Funk's Corner - Father and Son Tag Team Debut on !BANG! TV
Johnny Magnum is the Funking Conservatory World Champion. He stands 6' 1" tall and weighs in at 250 pounds. Johnny is a war veteran with two trips to Iraq and one to Afghanistan to his credit. He is an ordained minister and owner of his own business, Downing Construction of Ocala, Florida.
Johnny's Son, Janiah Downing stands 6' 5" tall and weighs in at 310 pounds. Janiah just finished a career as offensive lineman for the 9 and 2 Illinois State Redbirds .
At the Funking Conservatory's !BANG! TV Taping last week, for the first time, Johnny and Janiah teamed up to perform as a Father and Son Tag Team.
In one of the wildest endings to a wrestling match on !BANG! TV that spawned "Cat Fight 3," and ended with the referee knocked flat on his face, Johnny and his son Janiah became the Funking Conservatory Tag Team Champions.
The tag team championship belts they wear are made from the same leather straps as the Amarillo Territory's Western States Championship Belts that were worn in the early 70's by my father, Dory Funk Sr. and myself.
