We always find it cool when we have a family tree as past guests on our show. For example, we had Bruno and David Sammartino on our show. We had Ric and David Flair on our show. We’ve had Dusty Rhodes and have made no bones about our desire to have Cody on our show and are working on it. Today, that family tree gets another branch as we welcome Tessa Blanchard. Her father is TUlly Blanchard and her step-father is Magnum TA, both former guests on our show. Tessa joins us to discuss her journey to Impact Wrestling and the pressures of being a 3rd generation talent.

TESSA BLANCHARD:
On why now was the right time to finally join the Impact roster:
“I think that everything happens for the right reasons at the right time. With Impact, I feel they’ve been making real strides over the past 10 to 12 months. They’ve got some of the hottest free agents and they’ve locked them down – Brian Cage, Pentagon, Fenix, Fantasma, Taya! So, what better place than to have Tessa Blanchard go to Impact Wrestling, right?”
On her experience thus far at Impact:
“Since I’ve been there, it’s been an adjustment. It’s been fun! It’s been… It feels right. Whatever decision I make, I usually go with my gut. This time, it felt right.”
On the pressures of being a 3rd generation talent
“A lot of people ask me if it is different having a family background in wrestling. A lot of people ask me if it is hard having my dad (Tully Blanchard), my step-dad (Magnum TA), and my grandfather (Joe Blanchard) in the business to carry on their legacy and if that adds extra weight on my shoulders. It does and it doesn’t. My dad was an original Four Horsemen. He is a WWE Hall of Famer. But also, that’s been my dad since I was born. That’s always just been dad to me. He’s always been hard on me. He’s always expected the best from me. He’s always pushed me to be the best I can be because he knows what I’m capable of. That pressure it adds, I use it to motivate me because I have huge respect for my grandpa, my dad, and my step-dad and I never want to disappoint them. I always want to carry on our family name with dignity and respect but also, I want to forge my own path also. It is all a huge blessing!”
