IWA MID-SOUTH

Christmas Carnage 2005

Friday, December 16, 2005

Capital  Sports Center  (1915 Gladden Road) in Plainfield

In  the opening contest, Spyder Nate Webb defeated Hillbilly Jed.  The  300+  pound Jed tried to finish off Webb when he climbed to the  second turnbuckle and  hit a Canadian destroyer on Webb, but was  only able to score a two count.  Jed  tried to hit the destroyer  a second time, but Webb slammed Jed down to the mat  and hit a  450’ top rope leg drop to get the pin.

CJ Otis defeated  Van Hughes when he dumped Hughes on his head with a belly to  belly  suplex and followed it up with a lariat to score the pin.

The  Iron Saints (Vito & Sal Thomaselli) defeated Lotus & Crazy  J to  retain the IWA Mid-South Tag Team Championship.  As the  Saints retreated to the  floor early in the match, Crazy J hit  a suicide dive on Vito while Lotus landed  a corkscrew plancha  on Sal, setting the pace for a match loaded with high impact  moves.   Later, the Saints would hit Crazy J with a modified total elimination  where Sal hit a lariat while Vito simultaneously hit a chop block.   Lotus & Crazy J looked to have the match won when Crazy  J had Vito in a fireman’s carry,  allowing Lotus to hit a top  rope double-foot stomp to the back of Vito’s head,  followed  by Crazy J hitting a Death Valley driver on to Lotus’ knees, but  Sal  broke up the pin.  Lotus & Crazy J tried their finishing  combination a  second time, but Sal knocked Lotus off the top rope  while Vito set Crazy J up in  a pendulum, allowing Sal to hit a  double foot stomp to the back of Crazy J’s  head and get the  pin.

The Saints then called out Jimmy Jacobs to the ring.   Jacobs came out  carrying a trash can.  The Saints told Jacobs  that if all it took to get a pay  day was to throw the IWA Heavyweight  title belt into the trash, he should have  called them and they  would have gladly joined him.  They then threw their tag  team  title belts in the trash.  Jacobs then told the Saints that he  didn’t need  anyone’s help in his match with New Jack later  that night.  As the Saints left,  Jacobs then called out New Jack  and offered New Jack a payoff.  As New Jack  pocketed the cash,  he said that while he doesn’t give a damn about IWA or Ian,  he  cares less about Jacobs and that he was going to hurt Jacobs later  in the  night.

Trik Davis defeated Darin Corbin, Ryan Cruz,  and “Sweet & Sour” Larry  Sweeney to become the #1 contender  to the IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight  Championship.  Sweeney  and Corbin worked together for most of the match, but the  alliance  eventually broke down.  In the end, Sweeney took down Corbin with  a  front suplex, but decided to pose for the crowd rather than  go for the pin.   This allowed Davis to hit a drop kick from the  top rope on Sweeney while  landing on Corbin, allowing Davis to  pin Corbin.

American Dragon defeated Jigsaw.  Dragon hit  a superplex and tried to lock in  the cattle mutilation, but Jigsaw  turned it into a pin attempt.  Jigsaw then  tried to lock in the  cattle mutilation, but Dragon powered out and turned it  into a  double-under hook dragon suplex.  Dragon then locked in the cattle  mutilation and forced Jigsaw to tap out.

Hallowicked defeated  “The Anarchist” Arik Cannon with an assist from Larry  Sweeney.   After hitting a T-bone suplex, Cannon went for a running elbow  on  Hallowicked, but Hallowicked pulled the referee in Cannon’s  path and Cannon  knocked the referee out cold.  Cannon then hit  a shining wizard, but with the  referee out, he couldn’t score  the pin.  Meanwhile, Larry Sweeney had come down  to ringside  and slipped his Television title belt into the ring and draped  Hallowicked’s  foot over the bottom rope.  As Sweeney distracted the referee,  Hallowicked attempted to hit Cannon with the belt, but Darin Corbin,  who was  trained by Cannon, stopped him.  Corbin then took the  belt and attempted to hit  Hallowicked, but Hallowicked ducked  and Corbin accidentally hit Cannon, leaving  Cannon open for a  fisherman’s suplex into a tiger bomb and allowing Hallowicked  to pick up the win.  As the two Chikara wrestlers left victorious,  Cannon  expressed his anger at Corbin for interfering in the match.

In  a No Disqualification, No Count out, Falls Count Anywhere match,  New Jack  defeated Jimmy Jacobs.  Jacobs jumped New Jack with  a spike before the bell, not  wanting New Jack to gain access to  the bag that Jack had brought to the ring.   However, New Jack  had come prepared and fought back with a fork.  New Jack then  went  to work on Jacobs with a knuckle wrap with three 2-inch blades sticking  out  of it and a long metal chain with a 2-inch blade on the end.   The match would  spill to the outside, where Jacobs would reverse  an Irish whip and send New Jack  into a concrete wall.  Back in  the ring, Jacobs would miss a senton, allowing  New Jack to ascend  to the top rope with a chair, and New Jack brought the chair  crashing  on Jacobs’ skull, allowing New Jack to pick up the victory.  For  those  who are curious, yes, Natural Born Killaz played  throughout the entire  match.

In a Falls Count Anywhere  match, Ian Rotten, Matt Sydal, & Delirious  defeated Josh Abercrombie,  Brandon Thomaselli, & Eddie Kingston.  During his  entrance,  Ian handed out cigars to the audience in celebration of his newborn  son.  After some initial stalling on the part of Abercrombie,  Thomaselli, and  Kingston, it didn’t take long for this one to  break down into chaos.  With  Delirious down, Sydal would dump  Abercrombie into a trash can on the floor, but  soon after found  himself suplexed on to that same trash can by Thomaselli.   Meanwhile,  a sickening thud could be heard as Ian cracked a chair over the  head  of Kingston.  Thomaselli then threw Delirious back into  the ring and tied  Delirious’ mask to the bottom rope.  As Ian  and Kingston slugged it out on the  outside, Thomaselli set up  Sydal for a vertibreaker and dropped Sydal onto the  knees of Abercrombie.   This was followed by a flurry of multi-man submission  holds  that came so fast and were so complicated that I couldn’t begin  to  describe them.  Eventually, Abercrombie would attempt a superplex  on Ian, but  Ian pushed him down to the mat and Delirious hit a  top rope splash off Ian’s  shoulders on to Abercrombie’s back.   However, Thomaselli broke up the pin and  then took Ian off the  top rope with a hurricanrana.  Thomaselli then missed a  top rope  splash, which allowed Ian to roll him for the win.

The Iron  Saints then hit the ring and starting beating down Ian as  Abercrombie,  Thomaselli, and Kingston tied Delirious and Sydal to the ropes.   Sal drove a chair into Ian’s out stretched arm on the mat  and Abercrombie  followed with an arm bar on that same arm as Thomaselli  locked in a cross face.   Crazy J, Lotus, and Trik Davis tried  to make the save, but it wasn’t until Nate  Webb, The Necro Butcher,  and New Jack hit the ring that the Thomasellis,  Abercrombie, and  Kingston made a hasty retreat.

In a Barbed Wire Baseball  Bat Match, Bull Pain defeated Brandon Prophet.   While Bull brought  the bat to the ring, Prophet brought a metal bucket with a  roll  of barbed wire and a staple gun in it.  As Bull started going to  work,  Prophet begged for mercy, only to be introduced to the bat  wrapped in barbed  wire.  As the match spilled to the outside,  Bull crushed the metal bucket over  Prophet’s head.  After soliciting  a donation from a fan in the front row, Bull  stapled a one dollar  bill to Prophet’s head.  Prophet continued to beg and plead  for  mercy as Bull continued his assault, including a DDT onto the bat.   Finally,  Bull dropped a leg on Prophet with the bat placed over  Prophet’s throat to get  the pin and end the match.  Prophet  continued to earn his strips in IWA  Mid-South, having taken an  incredible beating from The Necro Butcher and  Corporal Robinson  last month in addition to this one.

The Main Event was a  No Rope Barbed Wire match where The Necro Butcher & “Mr.  Insanity” Toby Klein defeated Deranged & Brian Damage.  As  Deranged and  Klein fought in the ring, Butcher and Damage slugged  it out on the outside.   Damage was the first to really feel the  barbed wire after being hung into the  wire by Butcher as Klein  pulled down to apply more pressure.  Butcher then set  up four  chairs in the middle of the ring for stiffing duel.  The duel saw  both  teams lay in some hard shots, but it was Butcher and Klein  where left in their  chairs.  Later, Damage would hit a package  piledriver on the outside with  Deranged jumping off the ring apron  to spike Butcher on the floor.  Klein then  got his hands on Deranged  and bloodied Deranged using the mask that Deranged had  wore to  the ring.  Deranged was saved when Damage dragged Klein to the  floor,  dropped Klein throat first across the back of a chair,  and then hit a  pump-handle slam on Klein onto a chair on the floor.   In the ring, Deranged and  Damage dropped Butcher across the  barbed wire and Damage dropped a leg across  Butcher’s back.   However, it was Butcher who would get the last laugh after  dropping  Damage face first across the barbed wire and then locked in a choke  that forced Damage to pass out, giving Butcher and Klein the win.

Detailed  Results from NWA Upstate's 12/10 "X-Mas Chaos" 2005 show

*The  main event was set up before the show even got started. Brodie  Lee, in an  expensive and fancy looking suit, hit the ring and  demanded the mic(which we  apologize for being so poor. The issue  will be fixed by 2/11). Lee demanded a  title match against NWA  Upstate Heavyweight Champion "Wonderman" Glenn Spectre  after Spectre  cost him the victory in his cage match against Abyss last show.  Spectre, accompanied by Jerk Jackson, approached ringside and  informed Lee he  would NOT get his title match, but they had something  else in mind. The two  Banana Brigade members attempted to jump  Lee, but Lee was able to fight them off  momentarily. Eventually  the numbers game got to Lee, and Spectre had him set up  for the  piledriver, until KANYON made the save!

Kanyon then asked  who  was betta than Kanyon, and we all know the answer to that  one. However, he also  asked the question if Spectre would give  him a title shot! Kanyon was coming for  SPECTRE's TITLE! But Spectre  declined the request, and was on his way out with  Jackson until  none other than Chris Hill came through the curtain. The new  Director  of Policy Enforcement(D.O.P.E.) informed Spectre that he wouldn't  have  to defend his title, and instead would team with Jackson  to take on the team of  Brodie Lee and KANYON. And if Spectre was  pinned, the winner would become the #1 contender!!!

The  main event was hot the entire time, which not only saw  great in  ring wrestling, but also brawling all over the All Star Sports Arena.  After numerous near falls, it was Brodie Lee who ended up getting  a measure of  revenge on Spectre and pinned him following the Modified  Piledriver. So Brodie  Lee is now the #1 contender, however Glenn  Spectre gave an exclusive interview  with us at Kayfabedojo.com  and we will give the news later in the week right  here!

*In  one of the more surprising moments of the show, newcomer Derek  Duncum  dominated Upstate No Limits TV champion D to the Icky in his title  match.  However, after nearly 3 minutes of a beating, D to the  Icky was able to score  the three count with the small package.  Fabulous(who became #1 contender  earlier) also had made his way  to ringside during the contest. Following the  match there were  words exchanged between the two, until out of no where IAN  DECAY  made his return to Upstate and jumped D to the Icky. The question  is why  did Decay do it? Does he have issues with D to the Icky,  or a past friendship  with John McChesney??? We hope to get some  word on this situation in the  upcoming weeks.

*In a very  heated situation, the #1 contendership to the  Six Man titles was  on the line, as the Osawa Syndicate's Gabe Saint, Kid Justice & Charisma took on the Upstate favorites of Big Cat, Triple X, and  Spazz! No  one could forget that ESW was watching from the eagle's  nest atop the Sports  Arena, not scouting potential opponents,  but making a mockery of the show and  NWA Upstate. The Syndicate  showed they are on the same page unlike the past few  shows, but  it wasn't enough to get the win this time, as the fan support was  too  much with Big Cat, Triple X, and Spazz as they have won the  rematch at the six  man titles they lost back in October. This  issue is about to explode, with ESW  pouring fuel on the fire,  taunting the Upstate wrestlers all night long. There  will be no  where to hide, and no one to step between these six men in February.

*Following intermission was the Three Way Elimination  Tag Team title #1  contenders match pitting the Olsen's vs. Dunn & Marcos vs. The Backseat  Boyz. The Backseat Boyz did not  disappoint in their Upstate debut, having  control of the match  for nearly the first 6 minutes. Trent Acid & Johnny  Kashmere  actually had Marcos eliminated following their signature "T-Gimmick"  double crucifix bomb, but the Olsens were able to hit dueling  sunset flips to  score the upset elimination. Dunn & Marcos  were able to get control back on  the Olsen's for the majority  of the match. Colin eventually made the tag to  Jimmy and looked  to have the match won, however from the back came VanAtlas, who  ran into the ring and delivered the full nelson slam to Jimmy,  allowing Marcos  to hit the senton from Dunn's shoulders and become  the #1 contenders to the tag  team titles.

*The most brutal  match of the night was without a doubt the  Dojo title match between  new champion JP Black and Eric Everlast. Black has  gotten the  better of Everlast in their past encounters, and seemed to have  this  match well in hand, until Everlast caused a DQ by hitting  JP with the steel  chair! Black was busted open from ear to ear,  and the blood was pouring. JP was  helped out to the back, but  you can guarantee the Dark Pony will not take this  one laying  down, and will no doubt be looking to get his hands on Eric Everlast,  and anyone else who gets in his way!

*Vince Beach was  able to score his  first victory here in NWA Upstate in the 8 Man  Free For All Scramble match up.  Beach was able to survive against  Z-Barr, Marc Krieger, Dewey, Luis Whiteshoes,  Czar, KI, and Maximo  Suave.

*The Banana Brigade of Jake N Bake & Freddie  Midnight took on the new tag team of Evan & Kyle McCloud. Even  though the Brigade has been together much longer than the brother  duo, it was  not enough to get back on the winning track. The McClouds  pulled off the  victory, and look to continue to rise up the tag  team ranks in NWA Upstate,  using possibly one of the most sick  moves in Rochester, the double team  lung-blower.

*The  first match of X-Mas Chaos was the #1 contender's  match for D  to the Icky's No Limits Title, pitting "Fabulous" John  McChesney(with  Star Rider) against up and comer Mastiff! This match took a scary  turn as Mastiff attempted a cross body block to the floor onto  Fabulous, but  McChesney was able to score a modified gut buster  onto his knee instead.  McChesney was able to capitalize on this  mistake by Mastiff, and is now the #1  contender to the No Limits  title. McChesney is back in Upstate, and with the  mastermind Star  Rider behind him, there is no telling how far he will go.
