…..

Hi Georgie!
Just wanted to send you a quick recap of my day at LOTR (eventually, I will do a full one on my site but not before Monday).

We arrived at 8:45 am and saw a line outside. There was no one, other than those on the line, to ask what the line was for. So, while Ron and Frank stayed on that line, I went inside to see what was going on. I was told, by James, to go to the far end of the hall and enter the SuperTicket room to find my seat and my badge holder. I did so.

By that time the GA fans were also in the vendors room.

The place was packed. It was a fairly small vendors room and an even smaller room where the LOTR guests had their signing blocks.

At 9:30 they announced the first block of guests and SuperTicket holders 1-25 went through the line for their photo ops. They then did 1-50. After that they just called "All SuperTicket Holders" but it still worked out fine. All the wrestlers there were in good moods and seemed genuinely happy to be there.

They used the same method when it came time to do autographs and, while it was a little more hectic, it seemed to work out fine.

After getting my autographs I was able to hit up the few vendor guests that I actually needed. (see photos).

The afternoon block worked the same way. This time there seemed to be fewer LOTR staff to help with photo ops so Mark, from Canada, and I just took pics for each other.

After the photo ops, I noticed a line in the hallway for Ric Flair. I got on it (as I didn't know what else to do). James soon walked by and I asked him if I was where I was supposed to be. He made sure to lead me to the area where SuperTicket holders lined up for Flair.

The Flair room was very well organized. Ric would sign 15 - 20 autographs first, then he would do the photo ops. When I got up to Ric for my photo op he couldn't help to comment on how Texas was losing at the moment. Of course, I was telling him thanks a lot, that's when the snapped my photo. Thus my lovely mug.

After Flair, I headed back to the SuperTicket room where it was suddenly not going by numbers. I'm not sure why it was changed BUT I really had no problems as I made my way through the slow moving line to get all my items signed.

A few things, as mentioned, could be changed next time around but stuff like that happens at cons, especially at a new venue.

Some notes on the guests...
Glacier - Class act all the way
Howard Finkel - Genuinely thrilled to be there.
Mean Gene - In rare form.
Jake Roberts - I've seen him worse, I've seen him better.
Wendi Richter - One of the main reasons I attended and she was a doll.
Magnificent Muraco - The other reason I attended and he had a field day mocking Texas all day (until they won).
Scott Hall - In a great mood. We discussed Texas and he discussed how mad he was that he was going to miss LSU v FL due to his flight.
Killer Bees - Always great guys.
Jean Pierre LaFitte - Great guy. We talked about his days as Wall Wallace
Big Daddy V - Very quiet but nice
Tammy - She's still Sunny!
Missy Hyatt - Haven't seen her looking this good, or so happy, in a long time.
One Man Gang - One of the nicest guys I ever met and he thoroughly enjoys meeting his fans.

Overall, I had a very enjoyable day. James and Terrence do a great job and bring in some outstanding guests (other than Greg Price's NWA Legends FanFest, this is the only other wrestling convention I have done in years).
