Middle Tennessee was bombarded with wrestling over the past week.  The National Wrestling Alliance held its 57th National Convention in the Nashville area last week.  With three wrestling-packed nights, the NWA gave the fans a taste of NWA’s worldwide organizations top wrestlers.

If you missed this event, there will not be another one like it.  The Nashville area fans were privy to the final NWA National Convention.  Announced over the NWA’s official website, officials are stating that there will eliminate the annual convention.  Instead, the board of directors, which were named over the weekend, would meet annually for a three-day meeting for membership organizations.

Former NWA President Bill Behrens announced on Saturday night that a new NWA Board of Directors had been named.  “At the meeting a new operating agreement was voted by the organization. In one key and major change, NWA legal council Bob Trobich became the organization’s executive director, reporting to the Membership through a newly elected Board of Directors,” the NWA stated in a recent press release.  “Elected to the new Board were Ed Chuman (NWA Midwest), Mike Porter (NWA Main Event), Danny McClain (NWA Battle Zone), David Marquez (NWA New Japan), Alvin Minnick (NWA Mid-South), and Rick O’Brien (NWA Virginia). The titles of President and Vice-President were eliminated. Trobich, who is based in Charlotte, NC, will be the primary contact and decision maker for all NWA business. The organization also retained Kevin Thomas to serve as the organizations accountant.”
