Thanks to Bill Watson of PowerWrestling.com The music of Legion of Doom hit as the tag team champions made their way to the ring. Heidenreich will face off in singles competition against Joey Mercury! The start: Mercury makes a run at Heidenreich but he gets a choke on Mercury and tosses him in the corner where he unloads on him! Heidenreich nails a clothesline and Mercury ducks out of the ring wanting nothing to do with Heidenreich. Heidenreich gets distracted by Melina and Mercury spears him in the gut and hangs him on the top rope. Mid-match notes: Mercury gains control with a standing dropkick on Heidenreich before placing him id a rear headlock. Heidenreich gets up and throws Joey off, who runs into an elbow. Heidenreich sends Mercury down with some hard right hands and then he whips him in the corner and follows up with a clothesline. He sends him to the other ropes and then gives him a big boot to the face. Mercury nails a kick on the ducking Heidenreich and throws a right hand to his cheek. The Finish: Mercury runs off the ropes and Animal grabs his foot, he turns around and Heidenreich nails him with a a choke sit down powerbomb. He covers and gets the victory! The Aftermath: After the match Nitro hits the ring and clubs Heidenreich but Animal hits the ring and takes him out. Heidenreich and Animal double clothesline both men and send them flying. Melina hits Animal in the back and he turns around and is not happy at all. He points to her and she backs into Heidenreich who lifts her up and places her on Animal's shoulders! Heidenreich climbs the top rope but is knocked off by MNM. MNM then work on Animal, tossing him into the ring steps. They then drop Heidenreich with the snapshot and leave the ring ready for next week. Backstage: Jillian Hall is with Palmer Canon in the back and he is saying how he looks forward to working with her clients next week when they go for the tag team titles. Jillian says they will win and Palmer says it will make great TV! He then looks at her and her "thing" and he says "what's that?" but he actually points to her ear rings and says they are beautiful. She thanks him and leaves the room. Stacy and Christy walk in wondering why he stopped their match last week. He says the network wants to see them in the most positive light possible and he has signed a fully clothed match for them tonight. In the arena: Cowboy Bob Orton is in the ring and he introduces his son, the man who killed the legend Undertaker, the future of this business; Randy Orton! Orton comes to the ring to join his father. Orton gets on the mic and says his father always told him that one day he would be the greatest wrestler in the world and someday this business would fall to his feet. He says his father was absolutely right and then calls him a genius. Randy then says he has a question for him and everybody in this arena, has anybody seen the Undertaker? Randy says he hasn't seen him and the crowd boos. Randy says if they love the Undertaker that much, they can go to WWE.com and bid on the new Undertaker's new DVD personally signed by them! He says the proceeds will go to the Taker's retirement fund. He says he will match dollar for dollar the bid amount and give it to the Taker next week. He offers the Taker to come next week and take it on the first Friday Smackdown! Randy says tonight he faces Rey Mysterio and unlike his Dad, Rey is not much of a father.... Randy talks about Dominic and says Rey will have to lie tomorrow when Dominic asks if Daddy won his match. The truth hurts and Rey Mysterio will fall to the R...K...O. Backstage: Josh Matthews asks Benoit if he can beat Orlando Jordan tonight. Chris Benoit says he beat the man in 25.5 seconds! He asked Josh if he knew what he could do in 25.5 seconds. Last week he made a cup of coffee, this week, he's going to go to the bathroom. He gives Josh the clock and tells him to go. He then goes and takes a leak while the match from SummerSlam is shown on a split screen. Benoit is done in 23.4 seconds! Orlando Jordan comes to the ring looking upset and he is followed by the United States champion Chris Benoit! The match: Jordan jumps Benoit as soon as he hits the ring with kicks and punches to the back. Benoit gets to his feet, grabs Jordan's arm and slaps on the crossface. Orlando Jordan taps at 23.4 seconds! The two divas make their way to the ring excited about the match. They shake hands and we are under way. The match: The two girls lock up, Stacy does a cartwheel out of an arm hold and then some weird music hits and "Sylvan" makes his way to the ring dressed like a metrosexual. He walks past the girls and poses for the crowd. Stacy and Christy laugh at him as he gets on the mic and says "that's what you call an entrance!" He then makes fun of both women and says he is sexier and more stylish. The music of hardcore Holly hits and he makes his way to the ring and the crowd chants his name! He calls Sylvan "sly" and Sylvan corrects him. Holly says nobody cares how he walks to the ring, he better get his ass out of here. Holly says like every male in this audience, he's here to watch these two hot girls get it on. Christy and Stacy smile on. Sylvan calls him "Bobby" a few times and puts him arm on his shoulder but Holly clocks him, rocks him in the face a few times and scares him off! Sylvan runs up the ramp as Holly celebrates with the girls. Backstage: Teddy Long is with the network jock and he says next week he's doing well with making the matches next week. Canon says not only will there be a world title match next week but it will be a bull rope match between JBL and Batista. Canon says JBL asked for the match and they gave him the night off. Teddy Long says they should talk about these kinds of things before decisions are made. Canon said it's a team effort. Teddy Long says next week Eddie Guerrero will face Mysterio in a steel cage! He calls Canon a playa and Canon says he likes the sound of that! Christian comes to the ring to watch the match between Booker T and Ken Kennedy. He says he has a broken nose and has a bandage over it! Booker T comes to the ring and then Ken Kennedy comes and grabs a mic and asks the ring announcer if he did a good job. He then makes fun of him and then does the introductions himself. He says he has everyone on Smackdown talking about him! He says his own name and then mocks Booker T. The start: Booker T clocks Ken in the head and works on him in the corner kicking the life out of his ribs. Booker T whips him off the ropes and nails a back elbow to his face before giving him a scoop slam in the middle of the ring. Booker picks Ken up and chops away at him. Ken throws a blow off the ropes but Booker T ducks and nails him with a kick to the chin for a two count. Mid-match Notes: Booker T is in more control after a big high back body drop for a two count. Booker picks Ken up and misses a high kick, Ken misses a kick but follows up with a big wheel kick to Booker's face. Ken takes control in the corner slamming Booker's head off the turnbuckle before stomping away on his ribs. Booker fires back out of the corner but Ken knees him in the face. Booker blocks another blow and chops away on Kennedy, Kennedy reverses a whip and nails a kitchen sink. The two men battle back and forth, Kennedy gains control and knees Booker again in the mid section, and then again. He goes to whip Booker T but Booker reverses and wrenches Ken's arm and he nails a standing high kick. Booker T gets fired up and nails Kennedy with a high cross body block for a near fall. Kennedy hangs Booker T on the top rope after an Irish whip reversal. He follows up with a neckbreaker for a near fall. Kennedy argues with the referee and then whips Booker T but Booker nails him with a forearm, two clotheslines, and a spin kick to the head! Booker whips Kennedy but Kennedy kicks him in the chest, he comes off the ropes but Booker T gives him a spinebuster followed by a spinaroonie and a crescent kick! The Finish: Christian starts mocking Booker T's spinaroonie and Sharmell comes over and puts on a headset saying she doesn't know what he's saying but he's a coward and he left Booker out there last week. Christian drops his headset and Booker T climbs the top rope. He sees Christian and his wife arguing and this allows Kennedy to nail him with hard right hands. Kennedy climbs the ropes with Booker T and has him in a fireman's carry. He then jumps off the middle rope with a fireman's carry roll through planting Booker T! He covers and gets a big win! In the arena: Simon comes to the ring on a silly cart thing and says anyone can use his Simon System to get in shape. He says even Batista, his opponent tonight uses the System!, but unfortunately, it doesn't help with intelligence. Batista's music hits and he makes his way to the ring ready to mingle. Batista grabs the mic from Simon Dean and says he heard what he was saying. He says for the life of him he cannot remember using the product. He says he's open minded, likes to be healthy, and would like to try the product. Simon gives him the milk and Batista drinks it and says he feels bigger! He starts flexing his muscles and says he feels stronger! He drinks the whole thing as Simon says "I told you it works!" Batista puts his arm around Simon and says he also feels more aggressive. The match: Batista clobbers Simon Dean, beats him around the ring and drops him with a spinebuster. He then acts weak for fun and stumbles around the ring. He grabs another Simon shake and drink it and magically he is rejuvenated! He screams and grabs the ropes and gives the thumbs down! He then plants Simon with the Batista bomb in the middle of the ring. He grabs another shake and places a foot on Simon as he holds the product endorsing it as he gets the three count! Hilarious stuff! The start: Scotty and Funaki book to the ring and they clear the ring of Regal and Burchill. Scotty works over Regal but that quickly changes when Regal and Burchill gain control. Regal nails Funaki with a T-Bone suplex and Burchill wears him down with aggressive punches, kicks, and clotheslines. The Finish: Burchill nails Funaki with a clothesline and tags Regal and the two men do their business. Funaki nails an arm drag on Burchill and is able to tag Scotty 2 Hotty! Scotty comes in cleaning house as he works over both men. He and Funaki give Regal a big back body drop. Scotty grabs Paul by the back but Paul runs him into the ropes and Regal clocks Scotty in the head. Paul nails Scotty with a shoulder breaker and then places him in a painkiller armbar. Scotty has no choice but to tap! Backstage: Eddie Guerrero is shown behind a steel cage asking Rey if he is happy. He plays with the cage as he talks about his own family getting involved in the match at SummerSlam. His own wife pushed the ladder down on him and he realized something, she wasn't just pushing the ladder to save Rey's family, because when he looked into her eyes, he realized that Rey had gained his family and he had lost his. He lost his kids, his wife, (in Spanish..) all of it. He then says it's Rey's fault, but then again, it's not... it's his fault. It's his fault that he lost everything because he had him, so many times, he had him at the edge of defeat but he toyed with him, he wanted to make him suffer, and he made the mistake of giving Rey a chance. He says he's not going to make that mistake again. Next week, in the steel cage, Rey is going to have to take him on. Eddie then asks Rey how he can beat something, someone, that has already lost everything.... Randy Orton makes his way to the ring with his father as Smackdown heads to a commercial break. When we come back Rey Mysterio makes his way to the ring to a standing ovation as he is set to take on the Legend Killer. The start: Orton mocks the height of Mysterio as the two men circle. Orton kicks Mysterio in the ribs and he goes to throw Rey over the top but Mysterio uses the ropes to hang on but Orton nails him with a forearm sending him to the mat. Orton tosses Mysterio back in the ring where he tosses him off the ropes and chops him down. He slaps Rey around on the head, he whips Rey off the ropes but Rey nails a major stalling flying headscissors, Randy gets up and he's upset. He chases Mysterio around the ring but Mysterio does a 619 spin on the air and Orton going for him goes flying through the ropes! Mid-match Notes: Mysterio gets on the top rope and he mocks Orton! Orton comes back in the ring but Mysterio works him over into the corner where he kicks away on him. Mysterio gives him a standing 12 punch/forearm combo and Orton stumbles around the ring. Orton grabs Mysterio and whips him, Rey slides under him but Orton kicks him in the gut. Orton then grabs Rey Mysterio and slides him through the bottom rope sending Mysterio flying and crashing belly first onto the hard mat outside. Smackdown cuts to a commercial break as Mysterio is in trouble. When we come back Randy Orton is wrenching on the neck of Mysterio with a rear choke. During the break Mysterio crashed back first into the turnbuckle and now Orton goes to work on it. Mysterio is falling asleep as Orton works him to the mat. Orton lets go of the hold as he was using a choke and was caught so he delivers a knee to Mysterio's forehead off the ropes instead. He smacks Rey's head around in the corner before stomping a hole in him. Orton walks around the ring and this costs him as Mysterio gets two boots to his chest followed by a bunch of kicks and a baseball kick to Orton's knee. Orton gets back on the offensive giving Rey a big atomic drop and sending him face first into the middle turnbuckle. He follows up with a big uppercut and he covers for a two count. Orton goes back to the choke, dragging Mysterio around the ring like a rag doll. Mysterio works his way out but Orton grabs him by the back of the head and slams him down to the mat. He picks Rey up and delivers a knee to his head before stepping on his face by the ropes. Orton picks Mysterio up again and he goes for a vertical suplex but Mysterio shifts the balance and nearly gets a three count with a small package! Mysterio kicks Orton and springboards off the ropes to nail his bulldog! Both men are down as the 10 count starts, Mysterio makes the cover but only gets a two count. Mysterio gets to his feet and comes off the ropes but Orton meets him with a dropkick. He covers twice but Mysterio won't give up. He covers again to get the same result. Orton talks to his Dad and then stomps on Mysterio some more. Orton climbs the top rope and sits on it before standing on the second rope. Orton checks out his elbow but he meets boots to the face! Orton falls right in place for the 619! Mysterio realizes it but Orton gets up in time, Mysterio meets him with kicks and a high cross twisting body springboard off the ropes for a two count! Orton nails him with a forearm, Mysterio fights back, jumps over the ropes and nails Orton with a senton! Mysterio torques the neck of Orton as he tries to sit back up! He covers but only gets a two count! The Finish: Mysterio walks towards Orton but Orton tosses him into the second rope. Orton goes for the RKO; Mysterio kicks him in the face. Orton clobbers him though and whips him to the corner but Mysterio jumps up and locks the head of Orton in his feat with a head scissor. Orton gets tossed right on the middle rope! Mysterio nails him with the 619! Mysterio tries to get to his feet and he is ready for the drop of the dime but Bob Orton grabs his foot! Mysterio is stalled but jumps up anyway. The referee is yelling at Bob Orton, Mysterio flies in the air but Orton catches him with a fist to the groin, literally catches him in a low blow. He lets him down and then places him on the top rope. Orton executes a top rope RKO and covers Mysterio to get the victory! WWE Smackdown! - Quick Match Results - Heidenreich def. Joey Mercury
