Summary of WWE Day Of Reckoning 2 review on X-Play
By: Dave Whitaker

On the Monday night edition of X-Play, the long-running G4TV show which reviews both PC and console video games, the recently released WWE Day of Reckoning 2 for the Nintendo Gamecube was reviewed.  The review was done by Adam Sessler.  At the start, it needs to be said that neither Sessler nor co-host Morgan Webb appear to be fans of pro wrestling, there were jokes about men rolling around and baby oil.

Sifting through the sarcasim (he called Ric Flair an 80 year-old indentured servent) and the jokes about homosexuality in the review, here's the relevant parts.  Sessler noted that the ring entrances were well-done.  He liked the variety of matches, especially the bra and panties matches.  He said the create-a-wrestler mode was ok.  The big criticism was for the lack of voice acting.  He criticized it by saying Vince "Moneybags" McMahon didn't spend the money to put wrestling sounds in the game.  In summary, he said DOR 2 was a servicable wrestling game for fans wanting a wrestling game.  But he again criticized the lack of voice talent, and said they gave WWE Day Of Reckoning 2 a 3 out of 5.

After the review, he and Webb were discussing the game a little more, noting it was a Gamecube exclusive title.  They said it was because wrestling titles sell well on the Gamecube.  That's because the Gamecube is primarily owned by kids, and wrestling has a great appeal to kids.  The segment ended with Sessler saying they realized there were plenty of adults who liked wrestling, and liked seeing men rolling around grabbing each other.
Webb said she wasn't one of them, Sessler said he wasn't either.
