Police have arrested an Ogdensburg City Councilor in the investigation of possible fraud linked to the WWE fundraising show that took place at the Ogdensburg Golden Dome last year.

Canton-based State police investigators and the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office conducted a joint investigation into the finances surrounding two WWE events held to raise money for Ogdensburg Free Academy. That investigation has resulted in the arrest of 47-year-old Kresten F. Ericksen of Ogdensburg on a count of 2nd degree Forgery.

Investigators allege that Ericksen forged a cash receipt in the amount of $8,000 from one of the events. They did not specify which event the receipt was from.

The State Comptroller's office is considering an audit of OFA finances in response to the investigations. An audit was performed by Hopper and Van House under the direction of the school district, but the school has ignored repeated requests from media under Freedom of Information laws to release the audits findings. The probe was initiated after an unrelated audit of Student Council finances. The Student Council was the sponsor of the events.

The WWE filed a complaint with State Police, saying it never got paid. A portion of the take from the events was supposed to go towards the purchase of a color marquee sign outside the dome that was never purchased.

Police say they are still continuing their investigation into the issue. Ericksen was arraigned in City of Ogdensburg court and released to the supervision of the Probation Department.
