Continental Wrestling Association versus American Wrestling Association

CWA: Cactus Jack (Mick Foley) & Southern tag champions Rock ‘n Roll RPMs (Mike Davis & Tommy Lane) versus AWA: Mondo, Chavo Sr. & Hector Guerrero

Hector forwards rolled Davis into the corner, then dropped down from a charging Davis, who collided with Lane. Hector headlocked over Davis while head scissoring Lane over at the same time. After escaping a sunset flip, Cactus Jack clubbed and threw Mondo out of the ring. Mondo fought back on the outside, and Cactus got back body dropped on the floor by Chavo.

Back in the ring, Hector, Chavo and Mondo took turns having one hold Cactus’ left leg while the other charges on it with an a off the ropes splash. Mondo yanked back on the leg leg with a step over toe hold, then with Hector did a double leg wish bone leg snap. A Lane was arm dragged down and head scissored over by Chavo.

After ducking a double RPM’s clothesline, Chavo knocked both men to the mat with a flying cross body. Hector ran in the ring and splashed both men, then Mondo hopped over the ropes did a double man splash. Cactus ran in, got knocked down by Chavo, then the Guerreros all piled on their downed opponents. In the corner, Cactus kneed and snap marred Chavo into an off the ropes elbow drop. Cactus then backed Chavo into his corner, for double team pummeling by the RPMs.

Chavo would roll away and tag Hector, who flipped into the ring, then delivered drop kicks to Cactus, Lane and Davis. With all men in the ring, Lane held Hector for a Davis clothesline, but Hector escaped for Davis to hit Lane. Hector dropkicked Davis over the top rope, then used the top rope to propel himself to a flying body press down on Davis.

Mondo back drops Cactus to the floor, then climbs the corner for a top rope flying body press down on Cactus. Chavo climbs the top ropes in the corner, then performs a moonsault to Lane, and gets the 1..2..3 count by referee Mike Enos (Blake of the WWF’s Beverly Brothers).

Larry Nelson was at AWA studio with Sensai Pat Tanaka, who was upset about Madusa Miceli slapping him in her match of Madusa & Badd Company (Tanaka & Paul Diamond) against Wendi Richter & Top Guns (Ricky Rice & John Paul).

Ricky Rice then entered the interview to introduce a black wrestler named Derrick "Starfire" Dukes as the new member of Top Guns. Derrick was brought in to replace John Paul, who Rice claimed was put out of wrestling after an attack by Badd Company. Rice was looking for revenge on Badd Company before titles shots, which he predicted Top Guns would be going for after the Guerrero brothers won the tag belts from Badd Company.

After the commercial, Nelson was at AWA studio explaining that AWA president Stanley Blacburn ruled that since Ronnie Garvin looked to have used a foreign object in his win over tv champ Greg Gagne, that a no disqualification match would take place to resolve the dispute over the title.

Greg Gagne versus "Hands of Stone" Ron Garvin for the upheld international television title

Garvin slammed Gagne’s head into top turnbuckle pad, but Gagne returned the favor with a turnbuckle smash. Garvin was Irish whipped into the corner, but dodged a charging Gagne, who crashed into the corner. After escaping a head twist and back rakes by Garvin, Gagne struck back with chops and a back body drop. Garvin would headbutt out of Gagne’s wristlock, then was nearly taken over by Gagne’s sunset flip, until he stopped the move’s completion with a right fist.

Garvin sat on Gagne’s chest for the pin cover, and was rolled over for a Gagne pin attempt. Commentator Lee Marshall mentioned that Gagne was famous for using his father’s sleeperhold. Marshall said that Garvin was known for knocking out Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair with one punch. Wrestling legend Ray "The Crippler" Stevens said that he heard Garvin’s punch is like being hit by a mule kick.

Stevens and Marshall were amazed that Gagne was stilling while he and Garvin exchanged of fists. Garvin knocked Gagne to the corner, then delivered punches as he stood on the middle rope. Gagne backed Garvin to the opposite corner with chops, before delivering punches while standing on the middle rope. Gagne escaped an inside cradle pin after missing a dropkick. Garvin slowly fell backwards over the top rope when catching Gagne in a body press.

Garvin slammed Gagne’s head into a table, traded slaps, and was shoved into the steel post when attempting to headlock ram Gagne to the poll. Gagne return to the ring, referee Marty Miller’s count was up to 9, and Garvin was counted out in a match that was just under six minutes. Gagne was awarded the International TV title, as AWA president Blackburn stipulated that any type of win would count in earning the title.

Garvin snuck back in, applied the sleeperhold, but Garvin hit his head on the turnbuckle when Gagne rushed to the corner. Gagne then applied his famous sleeperhold, but released it when Garvin shoved down the referee. Garvin fled the ring, and Gagne held up the belt handed to him by ref Miller.

At AWA studio, Verne Gagne told Nelson that Greg was determined and that he was delighted that his son won the title he really wanted. Nelson asked about a rematch between Jerry Lawler and Kerry Von Erich where there was no decisive victory due to Kerry sustaining a deep lacerations.

Verne said that a rematch was being asked for before Kerry even got stitched up, and that Lawler said at the time to talk to him later about it. Verne went on to thank the people who helped make Super Clash III happen, adding that he felt it was the best event that he’s been involved with.

Stud Stable (Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden, accompanied by Sylvia) versus Rock ‘n Roll
Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson)

Sylvia walked the ring with a kendo stick and yelled to ref Enos "Don’t cheap these boys, these are your next champions!" Morton bridged out of Golden’s back drop pin, and gut wrench suplex into a pin attempt. Fuller ran in to stomp, but Morton moved, causing Fuller to hit Golden. Morton corner whipped Golden into a Gibson punch, then corner whipped Fuller into a seated Golden. Fuller and Golden left the ring to talk over their next moves.

On his return, Fuller and Gibson criss cross the ropes, until Golden landed a kick. Fuller knocked Gibson from the ring, then Fuller threw the returning Gibson into Golden’s boot. After a hip toss, Golden worked on Gibson back further with a bear hug until Gibson escaped with a forehead bite. Golden hammered Gibson in the corner, and when ref Eno’s attentions were on Morton, Golden tossed Gibson over the top rope. This would have been an automatic disqualification by AWA rules.

Without even a second of mercy, Sylvia struck Gibson’s back five times with the bamboo stick, while Enos backed off Morton. Golden applied an abdominal stretch to the returning Gibson, with a pulling assist by Fuller on the apron. Golden got punted down when lowering his head too soon for the back drop, and a tagged Morton landed multiple fist that knocked down Fuller and Golden. Gibson planted a flying fist from middle ropes in the corner on that took a standing Golden to one knee. Morton punched Fuller out of the ring, before he and Gibson whipped Golden in for their double dropkick finisher.

Gibson punched a re-entering Fuller out of the ring, when he broke up the pin with a stomp.
Golden stomped Morton, as Gibson shoved Fuller to the steel post, when he attempted to ram Gibson into it. Enos signaled for the bell, disqualifying both teams for their uncontrolled behavior in this little over seven minute match. Morton flew off the ring apron with a flying fist, breaking up Morton and Fuller’s double team on Gibson. The Rock ‘n Roll Express would win in exchange of fist, that has Fuller, Golden and Sylvia flee to the locker room.

Nelson gave a post Super Clash III interview with "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez who said that although Wahoo McDaniel won in the battle, that like in Saigon, he wouldn’t quit, and challenged Wahoo to a Mexican death match. Nelson looked very curious, and when he approached to ask, Fernandez went on to say that he would be after McDaniel.

Then Wahoo gave a solo comment, saying that he respected Manny’s service in Viet Nam, adding that he knows Fernandez is tough. McDaniel said that he didn’t know if this would ever be settled, but said that the smoke was likely to thicken in the coming year.

Sgt. Slaughter versus Col. DeBeers (accompanied by Diamond Dallas Page) in a boot camp match main event

Nelson said that Sarge requested this match to AWA president Blackburn after being attacked by DeBeers in a six man tag match. Announcer Gary Michael Cappetta explained that a boot camp has the referee outside the ring, only to enter to count a pin or check a submission. Page waved the South African flag, then grabbed the mic to announce his man DeBeers at 132 kilos, and proclaiming that "you’re about to be striped of your stripes, private Slaughter!"

DeBeers was knocked down after amny fists from Slaughter. The Sarge Irish whipped DeBeers into a Slaughter Cannon (clothesline) that had DeBeers fall on Sarge’s helmet. Lee Marshall explained that anything brought into a boot camp match can be used by the participants. DeBeers quickly came back to nail Sarge in the mid section with the helmet, then DeBeers removed his belt to choke down Slaughter.

Sarge came back from DeBeer’s punches and stomps with a kick to a snap mare and stomp. Slaughter landed a punch before throwing DeBeers over the top rope. After kicking out of Sarge’s floor pin attempt, DeBeers picked up a metal post that was used to rope off the ringside, and smashed Sarge with it. Page handed DeBeers the helmet Sarge wore, and DeBeers pick it on and rammed into Sarge’s mid section. Page got to the apron and held Sarge in the ropes, but when DeBeers charged, Sarge moves and DeBeers knocked Page to the floor with helmeted mid section butt.

Sarge Slaughter Cannoned DeBeers down, and retrieved his helmet. Sarge landed four helemted headbutts that had DeBeers flying backwards to the mat. Sarge signaled for his Cobra Clutch finisher, stomped Page back down, and applied the hold. As Sarge brought DeBeers down to one knee, Page waved for help. The referee signaled the bell as Sheik Adnan El Kassey came to the ring with a forearm attack. Sarge released DeBeers, Slaughter Cannoned down Sheik Adnan, then punched Page down. Sarge then procured the Cobra Clutch on Sheik Adnan.

Page waved for more help as DeBeers slammed helmet on Sarge, releasing Adnan. The Iron Sheik ran to the ring and proceeded to stomp on a downed Slaughter with DeBeers. Iron Sheik jams a blunt object to Sarge’s forehead, then incoming ref Enos is hit with it, before Iron Sheik tosses him over the ropes. DeBeers’ group attack Sarge with fists and boots, as Iron Sheik open Sarge up with the foreign object.

Mondo, Hector and Chavo Guerrero Sr knock away DeBeer’s men, and Chavo is knocked away when he approaches Sarge. Then Sarge jumped over the top rope, attacking the Iron Sheik. Hector raised Sarge’s hand as Mondo restrained him. This match concluded before the six minute point.

Nelson interviewed Iron Sheik and Sheik Adnan afterwards, and Adnan said that Iron Sheik was his surprise. Iron Shiek said that "Intelligent American people know the history of Iron Sheik and Sgt. Slaughter", Iron Sheik then said that he knew Sarge had a lot of support of the American people, but his support from Allah was greater, as Adnan smile and nodded.

Sarge then gave a solo commentary, stating that he thought the Sheiks and DeBeers were tough, but blind side instead of facing him. Sarge said thay just proves them to be maggots, scum and slime. Sarge challenged them to sign on the dotted line and they will be "dismissed permanently!"
