Relive 10 years of RAW
WWE special to examine the show that changed sports-entertainment

WWE RAW – Exposed,” an upcoming special to air on the USA Network, will examine even the most controversial topics of the past 10 years of RAW, including the bitter Monday Night Wars with WCW and the Attitude era of the 1990s, which produced some of the show’s most memorable moments.  “WWE RAW—Exposed” will air three times on USA Network in October, starting Oct. 2 at 10 p.m., one night before RAW makes its much-anticipated return to the USA Network.  The show can also be seen Oct. 3 at 11 p.m., immediately after that first RAW back on USA, and Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. Monday Night RAW debuted in 1993, live from the Manhattan Center in New York City. Twelve years later, RAW celebrated the milestone of producing the most original episodes of any weekly fictional entertainment program in television history.

WWE, Inc. has come to terms on the release of former Tough Enough hopeful Brian Danovich. WWE wishes Brian the best in his future endeavors.

Kevin Nash has reportedly signed a deal with JAKKS Pacific to produce a WWE Classic Superstars action figure.  I believe it will be a Diesel figure...

I first received word from my Slyck Wagner Brown Newsletter, that Japanese wrestler Mirai passed away last week in an automobile accident.

Mirai's real name is Chiemi Kitagami, she was born on November 17, 1982.  Mirai (22) passed away following an automobile accident in Japan.  Joshi Puroresu Wrestler Gami was traveling with Mirai and pronounced her dead. Mirai debuted with AJW in Sept. 2001 and left the wrestling business after a few months. She returned for the debut of A To Z and worked there for three years before leaving to freelance in March 2005. What a tragedy for someone so young.  We send our condolences to Mirai's family, friends and fans.

Since posting this article earlier, I have been informed by some friends in Japan that Mirai did not pass away in an automobile accident.  She had suffered from depression for many years, and died in a bathtub accident.  The automobile accident was a made up story.  How extremely sad is this news.

Thanks to Chris Lewis for his opinion of HH in Cleveland:

I was kind of uncomfortable after a while watching these men and women try so desperately to recapture their glory days.  I think somewhere between 300 and 400 were in attendance.  I agree with the statement that ECW One Night Stand felt like a re-birth, and HH in Cleveland felt like a death. More on that in a moment.

It's sad watching Johnny Grunge beg for people to cheer him because he's carrying the memory of his deceased tag team partner. Axl Rotten, always entertaining and colorful, being replaced by Ian is a ripoff. Tod Gordon may have been the on air commissioner, but no one really associates him as the man who expanded ECW out of Philly. Shane Douglas looks old, bloated, and still does the same mic routines he did 11 years ago. While that most of the time works on a nostalgia show, he looks minor league doing it. Sandman is a mess, because he must not understand what his fans expect out of him. He does things that make no sense, considering who he is and what we expect from him.

Former Dudleys worked their asses off, and were by far the only act on the show besides former Justin Credible that comes off major league. It was sad when I realized they couldn't draw outside the ECW or WWE banners, though. At HH, they were just another act trying to find past glory. Jerry Lynn is a great worker, but will never make it on the big stage. Justin Credible was the best worker on the show, and looks like he can still do something. Francine is hotter now than she was in ECW.

In the end, I'm kind of sorry I went. ECW One Night Stand was an event I will remember the rest of my life. The emotional displays of RVD and Heyman and Styles really touched me. While Shane and everyone else brought a lot to ECW, it's not ECW without Paul Heyman. It's not ECW without Tommy Dreamer. RVD represents ECW to me as much as anyone. The Taz moment made me remember what a bad M.F. he was. Seeing Austin, Foley, Mysterio pay tribute was a nice icing on the cake. ECW beat the crap out of the Raw and Smackdown heels. Let's get that straight. ECW beat WWE in WWE's own ring. It was the night we all dreamed about.

That's a reunion.

Hardcore Homecoming in Cleveland was a failed attempt to rekindle glory, and in the end felt like a lot of people looking for that ego boost to justify their claims of how important they used to be.
