NWA Anarchy TV Report by Ca$hFlowX
Episode 81
September 17, 2007

Special thanks to everyone that made the Kirby Mack Benefit Show a success. The latest edition to the Tar Heel State, Kaleb Konley, wrestled on that card for CWA in Statesville, NC.

WRESTLING: (n.) ’res-ling A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.
ANARCHY: (n.) an-ar-key (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.
What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!

- Last week, Truitt Fields scored an impressive victory over NWA Anarchy TV Champion Jeremy Vain’s special enforcer Rob Adonis. In the #1 contender titles tournament, the Urban Assault Squad take on the Brunettes and the World’s Pretties Tag Team in a tornado style match. In the main event, Chad Parham defends against Ace Rockwell in a no DQ, no countout match. Tonight’s edition of Anarchy should prove to be a barnburner.

1. The Awesome Attraction (Austin Creed & Hayden Young) defeated the Hustle Squad in a non-title match.
Our color commentator John Johnson is at it again by blaming Austin Creed for the major drought in Georgia. Whether or not you blame Creed for the drought, he’s guilty of owning a super gimmick and being a heat magnet. The Awesome Attraction dominates the early going by displaying their double teaming prowess. Johnson can be down with the Hustlers, but MJ eats a huge double suplex. MJ takes Young down with a STO and Giddy connects with a running shooting star press for a two count. I just have to add here, Young should have held off becoming a professional wrestler and instead been a high jumper or a basketball player. This man has more springing ability than Rex Chapman who had a monster vertical. Back to the match, Young outquicks the Hustle Squad and makes the tag to Creed. Creed peppers up one member, clubs him with the Monte Fisto, clotheslines the hell out of the other member and Young wins with the Flying Squirrel.

- Al Getz is accompanied to the ring by Melissa Coates as “New York” echoes throughout the Church of Southern Professional Wrestling. You know, that is just so sacrilegious, but d**n it’s funny. Mr. Representation is appalled at the nothing happening trailer park losers in the arena. He calls the locker room full of tramps and that a real woman has entered the NWA Arena. And if you didn’t know, Coates is a former Miss Olympia. “I’d slap the ugly out of ‘ya, but we don’t have all night.” Yep, Getz was his usual funny self here as insulted the crowd and wrestlers backstage. Getz challenges any male wrestler to battle Coates. As Eddie Rich is prepared to announce tonight’s sacrificial lamb, we’re interrupted by a perfectly timed commercial. (Whether it was intentional or not, this was a perfectly timed commercial.)

2. Melissa Coates destroyed Chris King.
Mr. Representation is NWA Anarchy’s official equal rights opportunist. King answers the challenge and boy did he make a mistake. He really believes armbars and wristlocks are going to hurt this broad. Coates upsets King with the pregnant dog SLAP OF DOOM~! She continues to dominate the pathetic 98 pound weakling with numerous power moves. King fights back with a dropkick and crossbody, but Coates presses out the pinfall attempts. Coates finishes the outmatched King with a sitout gourdbuster. Its official, Chris King has been overthrown, tossed into the NWA Dungeon and now to be referred to as the Underworld Peon.

- Reverend Dan Wilson is back with an interview where he introduces Patrick Bentley as the newest Devil’s Reject. (Read last week’s TV report for a paraphrasing of the interview.) We turn to Slim J in mid ring. He calls his match with Bentley at HE one the best of his career. Bentley betrayed not only J, but also the fans. J is angry because the wasted three months of his career. No need to worry, Bentley will continue to be tortured by Slim J, BUSTER~!

3. Urban Assault Squad (Nemesis & Shadow Jackson) defeated the World Prettiest Tag Team (Seth Delay & Adrian Hawkins) and the Hollywood Brunettes (Kyle Matthews & Andrew Alexander) to become the #1 contenders to the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles.
UAS are brawling specialists and normally excel at Texas Tornado matches. They dominate the early going, but WPTT and the Brunettes quadruple team the much larger adversaries. As typical for any tornado match in Anarchy, this was a fun cluster. After commercial, egos flair up between the Brunettes and WPTT. The UAS receive an opportunity to recoup their senses after Hawkins and Alexander pull a move right out of Marcus Alexander Bagwell’s playbook, a double cross body. UAS land double double clotheslines, which means that they ate up four wrestlers at the same time. Jackson double chokeslams TTPT. Nemesis mounts the top turnbuckle and lands a huge knee for the victory.

- The Awesome Attraction head out from the locker room to confront the UAS. ER announces these two tag teams will battle for the tag titles at the next Anarchy TV taping. The Attraction offer handshakes and UAS oblige. Nemesis sets up to attack them, but Jackson pulls him back. I smell a heel turn here.

4. Ace Rockwell defeated Chad Parham to become the new NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion.
“An undisclosed sum to you is like a penny to him.” ROTFL~! Rockwell conducts a disgusting act by launching assault on the champ. Parham fleas to ringside and suckers Rockwell in. Rockwell tosses Parham in and discovers plunder. Parham escapes a Rockwell chair smash and wakes him up with a loud chop. Parham tosses Rockwell over the top rope. Rockwell tries to pull a Ricky Steamboat, but Parham waffles him with a sickening chair shot to the back. Parham stakes his claim at ringside and brutally tosses Rockwell into the camera stand. Parham commandeers another chair and plasters Rockwell’s back. Rockwell has to be singing, “Oh, my achy breaky back, my achy breaky back is hurt.” Parham sees Rockwell hasn’t had enough and brutalizes Rockwell’s lacerated dome with another shot. Parham provides a ringside tour before tossing Rockwell back in the ring. Parham smashes Rockwell before ripping off the top turnbuckle padding. Parham continues to methodically dissect Rockwell. Johnson accuses NWA Owner Jerry Palmer of handing Rockwell to someone out of his league. Rockwell fires back with blows to the solar plexus, but Parham makes for Dodge. After commercial, Palmer cuts off Parham at the Pass. Parham backs into Rockwell, but he lands a concussive enziguri. Parham finds plunder in the form of a table. Parham would love to send Rockwell flying through the table, but the Seven Figured Deal counters with a beautifully executed Sunset flip for a near fall. Parham delivers a nasty clothesline. Meanwhile, the Devil’s Rejects & NWA Elite observe from ringside. Even Melissa & Al Getz join the Peanut Gallery. Parham procrastinates and eats a pair of knee on a senton. Slim J heads out as Rockwell rises to his feet. The fans and face wrestlers rally behind Rockwell as he catapults Parham head first on the exposed turnbuckle. Parham takes a dip to take a breather and attempts to walk out the front door! Security prevents his escape. Lucky bastard. Rockwell momentarily dominates Parham in the bleachers. Parham slithers back into the ring and begs for mercy. Rockwell will have none of it as he sports a huge comeback. Parham lands on the table, which collapses under his weight. Rockwell flies over the top rope on Parham. Back in the ring, Parham scores a much needed desperation field goal to buy himself time. Parham calls for the piledriver, but Rockwell collapses. Parham pays him back by mauling him. Rockwell fails to down to the piledriver again, so Parham boots and scorns Rockwell. Rockwell escapes the piledriver and wins with the Ace’s High. Rockwell victoriously poses with his foot firmly places on Parham’s chest.
OVERALL: The Rockwell/Parham feud is nearing completion. Anarchy has milked it for everything its worth and deservedly so. Parham is an awesome chicken nuts heel while Rockwell is an upcoming talent with a great future ahead. Unfortunately, Rockwell’s title reign ended shortly due to an injury. The only negatives I find are Rockwell taking way too many chair shots to be believable and there should have been more focus on celebrating Rockwell’s victory. It was so old school for the major players to watch from ringside, which made this title match feel more important than previous ones. Kudos to Parham for covering up the table spot. This was a good TV match that warrants several viewings.

- Greg Hunter confronts Parham backstage about losing the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title. A befuddled Parham demands a rematch after holding the coveted title for one year.

NWA/GCW SHOW REPORT

Great Championship Wrestling ran their final build up to the Fred Ward Memorial, GCW’s annual tribute to the man that promoted wrestling in Columbus for over 30 years.

It wouldn’t be GCW without some form of controversy, the latest being whether or not GCW had obtained permission to use Ward’s name. According to head honcho Diane Hewes, the Ward family has no problem with GCW honoring Ward. A company official contacted the family, and they have been invited to attend the show.

Saturday night’s show drew 115 to the Gr8 Sk8 Plex in Phenix City, Alabama, which is just across the river from Columbus. It was a solid show. They announced most all of the matches for the big show at the beginning of the month, and spent the last few shows heating up the issues. The crowd was cooking more than two weeks ago, but that still isn’t saying much.

(1) Vordell Walker & Randall Johnson beat Frankie Valentine & Tex Monroe in 9:20.   What has gotten into Vordell? He’s doing this thingyy heel bit weird gay overtones. Whatever is up with Walker, his presence was the singular most interesting thing about the match. Probably not the intended effect, but compared to the other guys, Walker was on an entirely different level as worker. Walker said Monroe was FIPing it up against Johnson. Walker tagged in like he was God’s gift to Phenix City.  Walker gave Monroe a wrestling lesson. Walker used a chokebreaker ala Tank from NWA Anarchy. Monroe did a springboard moonsault legdrop that sounds way better than it looked. Valentine went to town with the hot tag. Valentine pulled the ropes down to dump Walker. But Johnson seized on the opening to pin Valentine with a first-rate version of the Celtic Cross.

Commissioner Bo Oates addressed his problems with Scrappy McGowan. Oates said they were the only two that had direct links to Ward. Oates said McGowan was disrespecting his father, his son (referee Jeff), and the Ward legacy. “You sold out to a guy in a skirt.” Oates proposed a tag match for the Ward Memorial with the commissionership of GCW on the line: McGowan & Cru Jones vs. Oates & John Bogie.

The new GCW Heavyweight Champion, Johnny Swinger came out to badger Oates into revealing the identity of his mystery opponent. Funny stuff from Swinger here. Swinger whined about the unfairness of it all. Swinger wanted to know why some mystery guy was getting a shot after he had to beat 19 guys in a battle royal to earn his shot. Swinger said he wasn’t some semi-pro from Kentucky, he was a genuine superstar. Swinger said Oates gave Scotty Beach tons of time to prepare for a title defense. He accused Oates of having a vendetta against him. Swinger said his opponent better be some guy like Jonathan Davis or Amien Rios that he could beat in one minute. Swinger said the only way he was losing the belt was if O.J. stole it. Swinger was threatening to drop Oates with his finisher when the theme from Rocky played. Swinger said he wasn’t sweating Rocky Balboa. It was GCW owner Diane Hewes that appeared on the ramp. Hewes said she signed the match with the mystery opponent, and it was somebody the fans had been hot to see for a long time.

Out came Sonny Siaki. Hardly any pop at all. But that’s the norm here. I’m guessing a lot of folks weren’t familiar with him, since the last time he worked for GCW, they were still operating out of Columbus. Siaki has grown out his hair since Deep South as part of the shift to babyface. Siaki was born to play a cool heel. What GCW sorely lacks a bonafide, homegrown, white-meat babyface.

(2) John Bogie beat Orion Bishop (with Wicked Nemesis) in 8:23. Bogie goes over clean to avenge a painful DQ win last week. Not one of you better matches. Bogie busts his ass, but his offense just doesn’t cut it. Bishop doesn’t look like much, but he hit a couple of stunningly good moves. Nemesis is a harmless nincompoop pretending at being an evil heel. Bogie hit a push up dropkick to spark an opening flurry. Bishop chickened out. Bishop took over with a fallaway slam. Bishop hit a sweet pumphandle suplex for a near fall. Bishop got frustrated by Bogie’s intestinal fortitude. Bishop got too cocky for his own good. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen the Bogie hot comeback. Bogie won with the quebrada that he always manages to overshoot.

(3) Chris Stevens beat DeathRow after interference by A. J. Steele in 6:33. Death is billed from “The Institute for the Criminally Insane.” He’s got the look and size for the gimmick, and he’s been moving up in class. Stevens got a genuine babyface pop, and those are hard to come by in Phenix City. Death used headbutts to the trapezius muscles. That was different. Key spot was Stevens missing a dive off the middle rope. Death zeroed on the shoulder. A series of flying shoulder blocks by Stevens barely scored a two count. Death applied a sleeper. Steele came to ringside and told ref Randy Ray that Death was choking Stevens. Stevens refused to go to la la land. The finish saw Steele snap Death’s neck off the top rope to make him a sitting duck for Stevens’ neckbreaker. Good execution. Death and Steele screwed each other is similar fashion last week, so the finish made sense. I just wish the opponent had been someone other than Stevens. To me, Stevens is a top babyface who shouldn’t need outside interference to beat a midcard heel.

(4) A. J. Steele beat Thug Rowe in 6:30. Rowe looks like Michael Vick disguised as Mustafah Saed, New Jack’s partner back in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. A fan suggested Rowe could get away with doing a Chihuahua fight in a bathtub.  These are two big guys. Back and forth match. Steele took the fight to Rowe. He tried to cut Steele off with an elbow drop, but Steele outsmarted him. GCW could use more smarts on the babyface side. Steele hit a swinging side slam for a near fall. Rowe responded with a DDT for a near fall. Midair collision of beefy bodyblocks here. Steele crashed an burned on a high crossbody. You think he would have learned. Rowe wisely choked off Steele’s air supply. Both down on a double flying lariat. Steele capped off his comeback with a fireman’s carry dropped into a uranage for the pin.

Ring announcer Billy Roper directed our attention to the big screen for a promo by the former GCW Heavyweight Champion, Scotty Beach. Would somebody please teach this guy how to cut a babyface promo? Beach said he would back on his way after winning the weasel suit match at the Ward Memorial.

Next, we saw a video footage of Bull Buchanan being interviewed by Roper. Buchanan said he was waiting out the 30 days (due to the restraining order) to get his hands on Swinger in the cage at the Ward Memorial. Buchanan said he never liked his former partner, and he was sure the feeling was mutual. Buchanan said he intended to win the GCW “World Championship” and defend it in Japan during his October tour with NOAH.

(5) Shaun Banks & Cru Jones (with Quentin Michaels) beat Bull Buchanan & Scotty Beach in 19:10. Best match of the show. It actually had heat. Presuming that Bad Company beats Naturals at Fred Ward, Banks and Jones are the natural top challengers. They make an awesome heel tag team. Beach definitely turned his intensity dial to the right after losing the heavyweight title. They told the story of that Buchanan and Beach weren’t necessarily on the same page. Banks and Jones brought a red dress to the ring. Beach and Banks wrestled. Good looking stuff. The heels tried to isolate Beach, but Buchanan tagged himself in. Beach wasn’t happy about it. Banks begged for his life. His facial expressions are tremendous, and he sold like he was going die. Just when it appeared Beach and Bull were going to work together, Jones chop blocked Buchanan’s knee to turn the tide. Banks and Jones went all out on Buchanan’s knee. Nice series of hope spots here. At one point, Jones pulled Beach off the apron so there was nobody for Buchanan to tag. Hot tag. Beach gave Jones the Beach Balls. It was time for the moment of truth. Banks escaped a double team. Buchanan pulled up to avoid kicking his partner. They double punched Banks, but Jones surprised Beach with a roll up.

Postmatch beatdown on Beach. Banks hit a Rude Awakening, and they started to put the dress on him. Buchanan came to the rescue. Beach wheeled around to face Michaels, and he got the hell out of there.

(6) Sonny Siaki beat Johnny Swinger (with Quentin Michaels) via countout. Swinger retained the GCW Heavyweight Title (16:56). Siaki got a stronger pop than the first time. It was if the people woke up to the fact that this guy has star presence. Unfortunately, the crowd was relatively dead once the bell rang. Nothing wrong with the work or psychology. Swinger did everything in his power to get Siaki over as a babyface. The early part of the match saw Siaki do the Samoan head-like-a-rock.  Siaki worked on Swinger’s arm until it was hanging limp. Swinger’s desperation led to face biting and groin stomping. Brief “Sonny” chant here. Michaels got involved. Swinger hit a Russian legsweep, and Siaki rolled shoulder just before the three count. Swinger tried a headbutt. Not a good idea. Swinger was bouncing around like crazy for Siaki’s comeback. Siaki mounted the ropes and rained down the 10 punches. Swinger kicked out at two. Swinger ran away from Siaki’s finisher.

As Swinger finished taking the ten count, out came Buchanan to block his path. Swinger invited Buchanan to violate the restraining order. Buchanan restrained himself, but Siaki kicked Swinger’s ass. Swinger ended up running out the front door. Siaki said it felt good to be back in GCW. He said GCW was going back to being the #1 promotion in the South. Buchanan was gimpy from the pounding to his knee. He ordered the cameraman to get a close up of his ugly mug. “Johnny Swinger, I’m not afraid to get a few scars. Can you say the same thing?”

NOTES: The card for the Fred Ward Memorial on September 29 is as follows: Swinger (c) vs. Buchanan inside the six sides of steel for the GCW Title, Naturals (c) vs. Bad Company (Stevens & David Young) in a 2 out of 3 falls match for the GCW Tag Titles, Death Row vs. Steele in an Electric Chair match, Johnson vs. Valentine in a hair match, Banks vs. Beach in a Weasel Suit match, Scrappy McGowan & Jones vs. Oates & Bogie with the commissionership of GCW on the line, and Ring Inspector Chuck vs. Bogie in a Bouncing Boxer’s match…GCW’s television show starts on East Alabama cable channel 7 in an 11am Saturday time slot. It will be a 30 minute show hosted by Michaels & Roper…Diane Hewes said the company is actively planning to run shows in other venues. An announcement about their first show outside Phenix City should be coming shortly.

NWA Wisconsin 9-15 results

The show opened with the "Good Reverend" Ben Johnson
introducing the crowd to his congregation and
informing Nick Colucci that he could still could not
face J-Cash. But if the Cadillac could defeat his
opponent that night that he could have Cash at the
next show. J-Cash also came out and Johnson offered
him the same deal.

Adrian Lynch and Jerry Stylz def. "K-Train" Kody Rice
and Mickey McCoy

McCoy and Rice showed that they are a some of the
hottest up-and-comers in ACW, but the veteran
cheating... I mean accumen of Lynch rolling the small
package of McCoy to give Jerry Stylz the win.

During Jerry's celebration he was interrupted by the
mountain of a man, Markus Maximus. Maximus wanted
Stylz right then and there, but Stylz declined. He
said that he was going to the lockerroom to pick out
an opponent. If Markus could beat that opponent, Jerry
would face him next month. But just then he was
interrupted by Thomas Walton the third. Thomas stated
that he would beat Markus for Stylz free of charge.

Markus Maximus def. Thomas Walton the Third.

To no one's surprise (except Jerry Stylz) Markus
solidly trounced the seventy pound lighter Walton with
a sky high slam.

"Cadillac" Nick Colucci def. Douglas "Do Right"
Peterson.

Showing some excellent ring ability, Douglas showed
that his ACW training can help him hang with some of
the best in the independant scene. But a hellish
lariat took down the youngster Peterson.

After the match the rest of the Congregation came to
the ring to take out their aggression on Peterson.
When Johnson told them that they were done having fun,
C. Martin McClure told him that they had had enough
and Colucci punched out Johnson. J-Cash and the Dream
Police came out to Johnson's rescue and chased off the
Congregation.

The Dream Police def. Chase McCoy and "Tattooed" Mark
Priebe

In a rough and tumble match, the Dream Police danced
their way to victory with a devistating Doomsday
Device.

"Simply Amazing" Justin Dredd def. Bobby V. and Tony
Mega

In an impressive showing from the best the X Divison
has to offer, The Amazing One took out Bobby V. with a
top rope RKO after tossing Mega to the ouside.

J-Cash def. Derek St. Holmes.

A great old school match. Derek almost had the former
ACW champ with a series of leg holds. But the wily
Cash caught St. Holmes with a quick back slide while
members of the Congregation watched from the front
row.

Tejas def. Dysfunction

Well, once the action got into the ring, Dysfunction
put on a clinic of top notch, high impact moves. But
the sturdy Native American warrior, Tejas, hit him
with the Burial Ground to finish off the former ACW
champion.

After the match, the Congregation took to the ring to
congratulate who else but themselves. But their joy
quickly ended with the familiar sound of Danzig filled
the arena and the dark one himself, SAM HAYNE, emerged
from the curtain with Mystique and two unlit torches.
Once the confusion started to fade from the
Congregation, the Reverend Ben Johnson came out from
the curtain and stated: "How do you beat a monster
that you created? You get a bigger, badder, and more
powerful monster. All this is missing is... FIRE!".
Johnson lit Hayne's torches and the Congregation
scattered. Hayne sent his silent but all to clear
message to the Baba Louie's faithful with some
fireballs in the middle of the ring.

Match One
LA Player w/ Syndicate Crew members Psycho Medic,
D’Angelo, & Karnage def The Masked Man Blu. Blu tried
holding his own, but took beating after beating from
LA Player. When Blu started a come back, Psycho Medic
entered the ring and hit Blu with a chain while the
other Crew members had the ref distracted. LA Player
got the pin and the Crew proceeded to beat down the
masked man.

Match Two
The Ice Man Chris Eckos def Michael White w/ Avenger &

Paul Adams
Chris Eckos started out strong by hitting a step up
side kick and then a leg lariat for only a count of 2.
Eckos went for a springboard backflip where Michael
White managed to get out of the way. Michael White got
some cheap shots in then threw Chris to the floor for
Paul Adams and Avenger took turns attacking. Eckos
mounted a comeback with a huge Flatliner. Eckos then
headed to the top rope for the 450 splash when Paul
Adams jumped up on the ring apron to distract the ref
while Avenger pushed Eckos off.. Eckos landed on his
feet, Avenger was still on the apron and grabbed Eckos
under both arms as Michael White came running with a
forearm that missed Eckos but knocked Avenger into the
crowd! As Michael White realized what he had done he
slowly turned around as Eckos was waiting on him with
the Freezing Point Chest cracker for the pin.

Match Three
Antonio Cathey def Mr. Impact JT Quest w/ Xstacy via
DQ. Quest beat Antonio’s back to a point where Cathey
was going to give up. Antonio got the upper hand with
a huge dropkick when all of a sudden Michael White hit
the ring and began a beat down of Antonio. JT Quest
quickly left the building as the referees pulled White
off of Cathey. Mr. Mike Porter made the match for next
week White vs Cathey!

Match Four
SteveO def “Malibu” Matt Boyce via reverse decision.
The back and forth match ended with Boyce using a
small chain to knock SteveO down for the three count.
As Boyce celebrated the ref noticed the chain hanging
out Boyce’s tights. Seeing the chain, ref Jerry
reversed the decision and declared SteveO the winner.

Main Event
Robbie Ruffin & Tommy Capone def The Syndicate Crew
Psycho Medic, Karnage, D’Angelo via pinfall. Capone
got the best of D’Angelo and Psycho Medic in moves and
trash talking. The Crew turned the tide and used their
usual underhanded tactics to beat down Tommy Capone
while Ruffin had to stay on the outside of the ring
and watch. A tag was made and Ruffin cleaned house. He
isolated Psycho Medic hitting a huge neck breaker
followed up by a roll up for the fast pin.

After the match LA Player hit the ring and confronted
Nwa Referee Adam R claiming the ref made a fast count.
After arguing with Mr. Mike Porter, the Crew threw the
referee out of the ring after slapping him around.
Mike Porter sent the Crew out the door to end the
evening. This drama and action will continue in NWA:
Main Event. Come check it out in Columbia, TN next
