…
Hi there,I went to the Big Time Wrestling Event last Friday along with my teen son. I was drawn by Bret, and my son used to be a big fan of both Carlito and Lashley a few years ago, so that prompted us to make the 6 hour trip from Québec to attend the fanfest.
The fanfest was great, the matches were ok.
Bret was SUPER NICE, he took about 2 minutes to chat with me, and went through my whole autograph book despite a waiting line that lasted 2h30. He had a WWF title belt replica with him and was dressed to look the part. He was expensive, but we knew all the prices going in.
Shane Douglas was great, he spent 5 minutes talking with me, even tough I didn't buy anything from him.
Lashley, Carlito, John Cena Sr., The Nasty Boys and Virgil were friendly and cordial.
Raven was cold.
Thumbs up: The building is big, nice and well suited for wrestling. The staff was friendly and helpfull.
All advertised talent showed up, and even some that were not advertised, like Virgil and John Cena Sr.
The signings were very well organized and lightyear ahead of what I experienced before.
Thumbs down: Us VIPs got inside 30 mins late, so the regular ticket got in late too, and the matches started 30 mins late too, of course.
A program with the line-up would have been VERY usefull, as I didn't know any of the locals, and the P.A sound was poor.
Almost 3 hours is way too long for a 7 match card. Bell time at 8h30 is a killer for people who had young children.
Overall we had a great time at BTW, and will likely go back next year.
Thanks
Frank
