Tonight I had the opportunity to meet six WWE legends at a car dealership in Shrewsbury NJ. In conjunction with their Midnight Mania sales event Circle Hyundai held a wrestling themed autograph signing. Appearing thanks to Eric Simms and ESS Promotions were King Kong Bundy, Nikolai Volkoff, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, Marty Jannetty, Tito Santana, and Ray Apollo.
The crowd was very enthusiastic and the staff was extremely friendly. Besides offering photo opportunities and autographs from the superstars there were refreshments and several radio stations were on hand holding drawings for prizes ranging from lottery tickets to water park admissions and tickets to an upcoming WWE show.
I had previously met most of the wrestlers but was able to add Wrestlemania II main eventer King Kong Bundy and Shawn Michaels Midnight Rockers tag team partner Marty Jannetty to my collection. All the talent was very friendly and took a lot of time to interact with the fans. Best part was everything was absolutely free! I was afraid that there would be pressure from the sales staff to purchase a vehicle but that was definitely not the case as the event was to promote the dealership and foster good will with their customers.
