Georgie:

A positive review for Signamania.

I did not attend the first one but bought the Superticket for this one.  I was given a number in the 30's, but as long as you were in the top 50, you were in pretty good shape.  More on that later.

Doors opened at 9.  George had a nice array of 8x10s ready for purchase as you walked in the door.  He had plenty of them for sale, which is always appreciated since at some shows, this is a problem.

First a note on the vendors.  K and S rocked with Chief Jay Strongbow and Bob Backlund.  (I had already met Haku so I passed).   Got a nice Polaroid with the Chief and had him sign a nice K&S 8x10, as well as my WWE greatest 50 magazine.  Also bought a Chief Classic fig from Chairshot Figs, for a reasonable $20.00, considering they are either too hard to find or too $$$.  I had Chief sign that as well.

It was awesome to meet Backlund again.  I had met him at an LOTR show years ago but since then, his classic fig came out, and I found an old poster that I have been having legends sign (Bruno, Morales, Putski, Garea, Atlas, etc.).  I had Bob sign those items, as well as the WWE greatest 50 cover.  I also paid for a Polaroid of him putting the chicken wing on me- a really great photo opp worth every penny.

There was a little commotion with the Backlund line, as some people were told to wait in the hallway, while others started waiting at the Backlund table.  Cost us an extra few minutes but not the end of the world.  Ken and Steve are truly great guys and very good to deal with.

Other vendors included Greg Price bringing in James Mitchell.  I bought the photo opp/ 8x10 combo and Greg printed out a great picture of me and Mitchell.  I also bought a Mitchell figure, which he signed as well.

Wrestling Ink brought in Steve McMichael and Blue Meanie-  I bought photo opp/8x10 combos with both of them.  Nice 8x10s were provided and the talent was very friendly to deal with.  I was very happy with those photo opps.

Big time thumbs up to all vendor guests and those that brought them in.

Now onto Signamania.

Interesting way that they worked the lines.  They told 1-50 to line up, in no particular order.  You would all go through the autographs line, with each wrestler at a separate table, and a worker there to collect autograph tickets.  After you went through the line, 1-50 would immediately line up and get their photo opps taken.  All wrestlers would stand, and the photo opps would go very quickly.

Then 51-100 would do the same thing, autos, then photos.  Then General admission autos would go, then general admission photos.

The autograph line took a little slower then I would have expected but it was not too bad overall.  Being in the first 50, I would say it took a little over an hour to finish with my auto and photos for the morning session.  The afternoon line maybe a little longer but pretty much the same.

The talent was very fan friendly.  I had been trying to catch up with Valentine for years now, since I have his figure to get signed.  Lawler was really nice, signed his book, 8x10 and figure really nicely.  Sunny complained that I had her figure before she even did (Ringside shipped it to me Friday, great timing).  Alfonso, Kamala, Nastys, Hemme, Nikita, Magnum, Animal, Orndorff, Koko- I had met them all previously but had things for them to sign- all really nice.  The Steiners were fine too, I found Rick to be friendly but Scott, not so much (not rude, just doesn't seem as happy to be there).  I have met  Sabu numerous times so it was okay with me that he did not show.  There is generally at least 1 no show at these things- I predicted it would be Hammer since he has missed a few shows I had hoped to meet him at-  however, I am glad I was mistaken on that one.

The room was a little cramped- fortunately it was a nice day, otherwise, it might have been somewhat of a mess, if you couldn't spend time hanging outside as well as inside.  They seemed to attract a nice size crowd and had some sellouts.

Nice touch with the pretzels for sale.

Overall, a great experience, a lot of fun, a successful show in my eyes.  I would definitely go back depending on the talent roster and would definitely recommend the show.

Dear Georgie

Just wanted to write a quick note about Signamania. George put on such great convention I have no idea how he or anyone else will be able to top it. Every wrestlers was so nice and friendly it was just unbelievable. My kids just loved the Nasty boys and Animal. I really hope all the other conventions take notes from the way George did his. It was the BEST
