Sunday 23rd November 2008 the day I FINALLY met Bret 'The Hitman' Hart

I got to the N.E.C. about 12:10pm and headed for the Memorabilia fair. It had said the photo session with Bret would start at 12:30pm, so I started to queue (it was quite long). We were ushered away as we were taking up space in the venue. I came back at 12:50pm to an even bigger queue, I saw my wrestling mate 'Metro-Sexual' Danny Devine who was beaming after having his Bret Hart sunglasses signed.

I had a quick conversation with Danny whilst in the queue, I bought my photo ticket and waited. Although the queue was seemingly huge it soon decreased in size and about 15 minutes after queuing up I was about to meet my childhood hero! I walked up to Bret and asked him "How are you?" he replied "I'm good, thanks. How are you?" I replied "I'm good also, thanks" we then posed for a photo.

I then told Bret "Your match vs. Mr. Perfect at Summerslam '91 is the reason I'm a fan of Pro Wrestling" Bret replied "That was my first great match". I then asked when the photo would be ready from being processed "about an hour" was the reply. I returned an hour later and picked up my photo, looking on in horror as my hair was sticking up! Surely someone could have told me. GRRRRRRRRRR! hehe. The picture looks really professional, and takes pride blue tacked to my wardrobe.

I hear this might Bret's last appearance in the UK, and I for one am glad I didn't miss it. I hope Bret enjoys his retirement, I guess there is one last thing to say "Thank you Bret".
