National Wrestling Superstars return to its old way of doing things...selling out buildings...as nearly 200 people packed the Bergenfield VFW Hall on Friday, May 19th to see the debut (and future return) of NWS Wrestling.
Nicky Oceans def Fantastic Maxx in a match that saw both wrestlers go at it for nealy 12 minutes before Oceans hit Maxx with a pile-driver finish off the top rope. Ocenas, who played the heal during the match, had the fans chanting "Oceans Sucks", which only intensified the ire of Nicky who took this anger out on Maxx.
After the opening match, Johnny Candido took over center ring telling NWS promoters he had an open contract, that he wanted to be in the main event since he had defeated everyone in his way since coming to NWS including winning the Hardcore title two weeks ago in Edison. NWS Promoters gave him his wish in the main event against Brutus The Barber Beefcake in a Loser Gets A Haircut Match. Candido agreed but would not put the title on the line (involking his 30 day clause)
The second match saw one half of the Badda Big Boys, Bulldog Collere def J.D. Smooth in a match where Smooth continued to get under the skin of the NWS fans. He tried chopping the much larger Bulldog, only to find out what a 230 pound man can do in retaliation (ouch)
The third match was a return match from Park Ridge last weekend that saw NWS tag team champions The Baghdad Bullies (TNT & Saddam Insane), with King Du I Stinq (minus his 32nd wife who went for diamond therapy) def The Off Brothers (Ticked and Jump) with their manager Flew. The Bullies came with Hasheem Ali and Johnny Candido. To make things fair, The Offs brought out the Badda Bing Boys. Commissioner Gino Moore sent Candido, Ali, Bulldog and Gumba back to the locker room and the match started. After TNT pinned Ticked, Ali and Candido came from the locker room and started a 5 on 3 before Gumba and Bulldog and Brutus The Barber Beefcake came to the ring, making it a 5 on 6 (actually 6 on 6 with Stinquee) and bodies were flying everywhere.
After inermission
The other half of the Badda Bing Boys, Gumba Fanatare wrestled NWS heavyweight champion Hasheem Ali (managed by King Du I Stinq). Ali and Stinquee kept tossing a chain back and forth to each other to weaken Gumba and had much of the match in control. However, Gumba got the chain from Ali, hit him square in the chin and scored the 1-2-3 for the win. When the referee awarded Gumba the title, Stinqee pointed out that Gumba had a chain in his tights. The referee saw this and reversed the decision, giving the win to Ali (still champion)
In another rematch from Park Ridge, Antonio Malave def NWS Jersey Shore Champion Corvis Fear. Fear, like Candido informed NWS officials that he would not be putting his title on the line for two reasons: he already defeated Malave in the last 30 days and Bergenfield is not at the Jersey Shore. Lots of great action on both parts with the crowd behind Fear in the beginning chanting Antonio when he won the bout.
the main event saw WWE legend Brutus The Barber Beefcake def Johnny Candido (with King Du I Stinq) in a Loser Gets A Haircut Match. As Beefcake was cutting Candido's hair, Stinquee attacked the WWE Hall of Famer and proceeded to receive a haircut himself.
