BOCKWINKEL AND CORINO MEET AT WRESTLE REUNION!
Current AWA World heavyweight champion Steve Corino met a hero of his on Saturday morning at Wrestle Reunion in Valley Forge in the name of former AWA World champion Nick Bockwinkel.
Bockwinkel and Corino talked for over an hour about the state of the pro-wrestling business and Bockwinkel gave Corino some great advice about being the AWA World champion.
"You have a tough road ahead of you young man" Bockwinkel said, "There are many people that will bury the AWA and what you guys are trying to accomplish but remember that Verne (Gagne) was in that same position in 1959 when he broke away from the NWA. You need to defend that championship with honor and build it up again."
Corino told www.AWAStars.com and www.WORLD1Wrestling.com that it truly was an honor to meet and talk to Nick Bockwinkel. "Mr. Bockwinkel gave me great advice and for him to spend time with me was unbelievable." Corino says, "I took everything he said seriously and if I ever become 1% of the World champion Mr. Bockwinkel was then I would consider myself a success."
