BILL BEHRENS NWA NOTES for 12-5-05

12/3 NWA Anarchy Report By: Larry Goodman

Season’s beatings got off to an early start  in Cornelia, Georgia this year,  as NWA Anarchy booked the first  ever Mob Roolz match as last night’s main event.
The booking  strayed from the usual formula with a show built on two epic  matches,  and while credit is due for daring to be different, different doesn’t  always mean good.
(1) Randall Johnson beat Spector in  6:35. Decent opener. Spector was a  heel invader from the Texas  Wrestling Academy. Spector took over with a pair of  basement dropkicks  cutoff Johnson’s comebacks. Johnson fired back with chops to  launch  a full-fledged comeback. Johnson got crotched on the top. They engaged  in  a semi-fierce battle while balancing on the ropes. Spector  took the back bump.  Johnson connected with a flying bodypress  for the pin.
(2) Chad Parham won an 11 man Mega Rumble to  determine the number one  contender for the NWA Anarchy heavyweight  title (30:25). The Mega Rumble was  the pet specialty match  of a former Wildside booker with the initials BB. It’s  over  the top eliminations with a new contestant entering every 3 minutes.  Onyx  was scheduled to play a major part in this match but was  called away on  business, so they had to go to plan B. Good match  for action and there was some  great selling. It had its share  of glitches and hitches as well. Mikal Adryan’s  status as the  premier monster was upheld, but there were hints of that twisted  Triple H psychology where the heel is outnumbered and the faces  look weak.
Attorney Jeff G. Bailey entered the ring with the  NWA Anarchy heavyweight  title belt. Bailey said the undefeated  Adryan had already beaten everyone in the  locker room numerous  times, so why bother with the match? Bailey said he would  change  his name, too, if his career stunk like Kory Chavis (formerly Rainman)  and Chad Parham (formerly Gabriel). Bailey claimed that he already  knew the  winner of the match and the people would soon know as  well. Bailey joined John  Johnson in the announcer’s booth.
Ken  Westbrooks and Hayden Young started it out face vs. face. Young’s  new  entrance works much better than the old one. Young literally  explodes off the  mat when he goes airborne. He’s got a bright  future if he can stay healthy.  Westbrooks and Young went down  on a double clothesline. Jeff Lewis entered the  match and beat  on both of them. Westbrooks and Young blitzed Lewis with double  teams. Lewis incapacitated them with a double low blow. Lewis  ambushed Slim J as  he came down the ramp and ran him into the  post. J appeared to be out cold. J’s  feet were dragging on the  ground as a corps of referees helped him to the back.  Westbrooks  and Young eliminated Lewis with a double clothesline at 8:30. Seth  Delay was next. He potatoed Westbrooks with a flying forearm.  Westbrooks blasted  Young with a forearm shot and hit a german  suplex on Delay. “Precious” Patrick  Bentley entered the fray  wearing some overly Speedoesque trunks. Delay and  Bentley got  the advantage on Delay and Bentley. Young nailed Bentley with  slingshot  senton. Delay was on the verge of elimination, but he managed to  hang  on to the ropes and Westbrooks went flying over the top at  14:30. A huge masked  man, obviously Mikal Adyran, entered the  match. Ring announcer Kevin Marx  introduced him as “Mikal Adryan.  Oops. Bailey informed Marx that it was “The One  Man Mafia”  not Adryan. Adryan eliminated Young with a fallaway slam over the  top. Just an insane bump. Guys attacked Adryan. Adryan shrugged  off their  offense before finally succumbing to a double dropkick.  But not for long. Adryan  gave Guys a double chokeslam and dumped  the both of them at 17:10. Parham was  next. Parham decked Adryan  with a dropkick to the shins and went after the mask.  Adryan ducked  an enzuigiri and gave Parham an Assisted Suicide. Parham landed  in  the ropes. Adryan pounded Parham’s head into the turnbuckle  and generally made  his life miserable. Parham ended up collapsed  in a heap at ringside. Chavis  entered to a great pop. Chavis hit  the best corkscrew dropkick of his career and  overwhelmed Adryan.  Chavis turned his attention to Parham allowing Adyran to  make  a comeback. Chavis hit an amazing Spinesplitta on Adyran and applied  the  Hillside Strangler. No submissions in this match. Adryan eliminated  Chavis at  23:30. Dan Wilson showed up with Azrael and a new recruit  for Devil’s Rejects, a  monster-sized dude under a mask. Rejects  were beating up on Chavis until Brandon  P ran down the ramp carrying  a big stick. He whacked the giant with the stick.  It didn’t  seem to faze the big oaf, but Rejects retreated from whence they  came.  Adryan greeted P with a hotshot and choked the life out  of him. Adryan had the  bodies of Parham and P stacked up when  Todd Sexton entered. Sensing trouble,  Bailey came to ringside.  Sexton was on fire. Adryan went face down after  absorbing a three-on-one  beating, but the faces couldn’t keep him down. Adryan  eliminated  P at 29 minutes. Bailey tried to pull the ropes down on Sexton,  but  Sexton landed on the apron and punked out Bailey. Adryan capitalized  with a  blindside elbow to eliminate Sexton at 30 minutes. Adryan  missed a Mafia kick  and skewered his nuts on the top rope. With  Adryan bobbing in agony on the top  rope, Parham toppled him with  a top rope double stomp for the win.
Marx announced Adryan  vs. Sexton in a non-title match at “Fight For Life,” a  special  Friday night benefit show at the NWA Arena on 12/9, and Adryan vs.  Parham for the title at Holiday Havoc on 12/30. Adryan removed  the mask. Bailey  was livid. Adryan bellowed that neither one of  them had what it takes. Delay and  Bentley came out to congratulate  Parham. Delay was wearing a hilarious Lucky  Charms t-shirt.
(3)  Bad Dogg & Hector Navarro defeated Skitzo & Brett Thunder  in  12 minutes flat. This was the Texas Wrestling Academy match.  Paltry heat  because nobody really cares about these guys. Rudy  Boy Gonzalez was introduced  as their coach. Skitzo is known as  the “Rock ‘n Roll Ninja” which would appear  to be a dig  a at Rudy Boy’s former student Darrin “Rock ‘n Roll Nightmare”  Childs. Bad Dogg is a stocky black guy with bleached blonde hair.  He looked very  much like a black wrestler that worked the Atlanta  area a generation ago named  the Big O. Dogg fell through the ropes  selling a dropkick that didn’t make  contact. Dogg held his hand  out for a tag and Navarro tagged him in the back  instead. So much  for teamwork. Skitzo hit a legsweep off the ropes. Gonzalez had  words with Dogg. The heels (Dogg and Navarro) worked Thunder over.  Thunder made  a tag that the ref didn’t see. Finally, Thunder  nailed an enzuigiri to tag  Skitzo. He cleaned up with dropkicks.  Skitzo and Thunder hit Total Destruction’s  old finisher, the  Ezy Rider, but the pin attempt was broken up. Dogg had Skitzo  pinned  with a sideslam but Thunder broke that up with a moonsault. Dogg  then  speared Thunder out of his boots for the 1-2-3. Gonzalez  entered the ring and  gave Thunder a stern lecture for his sorry,  losing ways.
(4) Jeremy V & Jason Blackman & Alabama  Attitude (Adam Roberts & T. C. Carnage) beat Urban Assault  Squad (Shadow Jackson & Nemesis) & Pomp and Circumstance  (Ace Rockwell & Shaun Tempers) in a Mob Roolz  match when Rockwell  was unable to answer the bell (36:15). The deal was the  team  winning a fall got to pick a member of the opposing team and administer  a  four-on-one beating for 60 seconds. The match would continue  until the beatdown  victim was unable to answer the bell. Unfortunately,  the mob stipulation proved  to be more interesting as a concept  than the reality of the match. After a hot  start, it kind of fizzled.  Asking the talent involved to do a 36-minute main  event level  gimmick match was asking a lot under any circumstances. The selling  needed to be off the charts and it never approached that level.  UAS got by far  the best pop of the night. The evil V got the most  heel heat. The fans busted  out the “kill the Crackers” chant,  as the good guys dominated the first fall.  Rockwell had a hot  house cleaning segment. Blackman took some good bumps. The  rudos  won the first fall when Tempers tried to suplex V back to the inside.  Blackman grabbed Tempers by the leg and held on while V got the  pin at 8:30.  Jackson was chosen as the victim for the mob action  segment. This was good. In  the midst of taking punishment, Jackson  made a hot comeback and the heels  responded with a wicked beatdown.  Jackson made it to his feet for fall number  two. Jackson hit a  stunner and got a tag. Nemesis did a flip to his feet and  leveled  V with a lariat. Great spot. Not so great, was the botched finish.  On  take two, Rockwell countered Blackman’s spiral slam with  a DDT at 17:01. Roberts  was the chosen victim for an all around  thrashing. But he struggled to his feet  and the match continued.  Early in fall number three, V sidestepped and rammed  Nemesis’  shoulder into the post. Dissection of the body part ensued. Rockwell  ran wild off the hot tag, but Blackman caught him with a backbreaker.  It was  curtains. The heels destroyed Rockwell’s back. The thing  dissolved into an ugly  schmozz. In the ensuing chaos, Alabama  Attitude pinned Rockwell with the  Attitude Adjustment. Rockwell  defied the heels with a one finger salute and paid  dearly for  it. The fans chanted “Let’s go Ace,” but it was not to be.  Tempers  slapped Rockwell’s hand away in disgust and walked out  on him. UAS asked the  fans to give it up for Rockwell.

A Couple Of   Weeks In The Life Of Fergal Devitt During His Three Month
US  Tour

Amongst many of the NWA UK/Ireland Hammerlock stars  making a good  name
for themselves on the international scene  is Irelands Fergal  Devitt
who is presently on a three month  non-stop tour of America, below is  a
report covering the first  two weeks of his tour, more to follow  soon
from Fergal and  others including reports from Rebecca Knox who  is
currently  touring America and Japan.

Sept 24th - NECW TV.  Pawtucket,  RI.

In a match which was referred to as 'the best in NECW  TV  history',
Devitt made his debut in winning fashion by defeating  K.L Murphy  when
he countered a sunset flip pff the top rope  for the pin.

Sept  25th - NECW. Somerville, MA.

Forming  a tag team with fellow Irish man  Joe Cabray, Devitt took on
the  team of Tim Dillon (UK) and Ricky Reyes (ROH).  Devitt and Cabray
proved  too strong and following a top rope double stomp by  Devitt on
Dillon  the Irish duo took the pinfall for the victory.

Sept  30th  - Slamtech Wrestling. Seekonk, MA.

Devitt took on Bob Evans,  an  opponent be would become accustomed to
competing against.  Following a very  technical battle of wits and
skills, Devitt  forced Evans into submission with  a leg bar.

Oct 6th -  NWA 57th Convention. Nashville, TN.

After  traveling to  Nashville to meet the rest of the NWA Ireland team,
Devitt once  again paired with Paul Tracey to defeat the team of Sean
'Maxer'  Brennan and  Phil 'The Thrill' Boyd in a match that could only
be  described as an example  of how things are done in NWA Ireland.

Oct 8th - NWA 57th Convention.  Nashville, TN.

Following  months of build up and verbal assaults by both  parties, it
was  finally time to settle the score once and for all as Devitt  took
on  NWA Quebec's Dru Onyx for the NWA British Commonwealth  Title.
Following  almost 10 minutes of back and forth action, of which  Devitt
said  was among one of his toughest battles to date, Onyx tapped out  to
a  cross arm bar applied by Devitt from a standing position.  Following
the  match, both combatants, with a new found respect for each  other
shook  hands in the middle of the ring.

October 14th - NECW.  Framingham,  MA.

A late entrant into the NECW annual Iron 8 Tournament,  Devitt took on
NECW regular Joe Chese in a match where both  men would  throw
everything at each other to come out on top.  Devitt suffered his  first
defeat of his tour when Chese countered  a German supplex and hit  his
patented Chese power slam for  a close 3 count.

Oct 15th - NECW.  Framingham, MA.

After  receiving late confirmation that the NWA would  sanction a NWA
British  Commonwealth Title match, Devitt would put the title  up
against  'The Epic' Mike Bennett (managed by Alex Crowley).  Devitt
overcame  Bennett and interference from Crowley to hit his  Devitt-End
supplex  for the pinball.

Oct 22nd - NWA Virginia. Roanoke,  VA.

Devitt again put the title on the line against the NWA Virginia  Alpha
Champion Brandon Day. This back and forth match could  have went  either
way, but when Devitt avoided Days attempt  to use his Alpha title as  a
weapon, and followed up with his  over head bicycle kick, he scored the
3  count and the victory.

Oct 27th - NECW. Somerville, MA.

Devitt  would  meet Bob Evans once again in a match that was referred to
as  'a  wrestling lesson'. With the title on the line Devitt and Evans
kept  this one  on the mat, with Devitt retaining his title forcing the
submission  again with  a leg bar. Both men received a standing ovation
and  agreed to go at it one  more time the following night.

Oct  28th - Slamtech Wrestling. Seekonk,  MA.

Devitt again put  his title on the line in the 3rd part of the  Devitt
vs. Evans  Trilogy. This time, contested under European Rules of  6
rounds  of 3 minutes, with 2 falls, 2 submissions or a knockout  to
determine  the finish. Devitt won 2 falls to 1 in the 5th round  again
using  the leg bar to win his second fall of the match.

Oct 29th  - NECW. Plainfield, CT.

Defending his title against all  comers, Devitt  put the NWA British
Commonwealth Title on the  line again against NECW monster  Michael
Sain. This hard hitting  match saw Devitt first out wrestle Sain  but
then saw Sain dominate  Sain for long spells. With nearly 20 minutes  on
the clock,  Devitt countered a choke slam attempt and rolled up Sain
for  the win.

SEEK 'N' DESTROY RETURN AND IRISH TAG CHAMPS MAKE  MEGA IMPACT!

NWA Ireland Tag Team Champions Team Mega  were on hand at  NWA-UK
Hammerlocks Live Event  Friday Night,  November 11th in Grays, Essex  in
the UK. They were both entered  as singles wrestlers in a King of  the
Ring tournament. However  the tournament ending took an  unexpected
twist as you will  find out as you read their results and  happenings below.

King  of the Ring - Round 1:

Danny Butler pinned  JP Monroe with  a spine-buster, then got hit with a
ddt by JP's manager  Jezebel  post match. Justin Bred pinned Zack Sabre
Junior following his  'Clean  Liffey Plunge' finishing move, in a
tightly contested  match.

King of  the Ring Semi-Finals:

Danny Butler  beat Tony McMillan of Seek 'n' Destroy  with a Boston
Crab.  Justin Bred beat Exodus with help from Danny  Butler.

While  Team Mega were doing an in-ring promo refusing to go up  against
each  other in the tournament final and declaring themselves  joint
winners  of the King of the Ring Tournament, they were interrupted  by
the  returning home town hero's Tony and Dave McMillan, better known  to
NWA-UK Hammerlock fans as 'Seek 'n' Destroy'. They proposed  the  final
match of the tournament be a non-title tag team match  with Team  Mega
facing Seek 'n' Destroy.

In the final  match, Seek 'n' Destroy  once again showed their in-ring
stiffness  and power and defeated Team Mega by  pin fall. The Irish team
were  then forced to agree to the stipulation that if  they are still
NWA  Ireland Tag Team Champions when NWA-UK Hammerlock returns  to the
Civic  Hall in Grays, Essex that they must defend their titles  against
Seek  'n' Destroy.

IRISH IMPACT ONCE AGAIN THIS TIME AT THE TAP  'N' TIN.

At Hammerlock's last show at the Tap N Tin on  Wednesday 16th  November,
a four man tournament involved travelling  NWA IRELAND stars  'Juvenile
Delinquent' Keith Loughman, who  took on JP Monroe in the first  round,
and Keith's tag team  partner and fellow Finglas Hooligan  'Thunderkid'
Robbie Morrissey,  who  battled Danny Williams, and although  both
coming up short  in their singles matches, both made a  great
impression, and  Hammerlock looks forward to seeing them compete in  the
NWA-UK  ring very soon. Danny Williams defeated JP Monroe won the  final
of  the tournament, after hitting a picture perfect  moonsault.

This  led us to the much anticipated Strap match for the  NO1
contendership  to the NWA-UK Heavyweight Championship. Champion  Johnny
Moss  had set the challenge of fighting a mystery opponent for Jon  Ryan
to  earn the right for a title shot. And boy did Jon Ryan have his  work
cut  out, when his mystery opponent turned out to be none other  than
monster  HUGH MUNGUS. A battle from the start, with the strap's  obvious
use  as a weapon not being ignored, Jon Ryan some how managed  to
overcome  the might of Hugh Mungus and pick up the victory. This
meaning  that at Hammerlock's next show at the tap n tin, Johnny Moss
will  have to  defend his title against the 'Bad Boy of British
Wrestling'  Jon  Ryan.

The Main event of the show, was the much anticipated  NWA-UK  Junior
Heavyweight title match between new Champion  Zack Sabre Jr making  his
first defence against the "Rudeboy"  Peter Jay. A match not  without
history; not only had Peter  Jay sneaked up from behind and beat  down
on Zack and Jimmy  Havoc back in September, after both men had  just
fought over  30 mins in a 4 way elimination match, he and tag  team
partner  Danny Williams last month in October, were seconds away  from
being  defeated, they resorted to cheating to pick up the win,  and
further  add insult to Zack Sabre Jnr and Jimmy Havoc. But back to  the
match.  A highly heated and emotionally charged contest, the match  went
back  and forth until Peter Jay was able to catch Zack with a  highly
dangerous  top rope belly to belly supplex, attempting the  same
manoeuvre  again, but this time Sabre Jnr outsmarted the "Rudeboy"  and
caught  him with a second rope "Sabre Driver", moments away from the  3
count,  Danny Williams entered the ring and proceeded to stomp the  hell
out  of Zack causing the match to be declared a Non Contest. After  the
continuing  beat down, injured Jimmy Havoc made his way to ring  sending
Danny  and Peter over op rope. Zack Sabre Jnr retained his title,  and
you  can be sure that this feud is definitely not quite over  yet.

"Extreme  Dream Team" Hardcore Craig and  Corporal
Robinson. The match was contested  under "First Blood

eliminated when he was  stabbed in the head by
Carmine's fork. In a  controversial ending,  while the
referee was turned, Mr Jordan DDT'd Craig on  a chair.
Corporal  ran from the lockerroom and DDT'd Jordan on
the chair.  Referee  Barfly Mike ruled that both Craig
and Jordan were bleeding and  therefore eliminated.
Carmine was the last one left standing,  and his  team
were awarded the tag team titles. A rematch was
promptly  signed...

ULTIMATE  RESOLUTION
Possibly the most brutal match ever  devised  in Pittsburgh wrestling history!  No doubt will be left at which  wrestler in Pittsburgh has most will, as four competitors will  enter the ring in  two minute intervals, until all four men are  in the ring.  Then, a four corners  elimination match will take  place, but after the first of those four competitors  are eliminated,  the reigning Brass Knuckles Champion will enter the match.  When  another competitor is eliminated, the reigning Three Rivers Champion  will enter  the ring.  Once a third wrestler has been eliminated,  the reigning NWA Pro  Wrestling Express Heavyweight Champion will  enter the match, and his title will  be on the line through the  final three eliminations.  Which ever competitor  manages to not  be one of the six wrestlers eliminated in the match will not only  have survived a brutal war with every singles champion in NWA  Pro Wrestling  Express, but they will also be the holder of the  top singles championship  contested in the National Wrestling Alliance  today - the PWX Heavyweight  Championship.

NWA PWX TAG  TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Rage's QUINN  MAGNUM & BRANDON K  will defend the titles.
The tag team scene in  Pro  Wrestling Express is heating up, and Rage has the prize everyone  else is  after - the PWX Tag Team Championship.  Which team will  get the shot at the  champs at the last show of 2005?  Da Munchies?   The Tri Chi Fraternity?   Sabotage & Teddy Fine?  Armageddon  or other Apocalypse members?  Two  challengers from 987?

CIRCLE  OF RESPECT VOTING CONTINUES ON  12/10
The voting has  begun for the inaugural inductees into NWA-PWX's  "Circle of Respect".   The first induction will take place at the inaugural Iron  City  Classic on January 21st.  The four finalists for the first induction  were  announced at Fan Appreciation Night on November 26th: Shawn  Patrick, Quinn  Magnum, Paul Atlas, and Vince Kaplack!  Originally  intended for only three  finalists, both Atlas and Patrick tied  for third place in the voting among their  peers (wrestlers, staff,  and alumni of PWX).  Now it is time for the Pittsburgh  wrestling  fans to make their voices heard, as at each show until January 7th,  any fan in attendance can vote for who they think is deserving  to be inducted  into PWX's version of the hall of fame: the Circle  Of Respect!

INFORMATION ON THE INAUGURAL  PWX IRON CITY CLASSIC TAG-TEAM TOURNAMENT  ON JANUARY 21st...
Three teams have requested entry into the inaugural  Iron City  Classic Tag-Team Tournament set for Saturday, January 21st at The  Palisades: Rage, 987, and Armageddon. Rage(Brandon K & Quinn  Magnum) are the  current PWX Tag Team Champions, and have to be  considered early favorites to win  the tourney, but 987 has thrown  their hat into the ring - but have yet to name  the team that will  be entered, which could spell a lot of trouble for Rage as  987  has not stated who will be the entering tag-team. Devil Bhudakahn,  leader of  Apocalypse, has entered his minions Rapture & Revelation  - Armageddon, into  the tournament, and stated that it is time  that the new Armageddon quits  underachieving and lives up to the  Armageddon namesake; and there is no more a  perfect place for  them to this than at the Iron City Classic.  A number of other  teams from PWX and outside of PWX have also inquired about entrance  into the  tourney, but as of this moment, these are the only three  teams confirmed for the  tournament.

UPGRADE RETURNS  TO ACTION
"Upgrade" Tyrone Evans,  who made his debut  with Pro Wrestling Express last year at the 'Burgh Brawl,  will  make his return to Pittsburgh on the December 10th Sportatorium  card.   Evans quickly became a favorite of the Pittsburgh wresting  fans, and that  momentum carried him to an upset win for the Brass  Knuckles Championship, and a  dominant title run was ended after  a devious plot by Scott Venom cost Evans the  title.  After a  long season of professional football, will Evans go back after  his  Brass Knuckles Championship, or does he have revenge in mind?

BHUDAKAHN UPSET WITH APOCALYPSE
Brass Knuckles  Champion Devil  Bhudakahn made his feelings known on Fan Appreciation  Night: that Apocalypse  should be in main events, and the group  should be getting title shots.  At the  same time, the massive  army he has assembled has become chronic underachievers.   Multiple  times, "The Devil's Reject" Mantis666 has failed to defeat Sam Slej  at  the demand of Bhudakahn.  Eisen Drache, who has been taken  under the wing of  Bhudakahn as an apprentice, has yet to get a  win in PWX.  The newest version of  Armageddon has failed to bring  the intensity of the originals, and have yet to  challenge for  the tag team championship.  "Satan's Assassin" Jake Garrett was  brought into the group on Fan Appreciation night, to lend an experienced  hand to  the group.  In the lockerroom, Bhudakahn and CJ Sensation  have made it known  that the level of achievement of Apocalypse  will not continue to be tolerated.

ALLANOV LOSES MATCH  WITH VENOM, HAS BREAKDOWN
After being dodged  for months  by Scott Venom, "Soviet Shooter" Nikita Allanov finally got his  hands  on the mouthpiece of 987 on Fan Appreciation night, only  to come up short. In a  lumberjack match which saw Venom pick all  of the lumberjacks - 987 and  Apocalypse members, Allanov valiantly  fought against the odds, but it was just  too much, and he was  pinned by Venom after feeling the sting of a superkick.   After  the match, Allanov apologized to the fans in attendance, who picked  the  match to see Allanov finally get revenge against his aggressor.
Reports  indicate that Allanov has been facing a bout  of depression in the recent days  after the match, and has generally  kept to himself - a condition that Allanov  has not been in since  a massive losing streak in 2004 leading up to the 10th  Anniversary  show.  Has Allanov lost his heart for wrestling?
