness most people will never touch in the ring. Always easy and a pleasure for me to watch. And I don't care what people say about X-Pac heat...that was actual heat. The guy knew how to make everyone despise him and it worked. The older I get, the more I appreciate it. Not me, though. I was on his side no matter what. Sorry, Kane, but you are a piece of crap!
MAKE A LITTLE NOISE!
Like the rest of you every once in a while I get blessed with some less than great paint apps. It's the worst when it happens on one of your favorites, but oh well. My biggest 'problem' with this figure is that it's almost identical to the Jakks Classic Superstars. Other than being more physically accurate, both companies hit this version of X-Pac pretty spot on. I'd have liked a different version. I had suggested the red and white from the tag team run with Kane to Bill, but he gave me his reasoning against any others and I understood it. Here's to hoping for another in the future that's something new, that's all.
I hate the way Michael Cole says X-Factor
RSC usually sends me the latest Christian. Not much of a difference between this latest one and the last one, other than the fact that he's SUDDENLY RETIRED! Seriously, can finding out something suck any more than that? I'm not at all happy about it but I still don't quite believe it's real yet. I think there's a chance he could show up or have a final program. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed but I'm still a proud peep, regardless of terrible booking.
YOU KNOW SOMETHIN', YOU KNOW SOMETHIN'
That's it for now. I'm not really into the Defining Moments Hogan as that's not my Hulkamania favorite but I'm looking forward to seeing more nWo, hopefully some different versions of DX and more from the Attitude Era as the year progresses. I like where things are and it seems like everyone else does, and that's great! It's nice to have a solid six to eight inch figure line going. One of the few, and one of the best.
HOW THE DX REVIVAL WITH A LITTLE PERSON SHOULD'VE GONE
