On Friday night, January 6th, the most exciting four-way wrestling
match in UK history will hit the 1PW ring at the Dome in Doncaster as "The Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, "The Phenomenal One" AJ STYLES, former WWE Tag Team champion CHARLIE HAAS and "The Samoan Submission Machine" SAMOA
JOE will square off against each other with glory on the line for the winner.
With the 1PW World Title tournament scheduled to begin in January, 1PW Newsline is pleased to announce the first two of the eight qualifying round matches have been confirmed. On Friday night, January 6th, "The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal Maniac" SABU makes his 1PW debut in extreme fashion by taking on "The Monster" ABYSS. Will the most violent madman in wrestling history be able to get past the sport's most dominating big man? And how will Sabu overcome the sinister machinations of Abyss' new master, STERLING JAMES KEENAN?
Then, on Saturday night January 7th, former ECW World champion MASATO TANAKA will face former Ring Of Honor champion SAMOA JOE for advancement into the official First Round. Masato Tanaka, a man who has fought wars in wrestling rings around the world during his stellar 12 year career against Samoa Joe, the young up-and-comer who has been exhibiting dominance in both Ring Of Honor and TNA over the past year. Both men are known for their incredibly hard-hitting styles and their ability to absorb as much punishment as they dish out. This wrestling fan's dream match is sure to be a war of attrition that should not be missed.
1PW officials have also found a way to settle the score between TRACY
SMOTHERS and THE BLUE MEANIE. As fans will recall, Smothers took issue
with Meanie's series of appearances on WWE Smackdown after Smothers had to
save Meanie from a blindside attack by JBL at the ECW One Night Stand PPV.
Smothers called Meanie a "sell-out" and a "traitor" and decided to
finish what JBL had started and kick Meanie's butt himself.
At 1PW's A CRUEL TWIST OF FATE event, Smothers used a chain wrapped
around his fist to get a tainted victory over Meanie. Then later in the
evening, when Smothers tried to help AWA World champion STEVE CORINO in his
match against AL SNOW, it was Meanie who came to ringside to help his old
"J.O.B. Squad" partner and stop the double-team.
Well now it's The Blue Meanie's turn to issue a challenge. "Smothers!
Obviously, people need to watch their backs around you, so I've got Al
Snow to watch mine. You can ask Steve Corino, Steve Armstrong, Stevie Nicks
from Fleetwood Mac, Big Mac the Burger Cop from McDonald's or Old MacDonald
and his whole damn farm but you go get yourself a tag partner and you meet
us in Doncaster."
Smothers answered this challenge quickly and told us his partner
wouldn't be a "Steve" at all. With Corino busy in the 1PW title tournament,
Smothers is bringing his regular tag partner of the last 3 years, "Confederate
Currency" CHRIS HAMRICK, to 1PW. Together as SOUTHERN COMFORT, Hamrick and
Smothers have blazed a trail throughout the American indy wrestling scene,
destroying opponents and winning titles like the IWA-Mid South and IWC tag team
belts. The J.O.B. Squad reunites to face off against Southern Comfort on two
consecutives nights with matches against one another on both Friday and
Saturday night, January 6th and 7th. And 1PW Officials have promised
to add something special to the mix for Saturday night's match that is

of 1PW's website, www.1p-w.com, know that a certain American wrestling
star has been trying to force his way onto January's shows and into the 1PW
title tournament. Inundated with legal paperwork, lawyers' phonecalls and
threats of litigation, 1PW has relented and has signed the current NWA World
Heavyweight champion JEFF JARRETT to appear at NO TURNING BACK.
But 1PW says they won't make it any easier on Jarrett once he arrives
as he will have to play by 1PW's rules in the ring, just as 1PW had to do legally.
