BENOIT's HISTORY OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE EXPOSED

TMZ has posted a copy of divorce papers filed in 2003

Three months later, Nancy filed to have the divorce papers and the restraining order dismissed. A short time later, a judge granted her wish.

NANCY BENOIT

Georgie, any chance you can add this video to the site?

Too much coverage is given to murderers and not the victims these days. Nancy, like Sherri, also pioneered women in pro-wrestling. Take care, Mike

Ok, I am not one to usually "hit the boards"  or post anything on sites or really keep up with gossip or any of the political B.S. in the wrestling business but, the issue of the recent passing of Chris Beniot has had me reading everything possibly posted. After reading hundreds of different posts, web site reports, as well as the news and press conferences I have decided to voice my opinion on this matter.  I am sure a lot of people will disagree or even trash what I am gonna say but, if you really read what I am saying you will see 1/2 of the B.S. you are reading and what people are saying is just wrong.
I have read a lot of posts from fans and sheet writers all saying " I lost respect for Chris", or " I am never watching another Beniot match again" come on guys get real. Now I am in no way shape or form condoning the actions of Chris Beniot this past weekend. It is very unfortunate that something like this would happen. To cause a man to not only take his own life which is bad enough but the life of his wife and young son. I have been through the whole domestic violence when I was younger. So again I am in no way shape or form condoning or agreeing with Chris' actions. What I am saying is this. Chris was probably bar none one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He has entertained millions (fans at the PPV upon hearing Chris would not be in attendance started cheering "we want Beniot") He obviously was doing something right in this crazy business of professional wrestling. For all the indy wrestlers and even the guys that are up in WWE and TNA that might read this, I am sure Chris has affected you in some way , not to mention all of the indy guys that watch tapes I am sure one way or another learned from watching Chris. So to take away from his legacy as a professional wrestler in my opinion is totally wrong. What Chris did this past weekend was done in Chris' personal life, not his career. To take away from his career and say you will never watch him again or lost respect for him. ...... I just don't get it. Granted as a person I can understand anyone losing respect for him.But then again let me say this. 99% of the people writing about this 1) never knew Chris personally. 2) Don't know what was going on in his life. 3) don't know what  it is like with the travel schedule and B.S. professional wrestlers go through on the road. It can definitely take a toll on ones mind and body. Now again I am not condoning what he did. BUT. can anyone really say if he had a breakdown or not. Can anyone really say if he had any mental issues, Can anyone really say if something happened or maybe a simple nervous breakdown caused him to snap.????? None can really say what caused this so to right away trash someone I think is totally wrong.  Everyone has issues. Some people have problems in their head that they cannot control. I know most people would say "ok get help" but how can one do that when you are on the road 5-6 days a week? When you have a sick son ( as Chris did). It is virtually impossible.  Anyone knows in the wrestling buisness especially when your a "Big Player" in this game it is not that easy to just get time off.
I have met Chris on a few different occasions. Each time Chris was very humble and quiet. BUT always very nice. always very straight forward and always for his family ( i have seen him with his family on the road many times) So to say something like this would happen. There is definitely way more then anyone will ever know as to what was going through his head or what caused this tragedy to happen.
Now WWE is apologizing for paying tribute to Chris after what he did. First off WWE has never paid tribute as much as they did for Chris to any other wrestler in this business. So obviously WWE showed how much he really meant to the company. Why not pay tribute to all he did for the company, WWE is going around apologizing now. Do they apologize for all the money Chris made them??????? Pro wrestling has this wellness program now to check if the boys are using steroids... Why not have them speak to someone to make sure that being away from home 5-6 days a week is not messing with their heads to much. That they can both physically and mentally handle the stress??? WELLNESS speaks for itself. To keep people WELL. that does not just include using drugs or steroids. Right now steroids are a big thing in professional sports and cause of the fact it is on the news just about everyday. Now  their is a wellness program for steroids. What about the last 50 years of professional sports. Steroids weren't really made public so what companies didn't care about guys being WELL???????
I am not blaming the industry or anyone for Chris' actions as he did this himself. What I am saying is if the industry was handled better maybe a lot of these tragedies would be avoided or prevented.
Now I have been reading a lot about "steroid rage was the cause of Chris to snap". B.S. First off the D.A. already ruled that out. Second anyone who knows anything ( and if you don't read up on your facts first) a "Roid Rage" wouldn't last 2 days. ( covering the span of time all these events took place). Secondly, Athletes have been using anabolic steroids for over 40-50 years now. Are you telling me Chris was the first person in 50 years to snap like this??? That would mean the odds are 1 in every 10 million ( when you look at how many athletes are and have used in the past)So with the odds of 1 in 10 million can you really say it was steroid related??? Only reason why people are quick to jump onto the steroid wagon is since it is such a hot topic lately.
Now again I am not trying to condone anything that Chris did.
But please 1) separate work and personal life. Chris was a phenomenal wrestler and has done things many people wish and hope to. Let him be remembered in this sport for what he accomplished. As far as his actions and personal life. That's just it. It was his personal life. None knows. None  probably will ever know what really happened or what was going on in his head or even in his life to cause him to become what he was on that weekend. This business has lost way to many people in the years that have passed, hopefully this will serve as a wake up call to most and things will change. I am tired of hearing Friends, co workers, Legends and Heroes going on, one after another.
