….

Thank you again for the contest in which I won the ticket to DR2.  I attended DR 1 last year and was really looking forward to this one.
There were some really good things and a couple of disappointing things.  Overall, I thought it was a great time.
The wrestlers all seemed to be happy to be there.  Lanny Poffo greeted me with a big bear hug, because I knew him from a literacy program we worked on together a coule years back.  Rosey was especially funny.  He hoisted me up on his shoulders for a picture.  The photog needed new batteries, so Rosey had to hold me up there for a good 15 seconds!  Much later, after the actual show, I walked by him and we both laughed.  I also talked with Marty Jannetty, Knobbs, the Midnight Express, Tommy Rich, Chavo Classic and Greg Valentine.  Al Snow showed up much later, but still had plenty of time for everyone.
The wrestling show itself was pretty good.  You can't expect a classic in such a situation.  Still, the wrestlers worked hard and put on a good show.
After her match, Daffney was available for pictures as was Jimmy Hart, who also stayed late to satisfy the fans.
The disappointing part was that a few of the big names were not there, like Jim Cornette, Brian Christopher and Jerry Lawler.  Jim Neidhart was only wrestling and never was available for pictures or autographs.
The other odd part was the photo situation.  Personal cameras were not allowed, yet all of the wrestlers were not available for the 'assigned' photo op's.  I wasn't looking for free polaroids, just the ability to take them.  Then, somehow I connected with Scott Romer Photography who was there to take such photos for fans at a small cost.  He did a great job, but too few people really knew this was an option.
Other than that, I had no major complaints.  Yes, the session started a bit late.  But the lines were all short.  I got everyone I wanted easily, except for the no-shows obviously.
