ISPW MAKES RETURN WITH DOUBLE SHOT THIS PAST WEEKEND; JUDAS YOUNG CAPTURES ISPW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
When it was all said and done with, Judas Young walked away with the ISPW Heavyweight Championship after a thirty-plus minute Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match on Saturday night, April 21st in Newton, NJ at Newton High School. The match featured Young, Crowbar, Mr. Stronko, and former four time ISPW Heavyweight Champion, "Mr. Main Event" Ace Darling. Young scored the victory over Stronko to claim his first ever Heavyweight Championship. Stronko had won a qualifying match earlier in the night to advance to the TLC match by scoring a pinfall victory over "The Rocker" Marty Jannetty. After the match, Stronko grabbed the championship and was set to hit Young with it, but handed it him instead. Stronko told the crowd that Young deserved the championship and that one day Young would be holding WWE gold. Stronko told Young he'd see him there as well, and the two grapplers embraced to the delight of the crowd. The entire locker room then cleared and raised Young up on their shoulders to celebrate. Judas Young is your new ISPW Heavyweight Champion.
The events this past weekend were originally promoted under the name Championship Wrestling From New Jersey, but after the events that took place this past weekend, management decided to switch the name back to it's original name of Independent Superstars of Professional Wrestling. ISPW was one of the hottest independent promotions in the country several years back, including running over forty live events in 1999, including weekly sell-outs at the Wildwood Convention Center in Wildwood, NJ. Judas Young now enters an elite group of former ISPW Champions that includes the late Chris Candido, "Head Shrinker" Samu, and former four time champion "Mr. Main Event" Ace Darling.
