June 21st aired a 1988 episode of Verne Gagne’s AWA All-Star Wrestling from Nashville, Tennessee.

 

 Alan Reynolds versus Colonel DeBeers

 

DeBeer’s manager Diamond Dallas Page took the microphone to say that he wasn’t issuing a warning, but stating a fact that DeBeers' opponents will be leaving horizontal on a stretcher. The Diamond Dolls Jennifer and Torrie carried a stretcher overhead. Page said that it won’t be battle, it will be war when DeBeers faces Sgt. Slaughter.

 

DeBeers punished Reynolds with forearms, knees and stomps. Reynolds grabbed DeBeers’ foot in an attempted kick, and Reynolds was dropped with an enzuigiri. DeBeers brought Reynolds down with a hair pull. DeBeers positioned Reynolds in front of him, as DeBeers came off the middle rope in the corner with a knee to the back.

 

DeBeers covered but picked Reynolds up from the pin at the 2 count. DeBeers stepped on Reynolds, then gave him a forward drop piledriver. DeBeers stepped on Reynold, and the referee counted 3. This match was under three minutes. Reynolds was unable to get up, so he was taken back to the locker room on the stretcher that the Diamond Dolls brought to the ring.

 

 

Ray Odyssey & Shaun Baxter versus Samoan SWAT Team

 

The SST¢s came to the ring to Bobby McFerrin’s "Don’t Worry, Be Happy" song. The SST’s huddled with their manger Buddy "Jack" Roberts for their hand ritual. Baxter twirls his finger near his head to signal that the SST¢s are nuts, and with his partner, gets the fans to clap. Baxter dodges from Samu in the corner. Samu misses a clothesline, Baxter is caught in a flying cross body attempt and body slammed.

 

Samu dropkicks down Odyssey, then slams him with a gutwrench suplex. After Fatu is tagged, both SSTs punch Odyssey in the corner. Odyssey is suplexed, clotheslined, then slammed into Samu’s head. Both SST¢s double headbutt down Odyssey, then a tagged Samu delivers an uppercut chop. Odyssey is superkicked down, then whipped down in a hair pull. Samu DDTs, then tags Fatu to double clothesline down Odyssey.

 

Fatu back suplexes Odyssey, who is able to kick out of the pin at 2. Fatu applies a nerve hold to Odyssey’s shoulder. Odyssey elbows to an escape but falls back. Fatu delivers a flying headbutt from the middel rope, then tags in Samu, as the SSTs unleash a double superkick. Odyssey is back suplexed from the top turnbuckle, then dragged by Samu, who tags in Fatu for the flying Superfly press. This earns SSTs the victory. SSTs then double headbutt Baxter out of the ring.  

 

Terry Adonis versus AWA world champion Jerry "The King" Lawler

 

This is a replay of the match that aired on June 18th. Adonis backed Lawler to the corner, looked to be making a clean break but then clubbed Lawler with a forearm. Former AWA champion Verne Gagne said that Lawler's tremendous endurance reminded him of a past AWA champion in Nick Bockwinkel. Commentator Lee Marshall said that he admired Lawler for not being a company champion when he won the AWA world championship.

 

Lawler chased Adonis around the ring, then backed him to the corner, landing forearm club, then knocking Adonis down with the fist. Lawler Irish whipped Adonis for a clothesline, then took Adonis down with a suplex. Lawler ascended to the top ropes in the croner, knocking Adonis down with a flying fist. Lawler then delivered a driving fist drop, gaining the 3 count victory. The ring announcer said the match was 1 minute and 53 seconds as Lawler his AWA world title high to the crowd cheers.

 

 

Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden of the Stud Stable versus Brickhouse Brown & "Superstar" Bill Dundee.

 

The Stud Stable entered the ring with "Downtown" Bruno (WWF/WWE¢s Harvey Wippleman) and their caretaker Sylvia to Bon Jovi’s "You Give Love a Bad Name" After Brown and Dundee get to the ring, Brickhouse Brown dances on the outside. Golden elbowed out Brown’s waistlock. Brown reversed the corner whip to back body drop Golden. Brown dances again after dropping Golden and Fuller from the ring.

 

Golden rolls in and out of the ring quick to restart the count, and buy more time to regroup. Golden gets on knee and extends for a handshake. Brown punches Golden into the corner, then atomic drops, as Dundee atomic drops Fuller, causing the Stud Stable to collide.

 

Golden is whipped down in the corner and stomped by Dundee. Then Brown Irish whips Fuller into Golden. On the ring apron, Golden is clocked by Dundee. Fuller punches back on Dundee. Brown corner whips Golden for a boot shot. Golden is brought to his knees in Dundee’s wristlock. Golden is whipped to the ropes, Brown ducks down, and Golden collides with Fuller. Dundee covers and gets a 2 count.

 

Golden yanks Dundee’s wrist over his shoulder, then Fuller slams Dundde’s arm against the ring apron. Golden hits Dundee as Fuller holds him. Dundee is brought to the mat by Golden’s hammerlock. Fullers then slams Dundee’s arm again on the apron. Fuller accidently grabs Golden’s arm and yanks it over his shoulder. Fuller enters the ring to threaten Dundee, then goes to console Golden. Golden asks Dundee to back up, then kicks him and throws Dundee to the floor. Sylvia nails Dundee in the back with a kendo stick.

 

Brown enters, knocking down both Stud Stable. Dundee knocks down Bruno and throws him into Golden. Brown gets a flying body press on Fuller, but Sylvia hits Brown with a kendo stick, ending the match by disqualification. Cactus Jack attacks Brown, then Jeff Jarrett enters to knock down The Stable and Jack.

 

"Gorgeous" Gary Young enters and attacks Jarrett, which causing "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant to enter and clear the ring of the Stud Stable and their friends. Lee Marshall gets comments by Dundee, who says that he will fight fire with fire and wanted the "Stinkin" Stud Stable anywhere. Valiant is shown kissing a fan.  

 

Top Guns (Ricky Rice & Jon Paul) with the Rock N¢ Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) with Jeff Jarrett versus AWA tag team champions Badd Company (Paul Diamond & Sensai Pat Tanaka) with Rock N¢ Roll RPMs (Tommy Lane & Mike Davis) with Cactus Jack.

 

Cactus shoves off Rice, complaining to the referee that Rice is oiled up. Rice reverses a wristlock, then Cactus clubs him into the corner. Cactus reverses a corner whip and jams himself into the corner, when Rice moves. A tagged Paul elbows and rolls over Cactus with an arm grapevine. A tagged Morton lands a punch, then a hip toss, before holding Cactus for a tagged Gibson knee.

 

Cactus was hit with a dropkick, then a tagged Jarrett helps Gibson with a double dropkick. Jarrett covers and gets a 2. After a Jarrett arm drag, Cactus clubs and body slams him. A tagged Lane is arm dragged down, then Jarrett punches down all his opponents on the ring apron. Lane backs Jarrett back for clubs by Davis. Jarrett arm drags a tagged Tanaka, then a tagged Morton punches Tanaka, but Tanaka fired back in the corner. Morton reverses the Irish whip in the corner, and clotheslines down Tanaka.

 

A tagged Gibson catches Tanaka in an enzuigiri, and covers for the count of 2, before Diamond kicks Gibson off the cover. A tagged Jarrett punches Tanaka, but is dropped in a collision. Jarrett leap frogs over Tanaka twice, before punching him down. A tagged Diamond lands a knee to the gut, and a turnbuckle smash. From a different corner, Jarrett blocks Diamond turnbuckle smash, and smashes Diamond to the turnbuckle.

 

All of Jarrett’s partners on the apron take turns punching Diamond, with Morton knocking down Diamond. Jarrett lands a dropkick, Morton a punch, Gibson a DDT, and Morton suplexes and covers for 2. Morton holds Diamond for Paul¢’ punch, and Paul reverses Diamond’s whip, causing Diamond to knock into an incoming Tanaka.

 

Tanaka whips Paul into Lane’s strike, then a tagged Davis back body drops Paul. Davis lands a sidewalk slam backbreaker. A tagged Cactus kicks, punches and dropkicks. Paul catches a tagged Diamond for a sunset flip for 2. A tagged Davis lands a leg drop, and Tanaka gets a 2 count after a superkick.

 

Paul knocks down Tanaka, makes a tag to Gibson, who whips Tanaka into Diamond. Gibson misses a dropkick on Tanaka, and Tanaka drops Gibson with a body tackle. Morton kicks Tanaka off the pin attempt. Now all participants are in the ring, and fight to the floor. Tanaka is whipped to the ropes, is tripped by Morton on the outside, and Gibson covers for the 3. This match was over ten minutes.
