First for the NWA GCW news. Bad  Company’s Bull Buchanan will be returning next  week to the Sports  Arena. In addition, it was announced that Shawn Banks and  “Mean”  Mike Stratus will be returning too. In addition, the big announcement  from GCW and the NWA was the introduction of the NWA Senior Administrator  for  GCW, who turned out to be Ted Oates. Ted wielded his power  early, making some  huge decisions. However, more on those later,  first to the matches.
The first match of the evening pitted  “The Thriller” Heath Miller against the  very popular “Loverboy”  Lee Thomas. Lee started the action off with a armdrag,  which he  followed up with a hiptoss. Miller was able to reverse a Thomas  headlock into a hammerlock and then he pulled Thomas down by the  hair. Lee  eventually got out of Heath’s grasp, and performs  a drop toehold and then locks  in a front chancre. Miller gets  up, pushes Thomas into the corner, and hits some  corner thrusts.  However, the momentum Heath had was short lived as Lee whips  Heath  into the corner and then performs a backbody drop. Then Thomas went  to the  ring apron, catapults himself over and hits Miller with  a kneedrop. Heath starts  to fight back and ends up hitting a belly  to back suplex. He whips Thomas into  the corner and starts to  beat him down. Then Lee is whipped into another corner,  and as  he staggers out, Heath meets him with a DDT. Miller hits Thomas  with a  suplex and later he whipped Thomas into the ropes and nails  a side slam. Lee  started to fight back, by hitting a twilt a whirl  headscissors followed up by a  back heel kick. He then whips Miller  into the ropes and hits a jumping knee  lift. Lee went for a hurricarana,  but Heath blocked it and nails a huge  powerbomb. After the pinfall  attempt failed, Miller clotheslines Thomas out of  his boots. As  it looked like Heath was going to put Thomas away, Thomas gets the  pinfall by surprising Miller with a crucifix pin for the victory.  Winner:  “Loverboy” Lee Thomas.
The next match was Scott  Steele taking on Bobby Sanford. The first few  seconds of the match  was back and forth, as both wrestlers could not get a clear  advantage  until Steele hits Sanford with an armdrag. Later he whips Bobby  into  the corner and hits a running clothesline. The Scott paid  homage to the British  Bulldog as he hit a running powerslam and  followed that up with a suplex. Steele  then hits Sanford with  a running clothesline and whipped him into the ropes.  However,  Bobby used his head and moved out of the way of the shoulder tackle,  causing Scott to hit his shoulder on the post. Sanford then went  to work on the  shoulder area with an armbar. Soon Scott is whipped  into the ropes and is met  with a dropkick by Bobby. After a couple  of nerve holds from Sanford, Steele  starts to fight back when  he hits a legsweep backbreaker. Scott then hits Bobby  with a clothesline  and follows that up with a whip into a powerslam. Steele gets  up  and gets ready. Bobby gets up and is met with a neckbreaker from  Scott for  the three count. Winner: Scott Steele
Before the  first intermission, Guy Hagler had a backstage interview with AJ  Steele. Steele said that tonight he was ready and that he was  going to become  the new GCW heavyweight champion.
After the  intermission, Jerry Oates came to the ring. He announced Ted Oates  as the new NWA Senior Administrator for GCW. As Ted was saying  that he was  honored to be named to this position, “The Source”  Greg Brown of Bad Company  came out and started to run down Ted.  Jerry leaves the ring, leaving Greg and  Ted in the ring together.  This was step one of Ted showing his newfound power.  He used a  little contract stipulation that Bad Company had when they were  the  tag team champions against Bad Company. It says that any Bad  Company member can  replace any other Bad Company member for title  matches. Ted said that since the  GCW Heavyweight Champion, David  Young, was not in Columbus, then Greg Brown will  be defending  Young’s belt against Steele. Brown gets upset and as Ted leaves  the  ring, Brown tells him that he will not be responsible for  what happens tonight.
The third match of the night was a tag  team match of “The All-Star” and “One  Bad Mofo” Cru Jones  teaming up with Damien Steele taking on ½ of the tag team  champions  John Bogie and “The Shooter” Vordell Walker. Steele and Bogie  start  the match off with Steele getting the early advantage locking  in an armwringer.  He then locks John into a hammerlock and makes  a quick tag into Cru. Jones puts  Bogie into another armwringer,  and then locks in an armwringer. John is able to  away and tag  in Vordell, but Cru locks Vordell into an armbar and tags in  Damien.  Now Walker pulled off this awesome move that can best be described  as  running inverted side Russian. Damien and Vordell trade armbars,  with Vordell  getting a tag into John. Bogie and Walker whips Steele  into the ropes and  performs a double back body drop. John then  hits Damien with a headlock  takeover, but Damien reversed that  into a headscissors. Steele then tags Jones  and he performs a  headlock takeover on Bogie and then makes another quick tag  into  Steele. Damien and Cru whips John into the ropes and as Cru drops  down,  Damien nails John with a dropkick. Steele locks in an armbar  and tags in Jones.  Damien and Cru whips John into the ropes and  this time Damien drops down as Cru  hits a leg lariat. Eventually  Bogie is able to get away and make the tag to  Walker. Vordell  showed his MMA background as he hits some knees to Cru’s face.  Walker then goes for a pin attempted with a fisherman’s suplex,  but only gets a  two count. Cru whips Vordell into the corner and  hits some shoulder thrusts.  Jones tags in Steele. Damien whips  Vordell into the ropes and hits a flapjack.  Later he whips Walker  into the ropes and nails another picture perfect dropkick.  He  makes the quick tag into Cru and Cru locks in a bridging armbar.  Walker  reverses a whip into the corner and then nails Jones with  a one legged dropkick.  Vordell then tags John back into the match  and they double suplex Cru. After a  knee drop to Jones’ head,  Bogie tags Walker back in. He hits Cru with a belly to  back suplex  and later tags John back into the match. Soon Bogie and Jones hit  each other with dual clotheslines and it was basically a slow  race to see who  would tag in their partners first. Damien and  Vordell are tagged into the match  and soon all four men were in  the ring. Steele hits Walker with a clothesline  and then whips  him into the and hits a back body. Vordell hits Cru with a kick  to the back of the head, but he didn’t see Damien climb to the  top rope. Steele  flies from the rope and hits a crossbody press  on Walker for the pinfall  victory. Winners: Cru Jones and Damien  Steele.
The first title match of the evening was for the TV  title as the newly  crowned TV champion, Bad Company’s Chris  Stevens defended the belt against the  other half of the GCW tag  team champions, Erik Watts. Before the match began,  Stevens and  Watts starts to bad mouth each other and referee Steve Miller had  a  hard time keeping the two men separated. Erik was able to drive  Chris from the  ring and for the first couple of minutes in the  match, Chris stood on the  outside of the ring. Watts gets the  first attack in as he hits Stevens when  Stevens is on the ring  apron. Chris is knocked back down to the floor and for a  few seconds  Erik prevents Chris from reentering the ring. Eventually Stevens  gets into the ring and kicks Watts in the gut. Erik gets the advantage  as he  whips Chris into the corner and then hits a hiptoss. Later  Watts has Stevens  backed up in the corner and was doing the corner  mounted punches, when Stevens  hits a modified snake eyes. Chris  then climbed to the top rope, but Erik caught  him and hits a superplex.  Later Stevens is able to reverse a whip and nails  Watts with a  powerslam. After trying to choke Erik out, Chris hits a hangman’s  neckbreaker. As Stevens was bad mouthing the red, Watts went for  a schoolboy  attempt. Chris then clotheslines Erik back to the  mat and follows that up with a  knee drop. Later Stevens chokes  Watts and then goes to the outside. He drapes  Erik over the ring  apron and hits an elbow to Erik’s chest. Then with Watt’s  neck  under the bottom rope, Stevens performs a wheelbarrow suplex. Later  Chris  climbs to the top rope to go for the flying elbow, but Erik  rolls out of the  way. Watts goes hits a running clothesline and  calls for a chokeslam. But Chris  blocks it by holding onto the  ropes. Watts then whips Stevens into the ropes and  starts to go  for the Lights Out, but Stevens blocks that too. Chris is able to  get over to the ring ropes, and he ends up throwing Erik over  the top rope.  Referee Steve Miller called for the belling, Dqing  Chris Stevens. Winner: Erik  Watts. Chris Stevens is still the  TV champion. After the match, Erik nails Chris  with a chokeslam.
Before the second intermission, Guy Hagler is backstage with  Greg Brown.  Brown basically says that AJ isn’t going to win  tonight and that the title is  staying with Bad Company.
The  main event was for the GCW Heavyweight title as Greg Brown, defending  for  the absent David Young, who wrestled in Virgina, taking on  the #1 contender AJ  Steele. Brown starts the action off as he  attacks Steele from behind. After  hitting a snapmare and hitting  an elbow drop. Greg then steps on AJ’s neck.  Later he whips  Steele into the ropes and hits a back elbow. He hits a suplex and  later hits Steele with a belly to back suplex. Later he nails  AJ with a kneelift  and sends AJ to the outside. Steele tried to  fight back with an outside in  sunset flip, but Brown blocked it  with a punch to the head. A little while after  being slammed by  Greg, AJ sent him into the corner. But Brown being the crafty  veteran  that he is moved out of the way of Steele’s running corner clothesline.  But eventually AJ did turn the tide in his favor hitting some  chops in the  corner. He then whips Brown into the corner and hits  a running clothesline. He  showed that Damien isn’t the only  Steele able to hit a dropkick as hit whips  Greg into the ropes  and nailed a dropkick. As it looked like Steele was going to  put  Brown away and become the new champion, he accidently took referee  Miller  out of commission. Suddenly Chris Stevens hits the ring  and hits AJ with a  single arm DDT. Damien Steele runs out and  drives Stevens out of the ring and as  those two men are fighting  on the outside, Cru Jones runs in. He nails Brown  with a clothesline  and he was about to pick him up for a piledriver, out comes  Bobby  Sanford who hits Jones in the back with a foreign object. At this  time AJ  gets up, but is quickly taken down as Sanford nailed him  with the foreign  object. By the time the referee came too, Brown  was on top of Steele. The ref  counted to 3 and Greg Brown kept  the title in the Bad Company camp.
After the match, NWA Senior  Administrator Ted Oates came down the ramp and  said that Brown  had a lot of outside help and that he was just lucky. He also  said  that David Young will be there next week, because if he isn’t,  not only  does Young lose the title, but he will not be allowed  in any title matches for  one year.

SHOW NEWS & NOTES
A great crowd turned out in the snow for  the  first of this winters' Sunday evening cards at the Palisades  in McKeesport.  The  show opened with 987's Scott Venom announcing  the formal disbanding of the  Championship Committee, and that  he was now the "Emperor of PWX", and in  complete control.  Justin  Idol came to the ring to confront all the members of  987, and  demanded a title shot at Hansen tonight.  Hansen said that he couldn't  defend the title against Idol, because he had a defense tonight  against a very  capable challenger, Daron Smythe, but Hansen broke  down and started laughing,  saying that Smythe wasn't very capable,  and that he was going to destroy him.   Venom then said that Idol  cant just waltz back into PWX and demand a title shot,  that he  had to start at the bottom and work his way up.  Rage hit the ring  and a  wild brawl broke out, with Crusher in the ring handing a  beating to Idol.   Smythe then hit the ring and took out Hansen,  who bailed rather than get into a  fight with his challenger in  the main event.
The first match saw Devin Devine and Chris  Taylor from 987 go  ahead 1-0 in the "Best of Three Series" against Bigg & Nikita  Allanov for the vacant Tag Team Championship.  Devine and BC Steele  managed to occupy Allanov on the outside just long enough for  Devin to take out  Bigg's injured hip with a chairshot, which Taylor  capitalized on with a  diamondcutter, which got the pinfall for  the team from 987.
Eric Extasy brought out Paul Atlas for "Club  Extasy", but Extasy  played this very straight, and said that he wanted to know  why  Atlas was on suck a tear about respect, and why Atlas thought he  had no  respect.  Atlas said that when he was on top in PWX ,  800 people attended shows,  and when guys like Justin Idol headlined  shows now, no one showed up.  Atlas  said that he proved all he  had to prove in the ring, and he didn't care at all  about a title  shot against Extasy.  Atlas left the ring as Extasy posed for the  camera with the Three Rivers Title belt, but Atlas came back in  from behind and  laid Extasy out with a chair to the back. Atlas  got the mic and said he changed  his mind, and he would take that  title shot tonight.
QB Blitzz had a wild brawl with Apocalypse's  Jake Garrett, which  led to Blitzz getting the win by DQ when the entire  Apocalypse  group hit ringside and went after the Tri Chi.  Sam "Hammer" Slej  made the save for his fellow Tri Chi, but after the dust settled,  he got the mic  and demanded a one-on-one title match with Brass  Knuckles Champion Devil  Bhudakahn.  Bhudakahn said that he would  give Slej the title shot, but only if  Slej put his final entrance  into 'Burgh Brawl on the line.  Slej quickly agreed,  and guaranteed  victory.  Then 987's BC Steele came to ringside, and made a  proposal  to the Tri Chi's: team together and make 987's Scott Venom & Dirk  Ciglar versus Rage's Scottie Gash & Brandon K a three-way,  and the Tri Chi's  would receive the first title shot when new  tag team champions are crowned.   Blitzz quickly accepted the  deal, which drew the ire of Slej, who wanted no part  in helping  out 987.  Blitzz was obviously upset, so Slej finally agreed, to  keep  the peace with his tag partner.
Justin Idol destroyed Apocalypse's Eisen  Drache  in a very short match, which saw Idol unleash a brutal  offense unlike anything  he had done in the past.  After nailing  Drache with a Senton Splash, Idol got  the pinfall.  CJ Sensation  and Armageddon started to creep into the ring, and  Idol was suddenly  facing a 3-on-1.  Dan Miles ran to ringside with a steel chair  and Apocalypse bailed out.  Idol then got the mic and said that  he had a hand in  training Miles, and that he was the future of  PWX, and one of the young guys in  the lockerroom that "get it".   Idol then held up the ropes for Miles to exit,  but Miles insisted  he hold the ropes for Idol.  Idol started to walk thru the  ropes,  but Miles pulled on the second rope, low-blowing Idol in the process.   Miles then hit Idol with a Tiger Driver, and grabbed the mic.   Miles said that  he was taking his opportunities, because he was  tired of getting pushed off the  cards.  Miles said that he was  getting an opportunity in PWX, but then Idol  returned from injury  and suddenly there was no room for him on cards anymore.   Miles  said that he has beaten everyone out in front of him, and he was  better  than a washed up "Aerial Icon".
Rage got a great win over 987, in a very  well  fought tag team match, as Brandon K and Scottie Gash defeated  Scott Venom and  Dirk Ciglar.  The Tri Chi's came out for this  match, but as Blitzz got ready to  fight, Slej just hugged Gash & K, and then told Venom that if he though the  Tri Chi's were  helping 987, he was crazy, and left the ring.  Blitzz, perplexed  at what Hammer did, grabbed the mic and halfheartedly agreed,  and then followed  Slej to the back.  This was the first teaming  of K and Gash, who looked solid as  a unit, against Scott Venom & Dirk Ciglar, who had three tag team title  reigns in 1999  and 2000 under the name 'No Limits".  K pinned Ciglar with a body  scissors roll up to get the pinfall after a series of rollups  and reversals  between the two.
After intermission, 'Hammer" Slej finally got  his  Brass Knuckles Title shot at Devil Bhudakahn, who came to ringside  with all  of Apocalypse.  Senior Official Shawn Patrick said that  the stipulation for this  match agreed upon was strictly 1-on-1,  so everyone had to leave ringside that  was not a licensed manager.   This incensed Bhudakahn, and Slej attacked, getting  a fast upper  hand.  Bhudakahn battled back however, and had a ton of help from  manager CJ Sensation at ringside.  The size differential was  too much for  Bhudakahn however, and Slej battled back and nailed  a Hammer Stampede to get the  win, and the Brass Knuckles Championship  - to a huge pop from the crowd.  Blitzz  came to ringside and  clapped as Slej walked away from ringside with the title  belt,  slapping hands with the fans.
Cupid  came to the ring next, with his protégé  Blue Dragon.  Cupid said that tonight he was going to let his  charge show off  his impressive skills with a little demonstration  that Dragon had come up with.   Cupid opened up a gym bag and  took out a piece of wood, and then held it out to  Dragon.  Dragon  took a few warm up kicks, and then went for a kick, trying to  break  the board.  An obviously nervous Cupid dropped the board as Dragon  kicked,  and caught a kick right in the hand.  Cupid said that  it hurt really bad, but  said he would make sure he held on real  tight this time.  Not wanting a repeat,  Dragon repositioned the  board this time as Cupid held it, with Cupid eventually  holding  the wood only inches from his face.  Dragon kicked the board with  all of  his might, and it went right into Cupid's face, knocking  him out cold.  Scott  Venom and Crusher Hansen came to ringside,  and Venom pointed out that this was  the most disgusting thing  he ever saw.  Venom then threw both men out of the  building,  and said if either of them ever showed up to PWX again, that he  would  have a surprise waiting for them,
Paul Atlas threw everything he had at Three  Rivers Champ Eric Extasy, and controlled the pace of the match,  and also found  out how resilient Extasy is after working on tearing  his knee apart.  Atlas  dominated Extasy on the ground early,  but Extasy took over with power, and  started hitting Atlas with  his big power moves.  Atlas was on the ropes, but as  Extasy went  for his STDriver, Atlas's legs knocked over referee Roman Law.   Atlas went for a chair as Extasy tried to revive Law, but when  Atlas tried to  hit Extasy he got caught, and Extasy nailed Atlas  with the chair instead, in  full view of Law, who called for the  bell, and DQed Extasy.
The main event saw a great back and forth match  between 987's  Crusher Hansen and Daron Smythe for the PWX Heavyweight  Championship.   Hansen tried to dominate the match early, but Smythe would not  let  him gain control, and battled for every inch Hansen wanted to take.   Hansen  quickly seemed to regret taking Smythe lightly, and Smyth  pulled no punches,  hitting the champ with his stiff knee strikes.   Hansen tried to take the match  to the outside, but Smythe was  ready, and would not let Hansen dictate the tempo  of the match,  quickly taking it back in the ring.  Hansen went to the well with  BC Steele at ringside, and Hansen relied on dirty tricks to finally  take  control, but was unable to keep Smythe down.  The crowd  was solidly behind  Smythe by this point, and the challenger was  feeding off the momentum.  Smythe  battled back and hit his Yakuza  kick, but only got two.  Hansen reversed and  Irish whip and somehow  managed to get Smythe up for a Crusher Slam, but Smythe  kicked  out at two, stunning the champ.  987 charged the ring, but were  met at  ringside by Rage, and the two battled at ringside, and  back into the  lockerroom.  That gave Steele enough time to slip  Hansen a foreign object.   Hansen turned to use it on Smythe,  but Smythe kicked Hansen, sending Hansen's  fistful of powder into  his own face.  Smythe hooked Hansen and hit a Tommikaze,  and  got the pinfall, and the NWA-PWX Heavyweight Championship.  The  crowd  erupted as referee Shawn Patrick presented Smythe with the  belt, and Smythe  celebrated with the fans at ringside, and the  ring quickly filled with fans  celebrating the win with Smythe.   Smythe becomes only the fifth wrestler in  PWX's 11 year history  to win a "grandslam" - having held all four of the active  titles  in the promotion.
NWA Pro Wrestling Express returns to action on  Sunday February  26th at 4:00pm.  Already announced is match two in the "Best of  Three Series" for the vacant PWX Tag Team Titles between 987's  Devin Devine & Chris Taylor vs. Bigg & Nikita Allanov.   Tickets are only $12 for  ringside, $10 general admission, and  $6 for kids 12 and under.  For more  information on this and other upcoming  cards, check out

On  Sunday February 12, 2006 TNA Wrestling held the Against All Odds  PPV. Last  year’s Against All Odds PPV saw Jeff Jarrett use a  Cello in his match with Kevin  Nash and the now defunct Shazarian  tag team loss to a television car racing  analyst. The pre show  was hosted by Jeremy Borash. Apparently Earl “You Screwed  Bret”  Hebner is the referee for the NWA World title match. Former WCW  ring  announcer David Penzer has taken over Borash’s duties but  did the announcing  from outside the ring.

The following  were the pre-show matches:

Ron “the Truth” Killings  defeated Team Canada’s A1 (w/the rest of Team  Canada).

Lance  Hoyt, Cassidy Riley and Shark Boy defeated “Prince of  Punk”  Shannon Moore and Diamonds in the Rough members David Young and  “Primetime” Elix Skipper (w/Simon Diamond). During the match  Moore turned his  back on the Diamonds.

The PPV began with  the normal work of David Sahadi  and Kevin Sullivan which gets  better each PPV. It focused on tonight’s main  event.

(1)  Former 2 time NWA World Tag Team champions the Naturals  (Chase  Stevens and Andy Douglas) defeated “Messiah of the Backbreaker”  Roderick  Strong and Austin Aires.
Aires and Strong barely  made it here from an ROH  show on Long Island last evening. The  Naturals jumped Aires and Strong at the  bell and didn’t let  up on the offense until Stevens got too close to the wrong  corner.  Aires and Strong made frequent tags to wear Stevens down, with Strong  hitting several backbreakers. Stevens let Aires and Strong mess  up and he tagged  out to Douglas. Douglas hit Strong with a top  rope huricurana and Strong landed  on Aires. Douglas went to power  bomb Aires but Strong cut his knee out from  under him. They hit  Douglas with several finishers but couldn’t get the pin. The  Naturals  needed two shots but they hit Aires with the Natural Disaster to  gain  the win.

After Mike Tenay and Don West ran the remaining  matches down,  they replayed footage of Borash talking to Larry  Zbyszko and Dave Hebner about  tonight’s main event. Borash spoke  to America’s Most Wanted and Team Canada  about their respective  matches. Scott D’amore teased the video tape Alex Shelley  made,  telling the fans at Impact the footage would air. Zbyszko came in  and told  all of them that anyone who interferes in the main event  would be fired on the  spot.

(2) Jay Lethal defeated  Alex Shelley (w/video camera), Team  Canada’s Petey Williams  and Matt Bentley (w/Traci Brooks).
Needless to say  this match  was fast and hard hitting. The referee made them start as a tag  match  of sorts with Williams and Bentley in the ring. Williams  went to sing O Canada  on Bentley’s crotch but Brooks showed  some cleavage and Williams went for  cleavage over crotch. Williams  tagged out to Shelley and the crowd insisted  Lethal enter the  match, so Bentley tagged out. Lethal hit Shelley with chest  chops  and a dropkick to the back of Shelley’s neck. The crowd chanted  ”Lethal  Weapon.” Shelley and Williams formed a very brief  alliance trying to wear down  Lethal. Neither could get the pin  as the fans were solidly behind Lethal.  Shelley and Williams decided  to argue with each other, so Lethal took his time  and crawled  to tag Bentley. Bentley got back in the match and all four men began  to beat each other down with finishing moves. Things kept at a  frantic pace and  all four men had victory in their hands until  Jackie Gayda came out and attacked  Shelley. Williams had Bentley  ready for the Canadian Destroyer but stopped to  laugh at Shelley.  Bentley escaped and Williams was pinned by Lethal.

Jeremy  Borash spoke to “War Machine” Rhino about his match with Abyss.  Larry Zbyszko warned Rhino about interfering in the main event.  I think someone  who doesn’t work here will be involved in the  match. A recap of the destruction  of the 3 or 4 Live Kru played.

(3) The Latin American Exchange (“the  Notorious  187“Homicide and Machete w/Konnan) vs. The James Gang (BG James  and  Kip James)
Konnan told the fans that Machete would earn  his stripes, guess  Apolo wasn’t going to be involved tonight.  BG James called the LAX “TNA’s  version of Menudo.” Before  Billy, I mean Kip James could talk the Gang was  jumped by the  LAX but the Gang held strong in the ring and waited for the LAX  to  return. Kip James tried to make Homicide part of the canvas  with a powerbomb  before tagging BG. The Gang controlled the match  until Kip went to hit Machete  with “the One and Only.” Homicide  broke it up and the LAX, Konnan included, beat  down Kip James.  Homicide missed a top rope headbutt and Kip tagged out to BG.  The  match went in favor of the Gang and BG hit a pump handle slam to  pin  Machete. Konnan charged the ring and hit both men with his  sock puppet, sorry  slapjack. “Bullet” Bob Amrstrong came out  to the ring but Konnan left before any  action took place.

Referee  Mark “Slick” Johnson talked to Larry Zbyszko  about who was  refereeing the main event. Zbyszko told him he had a referee in  mind and no one was on a need to know basis.

(4) NWA World  Tag Team  champions America’s Most Wanted (“Tennessee Cowboy”  James Storm and “Wildcat”  Chris Harris) defeated “the Future”  Chris Sabin and “Original Playa from the  Himalaya” Sonjay  Dutt.
Guess Sabin’s ankle injury wasn’t as severe as  thought  at the last TV taping. In the opening minutes AMW had a hard time  adjusting to their faster opponents. That was until Harris smashed  Sabin’s ankle  against the ringpost when Sabin and Storm got  close to AMW’s corner. AMW drew a  huge bullseye on Sabin’s  ankle and didn’t stop for several minutes. Sabin was  close to  tagging out several times but AMW did everything they could to avoid  it. Harris couldn’t hold onto Sabin’s good ankle and Dutt  tagged into the match.  Dutt held his own against the champs even  as he was close to the Hart Attack,  when Sabin dropkicked Harris.  Dutt countered out of the Catatonic into a two  count. Storm grabbed  a chair that somehow ended up in Sabin’s hands. Sabin hit  Harris  with a tornado DDT onto the chair. Dutt hit a standing shooting  star  press but got two. Storm and Sabin fought on the floor. Dutt  went for the Hindu  Press but Harris moved, allowing Storm to return  to the ring to hit a superkick.  AMW hit the Death Sentence to  win the match. AMW handcuffed Dutt before they  could inflict damage,  Sabin hobbled back to the ring to save Dutt. As the next  vignette  played TNA security assisted Dutt to the back, possibly suffering  some  head trauma from the Death Sentence.

Jeremy Borash  spoke to NWA World  Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett and Gail  Kim about the main event. Monty Brown  interrupted the talk and  was told by Jarrett he was next in line for a title  shot. They  replayed the vignette leading to the falls count anywhere match.

(5) In a falls count anywhere in Universal Studios match,  “The War  Machine” Rhino defeated the real MR. TNA Abyss (w/Father  James Mitchell).
These two have been beating each other up  for months, maybe tonight it  stops. The fighting began at the  opening bell and was all over the building.  Sixty seconds in they  went over the top rope and into the Pit. The action came  back  to the ring when Rhino went under the ring for some party favors  including  the World X Cup trophy. Kendo stick and garbage cans  shots opened Rhinos’  forehead open. Abyss needed some ice on  the crotch after Rhino placed the trophy  there and hit it with  a baseball bat. Abyss and Rhino fought to the back of the  building.  Abyss and Mitchell set up several tables as Rhino lay on the stage  bleeding. Abyss got on the rampway and fought with Rhino. The  two men fought for  dominance on the rampway until they fought  off the rampway and out of the  building. After neither hit the  other with the bat or shattered a car window  they fought back  to the ringside area. Rhino tossed a table in the ring and  placed  it the corner. Abyss grabbed a staple gun and tapped Rhino’s forehead  with it. Abyss got another table and placed it in the ring. Rhino  set Abyss for  the GORE into the table in the corner but Abyss  chokeslammed Rhino into another  table. Abyss posed with his bag  of thumbtacks long enough for Rhino to recover  and GORE Abyss  into the table in the corner. Mitchell ran for his life when  Rhino  chased him. Abyss fought Rhino into the crowd and trashed part of  the  stands. Abyss went to chokeslam Rhino into the tables but  instead Rhino hit the  GORE sending Abyss off the stands and down  through the tables!!! Rhino got the  pin and both men received  a standing ovation from the crowd.

Jeremy  Borash spoke  to the NWA World X Division champion Samoa Joe about his title  defense.  It was followed by a vignette about Styles, Daniels and Joe’s  recent  history.

(6) In a three way match, NWA World X  Division champion Samoa  Joe vs. “the Phenomenal” AJ Styles  and “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels.
This was a rematch  of what I called the best match of 2005 at the  Unbreakable PPV.  I didn’t know whether to type everything or watch the entire  match.  I tried to do both. Joe dominated the ring in the opening minutes,  until  Daniels and Styles got some separation from Joe. Daniels  went for a suicide tope  but Joe hit him with a palm strike to  the jaw. Styles tossed Joe into the ring  barricades and went to  the ring to fight Daniels. Joe recovered and returned to  the ring.  All three men went for submission moves but didn’t get a tap out.  Joe  gave Daniels the facewash and the Ole kick. Styles went for  a corner splash but  was hit by Joe’s standing STO. Daniels went  to the floor and slapped Joe but Joe  ducked down and Styles went  over the top, hitting Daniels with a suicide flip  dive. Joe followed  them out with what looked like a flying forearm tope through  the  ropes. Once back in the ring Styles and Daniels traded several two  counts  until Joe came back to the ring and laid both men out.  Joe hit Daniels with a  running kick to the face and an in ring  senton bomb. Daniels fought back but got  hit with a powerslam  followed by the Kokina Clutch. Styles got back in the match  breaking  up Joe’s attempt at the Muscle Buster with an enziguri. Daniels  hit  Styles with an STO as Joe kicked Styles in the back of the  head. Daniels hit Joe  with a German suplex and an STO before his  patented BME that got only two.  Daniels set Joe for the Angels  Wings but Styles interrupted that. All three men  went for their  finishers but couldn’t get the win. Styles hit Daniels with a  Human Torture Rack into a Falcon’s Arrow for two. Daniels hit  Joe with a DVD  after Styles hit a flying forearm to Joe’s head.  With Joe lying on the mat  Styles went for the Spiral Tap but Daniels  cut him off. This allowed Joe to get  to his feet, kick Daniels  to the floor and hit Styles with the Muscle Buster to  retain the  title.

A vignette recapping Team 3D’s issues with Team  Canada  and America’s Most Wanted played. Borash spoke to Team  3D about what happened to  them on the last Impact.

(7)  In a fan’s choose the opponents match, Team  3D (Ray and Devon)  defeated Team Canada’s Booby Roode and “Showtime” Eric Young  (w/Scott D’amore.)
This match came from fans voting on the  TNA website  between Team Canada and America’s Most Wanted. Team  3D jumped Team Canada from  behind and the beatings began. All  four men fought on the floor, actually Team  3D beat the crap out  of Team Canada. Team 3D dragged Roode into the ring and the  beating  continued until D’amore interfered on his team’s behalf. It  allowed  Roode to pull the top rope down, sending Devon to the  floor. Devon’s old  forehead wound was reopened in the beating  around ringside. Team Canada followed  their normal plan of attack,  frequent tags and not allowing Devon to tag out.  Ray could only  shout encouragement to his partner and get the fans solidly  behind  Team 3D. No matter what Team Canada did to Devon he wouldn’t submit  or  allow himself to be pinned. Devon finally tagged out to Ray  and the fan went  nuts. Both teams traded two counts even as Ray  hit Young with a superplex. Roode  broke the flagpole over Ray’s  back but Young got only two on the pin. Roode  accidentally clotheslined  his own partner which allowed Team 3D to hit Young  with the 3D  to win the match. D’amore tried to hit Ray with the Tag Team of  the  Year award but it backfired. AMW hit the ring to join Team  Canada in the  beatdown. Just as AMW was going to put Team 3D into  a table, Ron Killings hit  the ring and broke it up. Killings hit  Young with a top rope legdrop through the  table. The ring TNA  crew came out and changed canvases before the main event.

Jeremy  Borash spoke to Christian Cage before the main event. Cage used  several “cheesy cliques” during his rant. Once again they  played the vignette  that aired on last night’s Impact.

(8)  In a match refereed by Earl “You  Screwed Bret” Hebner, “Captain  Charisma” Christian Cage became NWA World  Heavyweight champion  by defeating Jeff Jarrett (w/Gail Kim.)
In the “press  conference”  for this match, Cage called this the biggest match in his twelve  year career. Both men traded punches, kicks, smacks to the face  and other  insults until Cage hit Jarrett with an inverted DDT  onto the ring apron. Cage  missed a top rope elbow and hit the  ring barricade instead of Jarrett. Jarrett  sent Cage into the  barricade once more and then the broadcast table. Finally the  match  returned to the ring and Jarrett hit a dropkick to Cage’s face  for two.  Jarrett locked in a chinlock but Cage got to his feet  only to be hit with a  Jarrett Hot Shot. Hebner and Jarrett traded  harsh words before Jarrett hit the  Big Boss Man memorial legdrop/punch  to the jaw. Kim hit a top rope flying head  scissor. Jarrett locked  in a sleeper but Cage escaped and locked in the figure  Four Leg  Lock. Kim grabbed Jarrett and dragged him to the ropes causing Cage  to  break the hold. Jarrett hit an enziguri and locked in the Scorpion  Death Lock.  Somehow Cage escaped and locked Jarrett in the leglock  (Maybe sting taught him?)  Cage dropped his head on Jarrett’s  crotch, by accident of course. Both men got  to their feet but  Cage hit a DDT. Jarrett slid under Cage but slid into Hebner’s  ankle. Wh
