11/3 NWA Anarchy Report by Larry Goodman
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Anarchy ran their bimonthly television taping at the NWA Arena in Cornelia Saturday night, drawing 200+ for the third consecutive show since Fright Night. I don’t believe that’s ever happened in the history of wrestling in Cornelia.
It was a decent show, heavy on storyline advancement and relatively light on the wrestling end. It wasn’t as good as the October tapings. That was a hell of a tough standard to maintain.
The highlight was an explosive segment involving Shadow Jackson and Nemesis, which produced the most heated confrontation since the Rejects/NWA Elite feud took off.
(1) World’s Prettiest Tag Team (Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins) & Derrick Driver & Steven Walters beat Anger Alliance (Brodie Chase & Brandon Phoenix & Adam Roberts & Don Matthews) in 12:39. There was a lot to like about this match. Terrific heat. The crowd was going nuts for Delay. Roberts and Chase were at odds. It’s cool the way the members of Anger Alliance have carved out distinct roles. Chase and Roberts want to slit each other’s throats. Matthews plays peacemaker while
Postmatch, Anger Alliance gave the faces the beatdown. The ref crew made a show of force to get
On the WrestleVision, NWA Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer and Greg Hunter were backstage. Palmer told Hunter he was sorry about what Hunter had to go through two weeks ago at the hands of Jeremy Vain and Rob Adonis. Palmer had a mind to suspend the lowly vermin, but Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young) busted in. The Attraction said they were fighting champions, and told Palmer he was giving Vain and Adonis the easy way out. Palmer said have it your way, but you need to be the fighting attraction tonight.
(2) Talent & Money (J. T. Talent & Andrew Pendleton III) beat Regular Guys (Bobby Hill & Tyler Smith) in 3:59. Regular Guys were bland city in their Anarchy debut. They’re better in the ring than they showed here, and it’s back to the drawing board on the look. The do rag headbands ain’t it. I asked for a female opinion and was told their britches were up too high. Pendleton hit the “That’s Money” neckbreaker. Hill took the heat. Hill managed to fight his way out of the heel corner. The crowd was utterly silent for Smith’s hot tag. Talent pinned Hill after a double STO.
(3) Billy Buck pinned Todd Sexton at 3:36 after distraction by Wesley Grissom. Similar to Sexton’s match two weeks ago. The babyface wrestles him even, but lets his guard down for a split-second, and Sexton pounces. Buck rallied with a leg lariat for a near fall before Sexton took his face off with a kick. Sexton was distracted by Grissom’s presence at ringside. He turned around and ate a superkick for the 1-2-3.
(4) Jeremy Vain & Rob Adonis beat Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young) via DQ at 12:09 when Palmer pulled the ref out. Solid performances all the way around, especially Young and Adonis. Young showed more than he has a in a while. Adonis did well in his most high profile match since coming to Anarchy. Atttraction was successful in using their speed to offset the strength and size of Adonis. Young blitzed Adonis with strikes, dropkicked him from behind (for a face bump into the buckles), and dropped a Vader bomb elbow. Creed was on fire against Vain. Atttraction did an elevated legdrop combo on Vain for a near fall. Adonis caught Young with an overhead belly to belly suplex to make him the babyface-in-peril. Adonis used a spinebuster for a near fall. Young made some great comebacks building to a spinning enzuigiri. Attraction dispatched Adonis to the outside. Young hit a pescado on Adonis. Meanwhile, Vain blasted Creed with his title belt. Vain made the cover, but Palmer pulled referee Harold James out of the ring. James disqualified Awesome Attraction. Vain and Adonis celebrated victory. Palmer was beside himself.
(5) Jesse Emerson versus Chris King ended as a no contest in 2:32. It was more than a bit suspicious seeing these guys come out in the main event position. The crowd was about two minutes past caring when Nemesis hit the ring and flattened the gibronis. A lot of fans popped at the sight of Nemesis putting them out of their misery. Nemesis wanted to use the noose on Emerson. Referee Ken Wallace tried to stop him and got decked.
Shadow
(6) Devil’s Rejects (Azrael & Shaun Tempers with Reverend Dan Wilson) beat Hollywood Brunettes (Kyle Matthews & Andrew Alexander) in 6:51. The crowd treated Rejects as the babyfaces against the Brunettes.
Backstage, Salvatore Rinauro was dispensing some veteran type advice to Wesley Grissom. Rinauro told Grissom he had the “bald retard” Sexton’s attention. Santorelli interrupted them to demand a rematch with Rinauro. They went back and forth until Rinauro said Santorelli could have a match with Grissom. An enraged Melissa Coates busted in on them. She accused Santorelli of being the secret admirer. “I’m going to kick asses and break hearts.” Coates marched into the next room where she found Anger Alliance. Coates asked Chase if he wanted a piece of her. Chase told her to be more specific. Coates stormed off. The camera cut to a close up of Matthews gazing at Coates’ assets. His facial expression was priceless.
(7) Melissa Coates pinned Aaron Lee in 2:15. The crowd was hating on Lee. After enduring his horrible entrance music (not Lee’s fault), all the crowd needed was one look at his pasty, Pillsbury dough boy body. If they wanted to turn Coates babyface, this was the way to do it, although I’m not sure that was the intended direction. Match was not good. For Coates’ ass kicking amazon gimmick to be effective, the guy needs to get off his feet for her offense and bump big. Lee did neither. At one point, Coates pulled out a Diamond Cutter. She once again used the Facelift as her finisher.
Santorelli versus Grissom never happened. Sexton attacked Grissom before he ever made it into the ring. Santorelli offered to make it a two on one beatdown. They hit the X-Bomb and were setting up for another T-N-T trademark, the Spike Cradle Piledriver, when Rinauro dumped Santorelli and cleared the ring. The crowd popped for the visual of Rinauro and Grissom standing tall in the middle of the ring.
(8) Truitt Fields beat Patrick Bentley (with Reverend Wilson) to retain the NWA Anarchy Television Title in 7:55 with the help of Slim J. Ring announcer Eddie Rich called it the NWA World Television Title, and truth is Anarchy has more TV than any other NWA promotion at the present time. This was a good match. Dueling chants with the guys for Bentley and the girls for Fields. It was Fields dominating with power early. He gave Bentley a hellacious powerbomb into the turnbuckles. Bentley came back with an impressive strength move of his own, hoisting Fields onto his shoulder and dropping him into a backbreaker.
Azrael and Tempers attacked. They were trying to set J up for the Hellhammer but Fields came to the rescue with a ring clearing save.
Mikal Judas versus Iceberg never happened. It was originally listed as the main event, but then changed to a “colossal collision” with no match specified. Jeff Lewis hit the ring and called out Kory Chavis. Attorney Jeff G. Bailey came out with Shatter. Bailey said this business with Lewis was getting tiresome. Bailey allowed that Lewis might still be delirious from the last time, but be that as it may, “The Universal Soldier” would give Lewis a beating. Lewis and Shatter started going at it. Bailey tripped up Lewis. Shatter gave Lewis two PTSDs to leave him laying. Enter Mikal Judas. He clotheslined Shatter out of the ring. Iceberg clubbed Judas from behind. Judas sent Iceberg through the ropes with the Kick of Death. It was the night of busted eyes for the Rejects, as Iceberg's got busted open as well. Shatter then creamed Judas with another shot from the blind side. Shatter and Iceberg got up on the apron on opposite sides of the ring. Judas sat up. Shatter and Iceberg backed off from whence they came. The crowd popped as Judas made his way towards the front door. The triangular tension between the three monsters was captivating stuff. The deal where they enter and exit from three separate directions adds something. Still, it felt like something was missing without a match.
NOTES: Anarchy returns to Cornelia on 11/17 with TNT (Tony & Todd) vs. Rinauro & Grissom, Devils Rejects vs. Slim J & Fields, Iceberg vs. Judas, Vain & Adonis vs. Awesome Attraction, Shatter vs. Lewis, Anger Alliance vs. King & Buck & Emerson, Talent & Money vs. Walters & Driver, and the return of Chavis...Bill and Jamie Dundee are booked for the 11/10 GWP show at Waleska Ballpark with a 2pm bell time. Their were issues with the venue, so the 11/24 show in Jasper in off. GWP announced two dates for Woodstock: 12/8 at the Cherokee County Rec Building and the Hot Wheels Skate Center on 12/23…The 10/28 WGW show at the Columbus Civic Center turned out to be a total scam. The promoter advertised Public Enemy and “Nature’s Boy” as appearing on the show. I was told that Ted Petty and Johnny Grunge were pictured in the television ads. In any case, the promoter got local businesses to sponsor the show to the tune of 10K. No show ever took place. Apparently, the scumbag put down a deposit on the building, ran some ads, and then left town with the rest of the money.

Episode 87
October 29, 2007
About one year ago, Anarchy TV would alternate from week to week as can’t miss TV, but that has changed within the past several months. Every episode in the past 3 – 4 months has enough storytelling in each episode that you just can’t miss an episode. In Anarchy news, Caleb Conley lost to Charlie Dreamer in the new ECWA promotion, which is not to be confused with the home of the Super 8.
WRESTLING: (n.) ’res-ling A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) an-ar-key (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
- Last week on NWA Anarchy TV, dissension continued amongst the NWA Elite when Jeff Lewis turned on Attorney/Agent Jeff G. Bailey. Things took a loony twist when Dominous attacked the Elite and unmasked himself to be Mikael Judas. The question is: Will Jeff Lewis & Judas unite to overcome the forces of the Elite? The Hollywood Brunettes opened their cosmetology school by shearing Adrian Hawkins’s hair after losing to Jeremy Vain. Color commentator John Johnson proclaimed that bald is beautiful. Also, Patrick Bentley defeated Slim J after running the gauntlet with the Devil’s Rejects. This week, the Anger Alliance battles the Urban Assault Squad & the Awesome Attraction. The main event features NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Ace Rockwell defending the winner of the Mega-Rumble Iceberg.
1. The Anger Alliance (Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix & Adam Roberts & Don Matthews) vs. Urban Assault Squad (Nemesis & Shadow Jackson) & the Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young.)
The Anger Alliance has molded themselves after York Foundation. The heat is amazing as Creed displays his pugilistic skills on Chase, who just happens to escape the Monte Fisto by cringing. The action quickly spills to the floor where Young displays his aerial abilities by wiping everyone with a tope con
COMMENTS: This match worked on several levels by showing the Anger Alliance is a heel faction to be feared, the Awesome Attraction proved they belonged with top Anarchy talent and continued the UAS saga. Nemesis continues to foreshadow his eventual heel turn with sneaky shenanigans. Nemesis subtleness is really good.
- NWA Owner Jerry Palmer has an important message that John Johnson will hate. By the time Fright Night arrives, we will find out who will is the #1 contender to the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title. However, as usual, Palmer is rudely interrupted by unwanted guests, the Anger Alliance. Palmer informs the
- “Mr. Representation” Al Getz presents “She’s A Man” Melissa Coates. Getz predicts Coates will become the next NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion, no matter who it is. This week, Billy Buck answers the open challenge.
2. “Mrs. 97¾ on the Fujita Scale” Melissa Coates obliterated “Brokeback” Billy Buck.
The opinions expressed by John Johnson don’t necessarily reflect those of NWA Anarchy, the National Wrestling Alliance, thesuperstation.net, the TV station you’re currently watching or Larry Goodman. However, they are appreciated by yours truly. Coates thoroughly embarrasses, humiliates and desecrates Buck’s manhood. Coates repays Buck’s fine Southern gentleman gentleness with a sitout gourdbuster for the victory.
COMMENTS: I hope Buck was paid well to get his ass kicked by a woman.
3. Truitt Fields upset
Fields demonstrates his physical prowess until Parham retreats to ringside. Parham suckers Fields to the floor and whips him into the ringside steps. Parham proves why he is called Technical Perfection while the announcing crew argues the merits of world class athletes. Parham humbles Fields while performing facial reconstructive surgery. Fields rallies behind the crowd and escapes a second humbling by backing Parham into the corner. Fields lands a series of shoulderblocks and a backdrop. Parham begs for mercy, lures Truitt in and slams his head on the middle turnbuckle. Fields quickly turns the favor back with a powerslam. Both wrestlers attempt his respective finisher, but in the end it’s the Killing Fields that reigns supreme.
COMMENTS: If I had not read the results two months ago, I would have never guessed Parham would cleanly lose to a midcarder. Fields’ & Shatter’s stock has risen exponentially and deservedly so since breaking up several months ago. It’s a big gamble by pushing both wrestlers as singles stars, but it’s paid off so far.
4. “the Universal Soldier” Phil Shatter pinned Ace Rockwell to capture the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title.
Rockwell is at a noticeable size and appendage disadvantage against Shatter. Shatter taunts Rockwell regarding his small stature. Rockwell responds by pregnant dog slapping Shatter and sends him flying to the wooden Arena floor by pulling down the top rope. Rockwell fires away at Shatter and shoulderblocks him from the apron to the floor. Rockwell attempts a slingshot plancha, but Shatter tosses him back into the ring. Rockwell makes him pay with a drop toe hold a dropkick. Shatter blocks an Irish whips and counters with a spinebuster. The crowd rallies behind Ace, but another section routs for Shatter. After commercial, Bailey punts Rockwell. In the ring, Rockwell fires away after Shatter showboats. Rockwell smartly lands a dropkick to Shatter’s knee. Rockwell makes a near grave error by heading to the High Rent District, but manages to catch Shatter with a cross bodyblock for a near fall. Shatter repays Rockwell with a powerslam. He sets up for the PTSD powerbomb, but Rockwell escapes by biting his knee. Rockwell executes the Ace’s High. The referee counts, 1… 2… but Shatter kicks out! Only Rockwell is more stunned than Greg Hunter. Shatter backs Rockwell into the corner and sits him on the top turnbuckle. Shatter wastes time and Rockwell shoves him aside. Rockwell leaps and goes for a top rope Ace’s High, but Shatter surprises him with the PTSD powerbomb. Shatter makes an Undertaker style cover for the pinfall victory. Afterwards, Johnson orders Alejandro for another pair of pants because he pissed in them. Abomination, Kory Chavis, Phil Shatter and Jeff G Bailey celebrate another championship. Mikael Judas enters, poses and disapproves of Shatter.
COMMENTS: Both wrestlers told a good story with Shatter using his power and Rockwell trying to outsmart him. It’s a tremendous gamble placing the belt around a rookie’s waist. With the right booking and more seasoning, Shatter will be a force to deal with. Rockwell put on a gutsy performance despite a bad knee.
OVERALL: This was another good episode of Anarchy TV. The show featured the right amount of storytelling mixed with good wrestling. The eight man tag was surprisingly enjoyable despite having tons of talent on display. However, there were two major nuances: (1) it was never explained why Shatter replaced Iceberg in the main event. And (2) the crowd appeared to be burned out after eight man tag. So much happened on the first half of the television taping (episode #86) that the crowd wasn’t popping as loud as earlier in the program.

NWA GCW Results and News 11-3-07
Match #1
Frankie Valentine and Tex Monroe defeated The Hooligans when Valentine reversed Devon Cutter's suplex into a small package. This match was a great way to kick the event off as both of these young teams have nowhere but up to go in the tag team ranks. The Hooligans are probably one of the most intense teams that I have ever seen.
Bull Buchanan made his return tonight. He said that it is great to be back in GCW with the belt. He talks about his NOAH tour and mentions how he will defend the GCW title every Saturday night. This brought out Johnny Swinger.
Swinger called Buchanan a liar and a thief. He said Buchanan wasn't in
Out comes Scotty Beach who reminds Swinger that he made him tap out the last time the two met and that he deserves the title match.
Bull said that he owes Beach for costing Beach the title anyways, he suggested a 3 way. So it was set up. Bull Buchanan will defend the title against both Beach and Swinger.
Match #2
David Young defeats DeathRow after hitting D-Row with a huge spinebuster. After the match, DeathRow shocked Young by getting right up. This match was a preview of sorts for next week, because David Young and Chris Stevens faces DeathRow and ThugRowe to decide who goes into the tag tournament finals. Young probably has one of the best spinebusters in the business.
Match #3
GCW Interstate Title Match
AJ Steele defeats Orion Bishop by DQ after Bishop's manager Wicked Nemesis entered the ring. The Intern came out to help AJ. Steele and Bishop fought with each other until referees and wrestler Skinny Jimmy came out to restore order. Orion is one strong SOB and can easily be a top contender for both the GCW heavyweight and interstate titles.
Match #4
Sonny Siaki makes very short work of Michael Cook with an inverted swinging neckbreaker. I think next time, Cook should just finally admit that he is carrot top and go back to prop comedy.
Match #5
GCW Tag Team Touranment Semi Finals
Hot Like Lava w/Quentin Michaels defeats the RJ Connection after Hot Like Lava hits Randall Johnson with a double arm trap shoulder neckbreaker. This was a highly entertaining match, with both teams pulling out the comedy. Near the end of the match, Tex Monroe and Frankie Valentine came down to watch the end of the match, causing the RJ Connection to be slightly distracted.
Match #6
GCW Heavyweight Title Match
Bull Buchanan defeated Scotty Beach and Johnny Swinger w/Quentin Michaels when Buchanan pinned Beach. Bull retains the title. Near the end of the match, Sonny Siaki came down and attacked Swinger.
