Feb 13 (Reuters) - World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE.N: Quote, Profile , Research) said earnings and revenue grew in its eight-month transition period ended Dec. 31, 2006 over the previous comparable period, driven by live events, venue merchandise and home video businesses.
For the eight months, the sports entertainment company's net income was $31.6 million, or 44 cents a share, compared with $29.8 million, or 43 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
Revenue rose to $262.9 million from $247.7 million in the comparable period, the company said in a statement. (Reporting by Dilipp S. Nag in Bangalore)
