NWA ANARCHY TV REPORT eps 62 by Ca$hFlowX

NWA Anarchy TV Report: Episode #62
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NWA Anarchy
Episode 62
May 5, 2007

- This episode of Anarchy begins with a replay of Chad Parham using a distracted referee to low blow Todd Sexton and beat him with a piledriver to retain the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title. In other events, the Satanic Pyromaniac Azreal accidentally delivering a flaming boot to Tank. Jeff G Bailey called out Abomination to obliterate the Iceberg and force the Devil’s Rejects to retreat.

WRESTLING: (n.) ’res-ling A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) an-ar-key (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!

- Greg Hunter returns by promoting the upcoming Hardcore Hell super show. He recaps the gruesome events of the Flaming Boot. This week on Anarchy, Hunter has an exclusive interview with NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Chad Parham and the Texas Hitmen take on the NWA Elite.

- Greg Hunter introduces a key component of the 11th annual Hardcore Hell, Chad Parham with his STARBUCKS COFFEE~! Hunter notes than Parham has takes on all comers, but a bullseye is pained on his back. Slim J and Ace Rockwell have their eyes set on Parham. Parham calls himself the best wrestler on television today and wants to know who is going to get piledrived in the main event. After a poorly times commercial break, Slim J confronts Parham about never receiving a rematch. Parham says J doesn’t deserve a rematch. Cue the Jeremy Vain music as he heads out to stake his claim for NWA gold. Vain believes it’s clear that he deserves a shot at both singles titles in Anarchy. Well, that only leaves Ace Rockwell out and guess what happens next? Yeah, cue Ace Rockwell’s entrance music. Rockwell reminds Parham he already beat him and can take away his legendary status. Owner Jerry Palmer has had enough of everyone’s shenanigans and decides to settle the differences with a Double Jeopardy match where the winner can leave with two titles. If either champion is pinned, he loses his respective title.

- John Johnson interviews Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins. Johnson inquires about Patrick Bentley’s disappearing act. Delay can solve the Bentley problem and dispose a rat infestation by bringing out the pythons. Delay predicts the problems will be over tonight. Then, Brett Thunder interrupts Hawkins by asking him are they still tag team partners. Delay tells Thunder to hit the ring because he is taking on Hawkins tonight.

1. Adrian Hawkins vs. Brett Thunder
THE MATCH: Johnson welcomes Hunter back after quail hunting with thingy Cheney. The story of Thunder in Anarchy is this; he single-handedly beat the Texas Wrestling Academy, tagged with Adrian Hawkins and turned into a jobber. Thunder maintains the early advantage by grounding Hawkins. Hawkins takes over with an eye gouge and side backbreaker. After commercial, Thunder lands a dropkick when Hawkins heads to the High Rent District. Thunder goes on an offensive rampage and scores a two count with a cross bodyblock. Thunder heads to the ropes, but Delay grabs his leg. Hawkins uses the distraction to finish off Thunder with the Unprettier.
WINNER: Adrian Hawkins.
POSTMATCH: Delay proclaims it is not time to celebrate and commands Patrick Bentley to head out.
COMMENTS: The match itself wasn’t very long and only to cover up a loophole in the storylines.
RATING: N/A

2. Seth Delay vs. Patrick Bentley
THE MATCH: Bentley mysteriously appears after the NWA Arena momentarily regains its electricity. Delay gains control when he catches Bentley heading back into the ring. Delay connects with a vertical suplex for a two count. Johnson insinuates that Delay carried the tag team. Delay mounts Bentley for the 10 Shots of Doom. Bentley takes exception to Delay’s arrogance with an inverted atomic drop. Delay scores a two count after a Fireman’s carry into a spinning Samoan drop. Delay leaps off the top turnbuckle and Bentley catches him in the mush with a pair of boots. Bentley fires back with Polish Power and a field goal. He sends Delay flying to the hardwood with a flying knee. Bentley heads up to the top turnbuckle and gets nasty with a huge cross bodyblock. Bentley rolls him back in the ring and almost puts Delay away with a Sunset bomb. Hawkins appears from underneath the ring and promptly attacks Bentley for the DQ. Bentley hoists Hawkins in midair with his bear hands, but Delay makes the save with a chair shot. Bentley rises up, but Delay literally shuts his power off with a chair shot to the dome. Delay prances over an unconscious Bentley. The referees check on Bentley as the evil duo heads back to ringside.
WINNER: Bentley by DQ.
COMMENTS: The reason this feud doesn’t work is because they don’t have the necessary chemistry. It’s similar to the Rock & Roll Express split. As a tag team, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson were among the best ever, but as opponents, they lacked the right chemistry to put on a great feud. The fans would rather remember all the great matches these two provided over the years instead of how they broke up. Sometimes when the good times end, it’s just best to let both men go separate ways. Both wrestlers are great talents and should become accomplished singles wrestlers as well. Delay’s antics should make a great heel. Bentley has just as much potential and hopefully he’ll receive some good storylines to work with. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Bentley might be served well by joining the Rejects or the Elite if the character direction is to explore his dark side.
RATING: *

- Al Getz tells the Anarchy Angel Mary that she looks like a tramp, is a tramp and smells like a tramp. He commands her to step aside so that he can show her what a real man is. Getz promises to shatter Austin Creed’s & Hayden Young’s dream for having the audacity to step to Justice Served. Getz calls the Urban Assault Squad garbage. Justice Served & Al Getz are the judge, the jury and the executioner. Getz concludes by telling Mary to serve him a soda. Getz is awesome.

3. NWA Elite (Onyx & Jeff Lewis) w/Jeff G Bailey & Abomination vs. the Texas Hitmen (Skitzo & Bigg Dogg)
THE MATCH: The Hitmen begin the match by focusing their attack on the Feature Presentation. Dogg tags back in and places himself in a pair of questionable positions with Lewis. The Hitmen use double team tactics upon Lewis. Lewis escapes with an uppercut to Skitzo and tags in Onyx. Onyx lands a brutal clothesline in the corner as the Elite work over Skitzo. Dogg receives the tag and all hell breaks loose. Lewis sends Skitzo rolling to the floor with the Final Curtain which allows Onyx to finish off Dog with the full nelson.
WINNER: NWA Elite via submission.
POSTMATCH: Jeff G Bailey commanders the mike and checks on Onyx, who has not moved since he forced Dog to pass out to the full nelson. We shift to several moments later with Bailey going on another entertaining diatribe about the Elite destroying the Rejects. The Reverend and the Rejects launches an insurmountable attack on Lewis. Azreal pours out the lighter fluid and prepares to light his boot, but Bill Behrens heads out to stop the madness. He scorns Dan Wilson and Jeff G Bailey. He parts the entranceway like the Red Sea and expresses his disdain for the actions of the both feuding factions. He asks why they want to destroy the platform that they perform on. Behrens decides to allow them to settle differences in an Anarchy rules match at Hardcore Hell. The fans decide what weapons the participants will use. Behrens issues the warning if any member of the Rejects or the Elite touch each other before Hardcore Hell or they will be banned from professional wrestling forever. This will be only the third Anarchy Rules match ever with the first two being Iceberg vs. Scotty Wrenn and Ace Rockwell vs. Shaun Tempers, both involving a member of the Rejects.
COMMENTS: It’s a good thing that the aftermath was more important because the match was a cluster. The main point of the segment was to get over the importance of the Anarchy rules match and how rarely it is used in the promotion. The TNA booking department who is out of tune with reality (NAMELY DUTCH MANTELL) could learn a lot by watching this feud and how to book one. Further, Behrens, the performers and announcing team made it clear than gimmick matches are rarity in Anarchy and are used only to settle major feuds, something that TNA hasn’t figured out yet. Behrens made it clear that this match at Hardcore Hell will not be for the faint hearted, so you can expect a bloodbath. Enough can’t be said about the hatred between both factions and how well they exhibit them. Right now, this is by far one of the hottest feuds in professional wrestling and is a must see.
RATING: ½*

- OVERALL: The major focus of this week’s episode was to set up the main events for Hardcore Hell. There was little wrestling and the first match didn’t start until about the 16 minute mark.

Fight Sports Midwest, in association with NWA Midwest,
presented "Chapter Two" on Friday night, May 11th at
Camelot Sportsplex in Portage, IN. Here are your quick
results...

1. JIGSAW def. GRAN AKUMA with the Jig-N-Tonic.

2. METAL MASTER (from Michinoku Pro Wrestling in
Japan) def. SHANE HOLLISTER.

3. TWEEK & DASH PHOENIX def. VITO & SAL THOMASELLI (w/
Kimberly Kash) when LACEY came to ringside to
neutralize Kash. This took the attention of both the
referee and Sal Thomaselli long enough for the twins
to switch places, allowing the fresh man to score a
quick pinfall on Sal. Lacey walked out with the
Phoenixes, raising their arms in victory.

4. JOSH ABERCROMBIE def. HUMAN TORNADO with the
Taliban Backpack.

5. ALEX SHELLEY def. SENSHI via pinfall with a
modified STO in roughly 20 minutes.

6. TRIK DAVIS & BILLY ROC def. MAREK BRAVE & RYAN
EPIC, "The North Star Express" RYAN CRUZ & DARIN
CORBIN, and CJ OTIS & TRUTH MARTINI in a four corners
tag team match to earn entry in the NWA Indiana State
Tag Team Title Tournament, which will be held on
August 11th in Portage. Since Davis scored the pinfall
in the match, he also earned entry in the 2007 Jeff
Peterson Memorial Cup in Orlando this July.

7. AMAZING KONG retained the NWA World Women's Title
in a wild falls count anywhere match against ANN
BROOKSTONE. The match went all over the building, with
very hard hitting exchanges between both women, and
use of several chairs during the bout. Kong finished
off Brookstone after powerbombing her through a table
on the floor. Brookstone had to be taken to the
hospital after the brutal match.

8. EDDIE KINGSTON def. JOEY RYAN following a Lariat.
Immediately after the pinfall, BULL PAIN hit the ring
with his baseball bat and attacked Kingston, busting
his head wide open.

9. ARIK CANNON def. JOEY MERCURY after hitting him
with a foreign object and then following up with the
Glimmering Warlock.

10. MARTY JANNETTY pinned TYLER BLACK (w/ Jimmy
Jacobs) with a superkick. After the match, ARIK CANNON
left the commentary table and started to slap Tyler,
until Jannetty came to his aid. Jannetty and Black
then hit the Rockers double team fistdrop to leave
Cannon laying.

11. "Lightning" MIKE QUACKENBUSH def. TIGER MASK IV to
win the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship.
During the match, Quack continually tried to undo the
laces on Tiger Mask's mask to try to unmask him, but
was unable to get it completely off. Late in the
match, with the laces loosened, Quack was able to
completely unmask him, and quickly pinned him with the
Alligator Clutch to score the win. Tiger Mask's face
was quickly covered up with a towel by NWA officials.
Quack looked into the cameras filming the match and
asked "Japan, do I have your attention now?" before
walking out with the title.

Smart Mark Video filmed the event for DVD release,
with commentary by myself, Eddie Kingston, Bryce
Remsburg, Jigsaw, Arik Cannon, Tyler Black, Jimmy
Jacobs, Lacey, and Joey Eastman.

FSM returns to Portage on July 13th. Already announced
is the rematch between Larry Sweeney and Bryan
Alvarez, as well as Homicide vs. Haku! FSM is then
back again on August 11th for the NWA Indiana State
Tag Team Title Tournament.

The conflict between Grail and LaZaRuS over the NWA Alpha Championship has grown in intensity and is now spilling over into adjoining NWA territories.

Grail lost the Alpha Championship in a falls count anywhere match at the Ground Xero Wrestling School in Richmond. Grail petitioned, and was granted, a rematch that will take place at the NWA TV tapings in Clifton, NJ on June 2.

With this interview, Grail lays down a challenge for LaZaRuS and there is a bloody stipulation attached to the match.

LaZaRuS is no rookie talent either. A series of matches against Scotty Blaze and Scotty Rocker have helped school him in wrestling, and he has put those lessons to good use. He captured the Alpha Strap in his second match against Grail. His response is as intense as Grail's challenge.

The NWA TV taping takes place on June 2 at the Italian American Club in Clifton, NJ.

NWA Midwest presents
Mid American Wrestling
"The Last Dance"
Sun, May 27th 7pm (Night before Memorial Day!)
Sports Connection,
3000 S 13TH St, Milwaukee WI

------------ --------- --------- --------- ---------

From promoter, Carmine DeSpirito -

On May 27th, 2007 Mid American Wrestling will be
holding it's FINAL event aptly entitled, "The Last
Dance".

The decision to end the promotion has been considered
for many years.
For sometime, it has seemed inevitable. There are
multiple reasons why I have decided to fold MAW.
Economics is one. As with many independent
promotions, attendance has dwindled. It has made it
very difficult to continue financially. The second
reason, is that I initially promoted shows to simply
give wrestlers a place to perform. When I started in
1993 other promotions were scarce. Now, there are
multiple promotions in the Milwaukee area.

In 1993, at 23 years old I was a brash, young kid. I
wanted to promote wrestling, turn heads and get people
talking. Some would say my approach to the business
was a bit unorthodox. It was intentionally
controversial, but always respectful. Aside from the
outrageous product, I wanted a place where a wrestler
could live out their dreams, regardless of size, age
or ability. In turn, I would live out my dreams
as well.

I take a great deal of pride knowing that MAW has
helped in producing some great stars. There are also
some of which may never make it to the national scene,
but are very talented in their own right. I'm
extremely proud of all of them. They are all a part of
MAW's legacy. I hope every wrestler that stepped
through our doors are proud to say they wrestled
for MAW. I, for one, am proud to have had each and
every one of them wrestle for me.

Next week, I'll attempt to recap the past 13 years,
and relive with you my greatest memories of MAW.

Thank you,
Carmine DeSpirito
Owner/Promoter
Mid American Wrestling

It's encouraged for everyone, fans and wrestlers alike
to send their most memorable MAW moments to
[email protected] We'll publish them in next
week's newsletter.
