Mike reviews Best of ECW/WCW

Best of WCW:

Ric Flair

Very nice figure and strongly detailed. The headscan
looks great, but it’s a tad on the big side. He has
his light purple boots and dark purple trunks with the
dark purple kneepads, which can easily be slid down to
the proper place that Flair wears them. The figure
comes with the WCW world title, also known in the WWE
as the World Heavyweight title.

Overall grade: A

Eddie Guerrero

Great figure with a great headscan, again, this scan
seems to be a bit on the large side but it works
nicely. Eddie has the classic singlet designed attire
with the red designs. The skin tone is painted on the
torso. Eddie comes with a cooler, which is a nice
accessory, but I don’t know why he has it.

Overall grade: A-

Chris Benoit

Nicely painted figure. I love the classic 4 Horsemen
logos on the tights and on the shirt. The headscan is,
well not my favorite. It does have Benoit’s mullet
styled haircut though. I don’t think it looks much
like Benoit due to the large head (yes, like the
others, this head is on the big side too.) and the
fact that it is an open mouth scan with all the teeth!

Overall grade: B

“Sick Boy” Billy Kidman

Nice figure, it may have some playability issues
though due to the Cena legs. Jakks even went and
painted on the socks. This figure had the old RA 2
Kidman scan which fits perfectly for the Sick Boy
gimmick. The accessory is a black hat, which you will
see Kidman wearing a lot especially during this time
period.

Overall grade: A

Rey Mysterio

Very nice figure, also a very detailed figure. This
figure came from when Rey had the full body suit in
WCW.  I believe he only wore it a hand-full of times.
Anyway, back to the figure.  Not only did Jakks
include paint all the way around the figure, but they
added the logos to the back as well. The scan is the
AD 12 scan with the crown logo instead of the cross he
now wears. This figure comes with a chair, which is a
great addition to any figure.

Overall grade: A

“Lion Heart” Chris Jericho

My personal favorite, the headscan is perfect for
Jericho but like the others it’s a tad big. The tight
design and color is great. Jakks did a great job on
the neon yellow and adding the lion logos to the
sides. They even included the “ROLE” and “MODEL” on
his kick pads, which was his gimmick at the time.
Jakks used the super heavyweight torso on Jericho, I
think it fits nicely. He comes with a microphone,
which shouldn’t be a surprise for all those
Jerichoholics!

Overall grade: A+

Best of ECW:

Bubba Ray Dudley

Amazing figure, it uses the Adrenaline 8 Bubba body in
a more ECW type manner. Bubba has the classic tye-dyed
Dudley Boyz shirt with black shorts. Jakks used the
old Bubba scan, which works perfectly for this figure.
Not only does it say “DUDLEY BOYZ” on the front, but
it also has the classic “3D” on the back. Detail is a
must with these figures; Jakks even included the “3D”
on the right boot like Bubba wears (D von wears his on
the left boot) This figure even comes with the Dudley
Boyz’ most popular weapon, the table.

Overall grade: A+

Stevie Richards

“Three words: WE’RE TAKING OVER!” which is a classic
Stevie quote from his ECW days. I really like this
figure; Jakks pulled out all the stops to get Stevie’s
attire right considering how different his attire is
from everyone else’s. Jakks gave him the short shorts
and the short shirt that he always wore in ECW. The
shirt logo looks great, although it should look more
like the now logo. Also, in the later days of the bWo
Stevie wore a blue shirt with white text (as seen at
ECW One Night Stand) This Stevie has the AD8 headscan,
I would have rathered a new one, but this one will
suffice. He comes with a Stop sign, which is a great
accessory for anyone re-creating any ECW matches.

Overall grade: A

D Von Dudley

Nicely done figure, with a rather nice choice of
parts. As some of you may know, D Von wore overalls in
ECW. Jakks tried to recreate D Von’s attire with the
parts they had, and it worked pretty nicely. They used
the CS 2 Sgt. Slaughter torso and the John Cena leg
mold (shorts). The shirt is painted very nicely to
give it that tye-dye look even though I would have
rathered him and Bubba to match or for D Von to have
the purple Dudley Boyz shirt. The one thing that eeks
me is the long boots that Jakks gave him, I don’t
recall D Von wearing long boots like that, not to
mention the “3D” logo on the boots is missing. Jakks
could have really done a lot on this figure by making
an overalls mold, but they did a good job with the
parts that they have.

Overall grade: B

Rhyno

Although it was “Rhino” in ECW, I can understand with
all the copyrights and legalities. This is a nicely
done figure. Jakks had all the designs on the singlet
and they even wrap around to the back. The only issue
I have with this figure is, Rhyno was bigger, actually
heavier. The torso Jakks gave him makes him look like
Rey Mysterio. The headscan looks great, but like the
other new head scans, it is a tad on the large side.
Not many gripes with this figure, the designs are
painted very nicely.

Overall grade: A-

Rey Mysterio

Very nice figure, much like the Best of WCW one, this
Rey has he crown logo one his mask instead of the
cross. Also, this Rey has the question marks all over
the tights as well as the diamond logos. Jakks gave
this Rey kick pad boots probably to make him shorter.
The one thing I really like about the figure is there
are no tattoos and he has the question mark arm bands
like he use to wear. Great figure, the head may be a
little big, but personally I think it’s fine.

Overall grade: A

Rob Van Dam

One of my favorite RVD’s thus far. This figure has the
“tiger” singlet, which he wore in both ECW and the WWE
(InVasion). The singlet is perfect; Jakks gave it that
airbrushed look. There is even a back design on the
singlet, which is very rare with RVD figures. The back
design is a continuation of the front with “RVD” along
the top of the singlet. There is even a side design on
the figure. Down the right thigh it says “MR. PAY PER
VIEW”. This may be the most accurate RVD yet. The only
problems with the figure are: the kick pads should say
“VAN DAM” instead of RVD and I personally think RVD
needs a new headscan.

Overall grade: A+
