365 Fitness Locations to Offer bodybugg™ by Apex Fitness Group

365 Fitness co-founders Rich Minzer and Paul Grymkowski announced today that the company will offer an express version of Apex Fitness Group’s bodybugg™ system in its licensed clubs and in its corporate locations in Los Angeles and New Jersey.  bodybugg™ is an innovative armband that allows a user to pinpoint his or her exact calorie burn, to an accuracy of 92 percent or more.  The system includes a web-based computer interface where users log their food intake and plan their menus.  Working with a fitness professional, the user manages his or her calorie intake and burn to reach a fitness goal.

In the express version, any club employee can enroll a member into bodybugg™, rather than only fitness professionals.  The system can also be sold outside of the club, such as during corporate presentations.  Club membership is not necessary.  The user receives his or her armband at the point of sale, and is given access to the website for the first three months.

The user will return to the 365 Fitness licensed club periodically for body measurements, which the computer program uses to determine what further changes are necessary to meet the user’s fitness goal.  “With bodybugg™,” says Neal Spruce, Apex Fitness Group founder & CEO, “people have the ability to view actual food intake (calories in) and energy output (calories out), putting them in complete control of their weight loss results.”

365 Fitness facilities will enjoy ongoing program and product revenue sharing for as long as the user continues using the service or purchases products—even when they move or discontinue the club membership.  The bodybugg™ express program allows 365 fitness clubs to operate as a full fitness resource that delivers complete programming without having to build and support the sophisticated staff infrastructure and manage the continual training normally required to deliver on-going high-level fitness services.
