WWE RAW Opener:

We see footage from last week’s Raw when Shane McMahon held Shawn Michaels for Triple H to hit Shawn with the GameHammer. However, Shane was the recipient of the sledgehammer shot. Then we saw Vince’s overreaction to Shane’s fate. Vince McMahon is in the McOffice and he talks about how his son Shane was accidentally bashed with a sledgehammer. The only thing that prevented him from suffering a serious injury was his superior conditioning and genetics. He suffered a concussion. Vince says that he will be demanding an apology from Triple H. Anything other than a meaningful and sincere apology will be met with swift and vengeful retaliation.

In the arena:

Mick Foley’s music plays and he comes to the ring in a suit. Mick has something to say and he thanks everyone for their continued support in lieu of the terrible misunderstanding over the last few weeks. He wants to set the record straight. He is not a bad guy. It is OK to cheer him and that boos are not really necessary. He says that he is a lovable guy, just look at his gap toothed smile. He gives us the Mick Foley cheap pop, but then says that it is not great to be in Las Vegas. He talks about people who come to a city for the hope that their lives can change on the roll of the dice or a spin of the wheel. It is more admirable to earn things, like he did when he became a three time World champion. He did not win those titles by rolling a seven at the craps table. He did not become a two time New York Times Bestseller by putting a quarter in a Slingo machine. His guest also earned things, like his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania as well as being the highest rated champion in the last five years. Mick brings out Edge and Edge comes out with Lita. Mick comments on Lita’s appearance tonight. He is not going to apologize for having the greatest hardcore match at Wrestlemania. He does not care what people like Tommy Dreamer or Terry Funk thing. Edge embodies everything that hardcore is all about, not the slime that oozed out of ECW. That is why Mick is presenting Edge with the hardcore title belt. Mick tells Edge that ‘he’s hardcore’. Mick says that he is un-retiring the title because Edge deserves it.

Edge says that he does not know what to say. Mick was right because everything that he earned in during his career he deserved. He cannot accept the belt because Foley forgot one thing. Edge says that he has the hottest girl in Vegas going to bed with him tonight. He says that Mick had to fight in bingo halls and bite his tongue while Ric Flair called him a glorified stuntman. While he kicked Foley’s ass at Wrestlemania, Foley deserves to be the hardcore champion. Mick wants to know why Edge is giving back a present. Mick points out that it is interesting the man who called him a glorified stuntman earned his Wrestlemania paycheck. Mick says that Edge and he both think they deserve the hardcore title and that is to face each other one more time and beat the hell out of each other. Edge asks the fans if they want to see Mick Foley and Edge go at it one more time. Edge says that he has a better idea. Edge whispers something into Lillian Garcia’s ear. Lillian announces that Edge and Mick Foley are the co-Hardcore champions. The ECW music plays and Paul Heyman comes out and he has a mic. Paul asks Las Vegas for some advice. He wants to make sure that this is the only state where it is legal and there is live prostitution on Monday Night Raw. Paul says ‘ho ho ho ho’ and the crowd joins in. Paul says that he was not talking to Lita; he was talking to Mick Foley. Cards on the table, he calls Mick Foley a prostitute. He is a legend who gave his blood, his sweat, and his tears and sacrificed for these people. He took time away from his family for these people and he is going to prostitute himself for Edge and Lita. Paul tells Mick that he prostituted his name and legacy, but he will be damned if he will prostitute the name of ‘hardcore’. He tells Mick to tell Paul what it is like to look in the mirror and see the reflection when it is a shell of your former self.

Mick tells Paul that is not what he sees when he looks in the mirror. He sees the co-holder of the WWE hardcore championship. He sees a WWE superstar. He sees a real life action figure. He sees a best selling author, and he is working on a book to be released this spring. He says that it is interesting because Paul has nothing. He is not the general manager of Smackdown and he owns nothing. He tells Paul to go back into his hole in the ground to let Edge and him enjoy their fun. Paul says that he is a cog in a wheel and a peon. He does have some power. That power is to make a challenge. He talks about ECW One Night Stand, on June 11th. He suggests that the co-holders of the ‘hardcore’ title face two dregs of society that he can drag out of the Bingo Hall for an extreme experience that neither of them can deny. Mick suggests that Paul leaves the WWE building and listen to the voice of a WWE superstar as Mick says ‘no freaking way’. Paul laughs and Mick wants to know why he is laughing. Paul says that he is looking at the three of them and realizes that Lita is the only one in the ring with any nuts. Edge tells Paul to pick any two ECW ‘nobodies’ at One Night Stand. Edge tells Mick that they should show Paul what hardcore is all about. Paul wants to know if they want to do it right now, then here are their opponents, Terry Funk and Tommy Dreamer. Funk hits Foley with a cookie sheet while Dreamer hits Edge with the trashcan. Dreamer tries to hit Edge with a kendo stick, but Edge ducks. Foley is Irish whipped into the ring steps by Funk. Funk pulls out a barbed wire baseball bat while Edge, Foley, and Lita head into the crowd. We go to commercial.
