WWE SmackDown champ Becky Lynch sits down with News for a Q&A ahead of Sunday’s historic Evolution event
By ANDY CLAYTON
Becky Lynch wasn’t always fearless.

Yes, I know that’s hard to believe given the “Irish Lass Kicker’s” public persona and powerful ring presence. But it’s true. The 31-year-old WWE Superstar admitted to the Daily News on Friday that she was unathletic and shy as a kid growing up in Ireland.
Oh, how times have changed.
Now Lynch is standing on top of the world as the reigning SmackDown champion as she promotes her headlining role in the first all-women’s pay-per-view event in WWE history – “Evolution” – coming Sunday night. Lynch and the rest of the Divas will do battle at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and for a global audience on PPV.
“Evolution” will feature women’s title matches from Monday Night Raw, SmackDown Live, NXT and NXT UK, as well as the finals of the all-women’s tournament, Mae Young Classic 2018.

But the world of wrestling is buzzing about the “Last Woman Standing” match between Lynch and her best-friend-turned-arch-enemy Charlotte Flair.

The Daily News caught up with the champ at the Fearless Girl statue in Manhattan’s Financial District on Friday morning.
