……

WWE Diva Ashley Massaro is appearing on tonight's debut of CBS's Survivor: China at 8 PM.  I know many don't like spoilers so all I will say is she doesn't last very long.

"PLAYING THE FIELD: QB or not QB — Foxx or The Rock?

sportsblog by jason raj mcintyre

SEP 20

We happened upon a TV show this week where the guest, wrestler-turned-actor The Rock (aka Dwayne Johnson), was promoting his upcoming football movie, “Game Plan.”

The plot is as basic as it is boring — former NFL quarterback gets the daughter he didn’t know about dumped in his lap. Bye-bye Playboy Mansion, hello “Teletubbies.”

One thing we had beef with — The Rock plays a quarterback in the movie. He’s 6-foot-5, about 275 pounds and played defensive line at University of Miami. While we understand the whole movies-are-fake thing, quarterback is a real reach.

But it made us think: Who is the greatest actor to play a QB in a movie?

10. Scott Bakula, “Necessary Roughness” — Think Steve DeBerg.

9. Adam Sandler, “The Longest Yard” (remake) — Couldn’t hold Akili Smith’s jockstrap.

8. Alan Alda, “Paper Lion” — Oldie but a goodie. Was a third-stringer, but he could probably make this year’s Chiefs, no problem.

7. Damon Wayans, “Last Boy Scout” — Booted from the league for drug problems, but America loves a good comeback.

6. James Van Der Beek, “Varsity Blues” — A bit undersized, but it never stopped Doug Flutie.

5. Craig Sheffer, “The Program” — Had a bit too much Todd Marinovich in him.

4. Burt Reynolds, “The Longest Yard” (old one) — Was a star at Florida State, and probably could have run for governor, too.

3. Keanu Reeves, “The Replacements” — All the aloofness of Jim McMahon.

2. Kip Pardue, “Remember the Titans” — Better suited for a college wishbone attack than anything, but he had a cannon for an arm.

1. Jamie Foxx, “Any Given Sunday” — May even look better than Donovan McNabb has this season."
