REPORT & PHOTOS FROM C2E2 IN CHICAGO

C2E2 was very wrestler-heavy this weekend. All Elite Wrestling, who had a PPV at the nearby Wintrust Arena, had several of their stars appearing at C2E2, along with several other wrestling legends at different booths.
As expected, the AEW lines were incredibly long, but well-organized. Unfortunately, I missed most of their talent, but I did get to meet MJF with Wardlow and Joey Janela. MJF stayed in character, barking not to touch him and other insults during the photo op. I respect the kayfabe and had no issues with it. Joey was pleasant, thanking everyone. Although I didn’t get to meet any others, I heard all good reports about Cody, Dustin, Orange Cassidy, Britt Baker and others.
Chicago’s own CM Punk was there courtesy of Pro Wrestling Tees. Punk was relaxed and in great spirits, taking time with everyone. I talked to him about his movie, comic books, Chicago sports and AJ. He remembered me and thanked me for attending the National Alliance For Mental Illness benefit where AJ was the keynote speaker.
Tommy Dreamer (with Monique Dupree), Road Warrior Animal and Raven were at the RF Video booth. All three were awesome. Animal brought his signature shoulder pads and a belt. Dreamer also brought a belt. All gladly talked a bit about their careers as time permitted.
Noelle Foley, Frank the Clown, Hurricane Shane Helms, Santino Marella and Molly Holly were at another booth. Again, all were great guests, eagerly discussing their careers and posing as requested. I brought my own own nose to see Frank and then he provided the mullet wig. We all had a big laugh with this picture.
I also ran into two local favorites from the indy wrestling scene. Nick Hausman has worked in several area of wrestling and entertainment. Joey Roth is the current IPW Chicagoland Champ, although he is more often one of the most active managers around.
Even though I missed some of AEW’s talent, I still met plenty of wrestlers this year.
