Local authorities tangled with a more than 300-pound professional wrestler Monday afternoon

At about 12:45 p.m. Monday authorities responded to a report of a domestic dispute at 122 Robert Smalls Parkway, according to Maj. Matt Clancy of the Beaufort Police Department.

The caller told officers that her estranged boyfriend, "The Shooter" Ronnie Nolan Gossett, had come to Beaufort to visit their common children and during the visit took out a handgun and made threats to harm himself and others if their relationship did not work out.

The woman identified Gossett as a professional wrestler, though it's unclear what circuits he wrestles for.

On Monday, Gossett went to where the woman works and would not leave her alone and was intimidating her, authorities said.

Gossett of Miami, Fla., is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 350 pounds, according to authorities.

Officers ran a check on Gossett and found that he was wanted on a breach of trust charge in Greenville.

When officers caught up to a car that Gossett was in it stopped in front of the Comfort Suites Motel on Boundary Street and the subject had gone inside and then run out a different entrance into the wooded area behind the motel.

Authorities formed a perimeter and searched Gossett's room at another hotel, where they found a .38 caliber revolver.

At about 5:30 Gossett was found hiding in a stairwell at his hotel and was arrested without incident, according to authorities.

He was charged with criminal domestic violence, and Greenville authorities said they will pick Gossett up on their charges, according to Clancy.
