KOBASHI UPDATE…..
Thanks to Dr. Keith Lipinski
I'll have full lineups in a new Dr. Keith Report tomorrow...
July 3rd: KENTA's three show June tour of ROH was very eventful. It saw KENTA make a challenge for a ROH World Title Match, the pride issue intensify with Samoa Joe, two dream single matches that both delivered and a new rivalry begin. Jay & Mark Briscoe raised the ire of KENTA in both Detroit and Chicago. The Briscoes jumped Roderick Strong in Detroit after KENTA's match against Strong. KENTA felt disrespected that The Briscoes would run in while he was in the ring so he made the save for Strong. The next night in Chicago, Jay & Mark jumped KENTA and Austin Aries after their match until Strong made the save. KENTA now wants to get The Briscoes in the ring. Someone else caught the attention of KENTA. The NOAH superstar was very impressed with Davey Richards. KENTA wants to see what Richards brings in the ring. Here are KENTA's ROH matches in August:
July 3rd: August 4th in Long Island will see KENTA team with Davey Richards to take on Jay & Mark Briscoe. This one features four of the hardest-hitting, most explosive athletes in ROH today. You can now get tickets for only $10 as part of the big sale at ROHwrestling.com.
July 3rd: On August 5th in Edison, NJ KENTA will really get to test Richards. It will be KENTA vs. Davey Richards. The newcomer Richards has already proved himself against Jimmy Rave. On August 5th he will be faced with the biggest match of his life. Tickets for ROH's huge return to Edison are also part of the $10 sale at ROHwrestling.com. Act now because the $10 sale ends on Wednesday.
July 3rd: Well as you know by now there is a big $10 sale at ROHwrestling.com that includes over 75 DVDs as well as tickets to 7/15 in Philadelphia for Cage Of Death, 7/28 in Dayton for BJ Whitmer vs. Necro Butcher in a No Rope Barbed Wire Match, 7/29 in Cleveland for Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness and Christian vs. Christopher Daniels as well as 8/4 in Long Island and 8/5 in Edison. If you've never seen ROH before this is a great chance to pick up a ROH show DVD from 2005 like "Escape From New York" (CM Punk vs. Roderick Strong, Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries) or "The Future Is Now" (Low Ki vs. Austin Aries). There are also Best Ofs for just $10 including Homicide, Generation Next, The Briscoes, Bryan Danielson, Roderick Strong, Jack Evans, Austin Aries, Spanky and more. July 3rd: One more match has been signed for 7/15 in Philadelphia. It will be a first ever match pitting Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Irish Airborne. Can Irish Airborne's exciting high-flying style earn them the biggest victory of their career?
July 3rd: ROH Tag Team Champions Austin Aries & Roderick Strong are now the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in ROH history. Their next defense will make ROH history again as they take the belts overseas for the first time to defend them in Japan in the Dragon Gate promotion. Aries & Strong are about to make the ROH Tag Team Titles into the ROH World Tag Team Titles. However, will Aries & Strong return from Japan as champions? We will find out on July 9th when they face Yoshino & Doi.
July 3rd: NOAH announced last week that the legendary Kenta Kobashi has been diagnosed with kidney cancer. Kenta Kobashi gave ROH one of the most memorable and historic weekend's in company history. ROH was fortunate enough to bring Mr. Kobashi to New York City for "Joe vs. Kobashi" featuring the five star Samoa Joe vs. Kenta Kobashi match and to Philadelphia at "Unforgettable" for the epic tag featuring Kobashi & Homicide vs. Samoa Joe & Low Ki. ROH officials were in negotiations to bring Mr. Kobashi back to ROH later this year for a rematch against Samoa Joe. However, we have been told that Mr. Kobashi will never make another trip to the United States again. It looks like 10/1/05 and 10/2/05 will go down in history as the highest profile matches of Mr. Kobashi's career in the United States. It was truly an honor to have hosted these bouts. We hope Mr. Kobashi a speedy recovery and we are sure he will return to the ring in Japan at somepoint. It has been proven that this man is a warrior and will win the battle with cancer.
July 3rd: Have a safe and happy 4th. We'll be back by Wednesday night with more new matches.
