Lots of news……

I just received a call from my friend Johnny Diamond, who informed me that Prime Time Elix Skipper just texted him that his Mom isn't doing very well.
Doctors are telling Elix, his mother only has a very short time left.
We want to ask everyone to keep Elix and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Trish Stratus' is going to be featured on an upcoming episode of The Dairy on MTV (in Canada) on Tuesday, January 16th at 7 pm.

Konnan had his hip surgery on Thursday in Monterrey and it was a success. He is still in Monterrey because they don't want him to fly for another week. He's expected home on Wednesday. He won't be appearing at the TNA show tomorrow or the tapings on Monday night.

Giant announcement  --  Revenge served Raw

A little bird told me that Steve "Dr. Death" Williams will be at RAW tomorrow night.

I am very concerned about the fans who bought advanced tickets for the Ward Fan Fair.
When they all received mail from Marvin Ward, it stated that your PayPal money would be returned with 48 to 72 hours.  Well as of today, one week later, no money has been returned.  And I also know of one fan who paid via snail mail, who wasn't even informed the show was cancelled, until I called him.   (Update - Some of our readers have received a full refund. If you have NOT received yours yet, contact:  [email protected])

Greg Valentine will be doing a seminar on 2/10 at Turners Hall in Cleveland at 7:30 p.m. for $30. For more info e-mail jtlightning@aol.com

Jeff Sheridan sent along this link from Francine's my space page for items she has on eBay, which will be expiring in one day.

Jeff also sent this link of John Cena interview from NY Newsday in the Kidsday section.  http://www.newsday.com/media/acrobat/2007-01/27341679.pdf

"Talking With Wrestling Champion John Cena" by Steven Gennardo, Edward Giuffo & Rose Gould, Kidsday reporters. Email us: [email protected] . There's a photo of Cena with the 3 Kidsday reporters. On the bottom of the photo it says:"Kidsday reporters Rose Gould, left, Steven Gennardo & Edward Giuffo with WWE star John Cena". There's also a yellow dot below the photo that says:

"Did you know? Cena aka "The Champ", 1st held the US championship, winning gold 3
times before becoming WWE champ at Wrestlemania 21. Since then, he's held the
WWE Championship on 3 occasions."

Below is the interview from the article:

"We spoke with World Wrestling Entertainment champion John Cena in Manhattan recently:

Kidsday:Who was your favorite wrestler when you were a kid?

Cena:Hulk Hogan. He was like a comic book superhero.

Kidsday:Is there anyone you haven't wrestled that you'd like to?

Cena:Stone Cold Steve Austin & right behind him is The Rock.

Kidsday:What has been your favorite wrestling career moment?

Cena:My visit to Afghanistan to perform for the troops at an Air Force base. I was also
privileged to perform for the troops in Iraq.  I've never been in the military, but I'm a
supporter of all that the military stands for, such as commitment, teamwork & hard work.

Kidsday:Your dad, John Cena Sr., is a wrestling announcer [known as "Johnny Fabulous" for Chaotic Wrestling]. Did he take you to wrestling events when you were a kid?

Cena:I had 4 brothers & we couldn't go to a lot of wrestling events because it cost a lot
of money, but we always watched them on TV. I do remember my dad taking me to a
wrestling event at Beverly High School in Massachusetts which only held about 1,500
people. The main event was the Killer Bees. I had so much fun.

Kidsday:You were a football star at Springfield [Mass.] College. Who is your all-time favorite pro football player?

Cena:For offense, John Hannah; he played for the New England Patriots, my home team. He's a Hall Of Famer & was really talented. For defense, I'd say Dick Butkus [former Chicago Bears star]. He's perceived as the toughest, meanest, nastiest, most hard-nosed athlete that stepped on the football field.

Kidsday:You acted in your 1st film "The Marine". If you could play any famous movie
character, who would it be?

Cena:Darth Vader, because he was a good guy & a bad guy & the way he breathed was
intimidating.

Kidsday:You've also recorded a CD. If you could sing a duet with anyone, who would it be?

Cena:Willie Nelson, Kid Rock, Merle Haggard or Kenny Rogers.

Kidsday:What is your all-time favorite video game?

Cena:Tecmo Super Bowl [released in 1991 for Nintendo].

Kidsday:If you weren't a wrestler, what career would you have?

Cena:I'd probably be a teacher-I love history-& a football coach. I've had some great coaches in my life who were there for me when I needed help outside of football & they've made a lasting impression on me."

PWG - 1/13 - American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA
1. Frankie Kazarian def. Scorpio Sky in the Loser Leaves PWG match (great dramatic match, amazing finish that shocked everyone. Jade Chung turned on Sky after the match, only to be run off by Frankie and Dino Winood. Frankie grudgingly accepted a handshake from Sky, and Sky bowed to the fans in thanks.)
2. Rocky Romero def. Colt Cabana, replacing B-Boy who no-showed for unknown reasons (a lot of fun, basically another episode of The Colt Cabana Show with lots of zaniness and crowd interaction.)
3. TJ Perkins, Disco Machine and Nemesis def. Bino Gambino, Karl Anderson and Scott Lost after a Disco chokebreaker on Gambino (low point of the show, as the match really didn't showcase anyone, and I guess they aren't really serious about pushing Bino as a new character as he dropped his win back to Disco clean, and neither he nor Karl Anderson got any promo time, which was a major shame.)
4. Kevin Steen def. Chris Bosh in a "Suck My Cock" match to win #1 contendership to the PWG title with the Steenalizer into the turnbuckles (not as good as previous Bosh/Steen matches but still a lot of fun with some sick spots.)
5. Ronin def. Super Dragon after 3 Death Valley Drivers and several lariats. (Crowd hated this because it built far slower than the average PWG match, with both guys testing each other on the mat and showing how well they knew each other, with some hard slaps and strikes thrown in once in a while. After the match, Super Dragon flipped out on a fan, spilling a drink on him.)
6. Cape Fear defeated Los Luchas to retain the PWG World Tag Team Titles
7. The Human Tornado def. Joey Ryan in a Guerrilla Warfare Match to become the NEW PWG World Heavyweight Champion. (Incredibly bloody match with some sick and gasp-inducing spots -perfect way to close out Joey's title reign.)

CZW returned last night to the ECW Arena for one of the more unique evenings ever at a wrestling show.
Thanks to Bob Magee:
The fact that 250-300 people showed up last night to the ECW Arena, despite the Philadelphia Eagles Divisional Championship game being played is a testimony to a dedicated fanbase.
New Alhambra (ECW) Arena management has licensed DirecTV, so was able to air the game live (sans volume, except for intermissions and inbetween matches) on one of the screens while the CZW show progressed. Remarkably, it didn't interfere very much with the show at all...except for the main event, where the crowd was taken out of the match somewhat due to the Eagles's loss.
  • The opener saw Cloudy defeating Lucky, Drew Gulak, Ryan McBride, and the Great Blazini. Blazini redeemed himself after a prior appearance where he debuts to more than a few missed spots. Lucky spllatered himself with a 630 off of a platform set up in the corner of the ring down to the floor. Drew Gulak also hit an weird looking inverted Northern Lights Suplex (Southern lights?).
  • Jigsaw defeated Hallowicked to retain the CZW Junior Heavyweight Championship after the tandem of Niles Young, Derek Frazier, and Noel Harlow came out and attacked Jigsaw. After they were done stomping on Jigsaw; they then had fun with Hallowicked, where Frazier come off the top rope with his double stomp on Hallowicked.
  • In a match to earn a the Ultraviolent Underground title match against Drake Younger later on in the show, Danny Havoc defeated the debuting Vortex in a sick bumpfest.
  • DJ Hyde defeated Greg Excellent (whose character is sort of a cross between the Blue Meanie and the Human Tornado) in a squash. Excellent got to get in some of his standard comedy spots. Maven Bentley introduced
  • The Tough Crazy Bastards came out for their tag team match.
Maven Bentley proceeded to spoil the fun (well, sort of) by making the TCB match against eah other, rather than a tag match. Bentley Toby had to prove himself to stay in CZW, and the only way to do that... was to fight Necro Butcher in omne of the more sickening matches they've had; with Necrobutcher's head being driven into and through several things that heads aren't meant to be driven into and through. In the end, Toby Klein pinned Necrobutcher. Maven came out again in his Saints jersey to congratulate Toby, and offered him his job back in CZW.
After Klein accepted, Maven proceeded to fire Necro from CZW for not getting the job done (Note...a short term write out since Necrobutcher's booked for Full Impact Pro in Florida next month, working in a tag with Mad Man Pondo against The Briscoe Brothers). After the TCB tried to attack Maven, DJ Hyde made the save for Bentley. Toby then said Necro would be here next month to get his job back, because if he didn't get his job back, then Toby was going to walk with Necro.
Just as intermission was beginning, the former CZW World Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Kingston came to the ring in his air cast, and proceeded to rip it off of his leg. After heeling for awhile on the crowd (someone might want to watch his promos for how to actually be a heel, rather than a "cool heel"), he told the crowd that he'll be back "soon enough" to kick Chris Hero and Justice Pain's ass, and to take back the CZW World Title.
  • In the post-intermission match, Andy Sumner defeated Cheech and JC Ryder
  • BLKOUT (Ruckus and Sabian with Robby Mireno and Crissy Rivera) defeated Original Black Out (Onyx and Rainman), after Rain Man splashed Ruckus and Crissy Rivera through a table, but simultaneaously Sabian rolled up Onyx with his feet on the ropes to regain the CZW Tag Team Championships.
  • In the match that was originally supposed to be Nick Gage-Lufisto before her retirement due to back injury, Gage demolished Jude, and Towel Boy Eric Tuttle. The cluster$@#k had all the earmarks of a match thrown together at the last minute due to a no-show.
  • Drake Younger retained his Ultraviolent Underground title against Danny Havoc in a match featuring barbed wire and auto glass, after Vortex interfered and tried to get friendly with Drake. Younger proceeded to nail him with a vertabreaker into the barbed wire.
  • In the main event, where the crowd was killed by the Eagles loss to the New Orleans Saints just as the match was starting, Justice Pain retained his CZW title over Chris Hero after BLKOUT's interference, especially after Kingston crotched Hero on the top, allowing Pain to get the win. Post match, Nick Gage kept Pain from helping Hero as Kingston had his way with him.
Chris Hero gets up after the beatdown and says CZW isn't big enough for the two of them, so when Eddie Kingston's ankle heals, it's Kingston-Hero, loser leaves CZW.
CZW returns to the ECW Arena on February 10th.
