From the outset, one can telll G4TV's X-Play doesn't like pro wrestling.  In the opening of Thursday's show, when they listed the big games they would be reviewing, the announcer described Smackdown VS. raw as the most homo-erotic action since Brokenback Mountain (the movie about gay cowboys.)  When the segment in which the game was reviewed, Morgan Webb called pro wrestling fake, and co-host Adam Sessler called it homo-erotic.  But despite those comments, WWE Smackdown VS. Raw 2006 for the Playstation 2 got a great review.

The review was done by Sessler.  In it, he again made another homo-erotic reference as well as the tights pro wrestlers wear.  He also made a rather controversial comment concerning Eddie Guerrero.  He said the legal department told him he couldn't make a joke (this was a scene in the game where Guerrero was holding an urn) but he said he found it very ironic there was Guerrero holding an urn.  He said if you laughed, you were going to hell, they then showed the Undertaker.

So what did they like about the game?  The wide selection of both current and legend WWE superstars.  Sessler also praised the graphics, create a wrestler mode, and authenticity (IE: the full entrances and theme songs of the wrestlers.)  He also praised the game for having actual wrestlers do the voice acting, and the authenticity of what they did.  For example, they showed Booker T. talking to the created wrestler (green skin, wearing a thong, ridiculously made on purpose) and Booker did his "can you dig that, sucka."  Another strong point for the game was the variety of matches available.

So despite numerous low-brow comments, Sessler realized this was a great wrestling game.  So it got a 4 out of 5.
