WWE RAW Opener:

RAW opened up with a look at last week’s show with Umaga overcoming Shawn Michaels with help of the McMahon’s. Vince then laid a beat down on Michaels, and announced that this week on RAW, Triple H will be facing Umaga. We are then welcomed live to Memphis, with shots of Graceland. The McMahon’s are then shown backstage dressed as Elvis. They say they left Michaels “All Shook Up”. They talked about Triple H “Dancing to the Jailhouse Rock", and Shawn was crying at the “Heartbreak Hotel". McMahon said tonight, Elvis is going to be very cruel, because tonight Triple H faces Umaga. They then sang “Hound Dog”. McMahon then took off his glasses and said Elvis has left the building. The fireworks then went off in the arena as Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcomed us to RAW.

Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James (c)

The music of Trish Stratus hit in the arena as she made her way to the ring and last week in tag team action, Stratus pinned the Women’s Champion, Mickie James, which has earned her this title shot here tonight.

The match:

Trish and Mickie locked up and then the music of Edge hit out nowhere as he made his way down to the ring as the WWE Champion, with Lita. Edge said to stop the damn match, and stop the show. He is sick of taking a back seat. He is the WWE Champion, so Mickie hit the bricks, this match is officially over.

Winner - No Contest

The Aftermath:

Edge said as of right now, he is taking over RAW. He said he wants Trish to stay and hear this. He wants the world to hear that he is a two time WWE Champion, and he is sick of getting no respect around here. Do the people think it’s fair that he has to defend the title against Cena at SummerSlam, in his hometown of Boston? They must think it’s fair that if he gets disqualified, he will lose the title. Edge said it is not fair. He has to put up with more crap than any champion in the history of the WWE and he is sick of it. Let’s take a look at the SummerSlam promotional poster…the poster appears on the Tron and it has DX holding hot dogs, and look, it has the challenger, John Cena and of course, he’s looking like a complete idiot. Even Trish is on the poster, and Batista is even on there, just in case he gets injured again. Edge thought surely they would make it up to him, and he’d be on the cover of the new WWE magazine. He heard a rumor that it was someone from Toronto and blonde. We see the magazine, and Trish is on the cover. Edge said he has been bypassed by someone who hasn’t won a match in a year, but unlike Trish, he is a winner and he will prove it at SummerSlam when he beats Cena. Lita got the mic and said that maybe Edge’s problem is having to take a back seat to a no talent slut like Trish. Lita said she wanted to remove the trash from the ring. Trish nailed Lita and then Edge grabbed her. Lita then hit a spear on Trish and laughed. Edge then set up for the a spear on Trish but Carlito hit the ring and nailed Edge with right hands. Carlito kicked Edge out of the ring and Lita threw Trish into Carlito. Edge then got back in the ring and nailed Carlito with the spear.

In the arena:

The music of John Cena hit in the arena as he made his way down to the ring. Cena grabbed the mic and said he knows everyone is all riled up tonight, and he is too. He has to be honest, this Edge guy, he just doesn’t like him. He comes out here saying he wants more respect. Cena said that Edge is the WWE Champion, life isn’t that bad. Cena said Edge was supposed to be all over the SummerSlam poster, but they found out that his face scares children. Lita was meant to be all over the SummerSlam poster too, but she got that deal with 7/11 where every person in the world will see the poster “Slurpies or Herpies, you can’t stop it, you can only suppress it”. Cena said the Trish cover is smoking, and Edge shouldn’t complain. He said Edge has the privilege to be on the cover of CBI…Crying Bitch Illustrated. A shot of the magazine is then shown on the Tron. Cena said he is glad SummerSlam is in his hometown, but he’d be glad if it was in Edge’s hometown, and he’d love it to be in Memphis. Cena said that instead of coming out here and running your mouth like a little bitch, if you want respect, get your ass out here and earn it. Jonathan Coachman then made his way to the stage. Coach said that Edge will not be coming out here to answer his challenge tonight, and that is because Edge is already in a match tonight. He said that Edge will be teaming up with Lita tonight to take on Carlito and Trish Stratus. Coach said it’s obvious that Cena is hungry for some action, and he has personally found an opponent, who is hungry all the time. Viscera’s music then hit as he made his way down to the ring.

In the arena:

Jim Ross is shown, and he is flying solo as Lawler is preparing for his match with Randy Orton tonight.

Backstage:

We go to Todd Grisham for an update on Hulk Hogan. Grisham said that Hogan has a torn meniscus in his right knee. Grisham brings in Randy Orton. Orton said that Hogan is trying to get out of the match because Orton would destroy him. Orton said if Hogan heals up in time for SummerSlam, his legend is going to be killed.

In the arena:

Ric Flair makes his way to the ring with a book in his hand, and it seems to be a copy of Foley’s book. Flair takes the mic and said for those of us who don’t know, John Cena gave Memphis a plug and you deserve it, but Ric Flair was born in Memphis. Flair said he is out here because he spent a week, actually, ten years, trying to figure out how to make Mick Foley stand up and be a man. He wants to know what makes Mick Foley tick. He doesn’t want to be like Foley, dress like him or look like him. He just wants him at SummerSlam. Someone said to Flair for him to read Foley’s book, “Foley is Good”. Flair throws down the book and stomps on, and then gives it a knee drop. Flair said that is what he thinks of Foley’s book. Flair tore it up and tossed it into the crowd. Flair said there was one page. He said that Foley is a fan of Ric Flair. He said he idolizes the Nature Boy. On page 169, it says Foley’s top ten wrestling matches. Number one is Terry Funk vs. Ric Flair, I Quit. Flair said it wasn’t a Mankind stunt fest; it was the Nature Boy and Terry Funk. Flair said there has to be one of two reasons why he won’t wrestle Flair. He can’t beat him and is afraid to find out, or he knows he can’t beat him already. Mick Foley then made his way to the stage. Foley said Flair is right; his dirty little secret is out in public. He idolized Ric Flair; he was a Nature Boy fan. The I Quit Match with Funk was the greatest match he’d ever seen, and Ric Flair was a better wrestler than he ever was. Foley said that he hates Flair worse than any man he has ever met in this business, but they both know that if you put Flair and Foley together in the ring, all of a sudden, SummerSlam has it’s real main event. It would be a match for the ages…it would be violent, wild and intense. It would put the name of Ric Flair right on top of the mountain where it belongs, and Foley cannot allow that to happen.

Twelve years ago, Flair was in charge of Foley’s career. Flair had the chance to make Foley’s dreams come true, and Flair stepped on them. Twelve years later, the only guy standing between Flair and his dreams is Foley. He made a vow in 1994 that he would never do a damn thing to help Flair out, and the match isn’t going to happen. Life’s a big negotiation and Foley has all the cards. Foley said his contract states he will wrestle who he wants, where he wants, and he won’t waste a match on a piece of crap like Flair. Unless Flair comes back with something more than a match, then Flair, McMahon and the fans can kiss his ass. Flair said for Foley to be a man for one more day in his life. Is he going to walk away from the legendary king of hardcore career that he has built for 20 years? Is he going to walk away from everything the WWE affords guys like them? Flair said that he is going to rewrite history and make the greatest hardcore match in history and it will involve him. He said that Foley needs to be a man and wrestle Flair at SummerSlam. Foley said he made that vow when Flair was ruining his life, and he is going to make some new vows right now. For embarrassing him last week on RAW, he’d kick his ass. For disrespecting Melina last week, he’ll kick his teeth in. For making him realise that the man he looked up to was a piece of crap, then he’ll take him on in an I Quit Match at SummerSlam. If he wants to find out why Foley is a hardcore legend, then it will be him and Flair in an I Quit Match at SummerSlam. Flair is pleased and Foley asked for the music to stop. Foley said he wants Flair to understand one thing. In a career filled with great matches, this match may be the greatest of them all, and may be his last…you washed up piece of crap. Flair said for one of them to bleed to death in Boston.

Referee: Unknown

Lawler again came back with a slap and then Orton raked the eyes and hit a standing dropkick. Orton nailed a series of right hands on Lawler and then locked in a rear choke. Lawler fought out with elbows and then nailed left hands and big time right. Lawler hit a slam and then signalled for the first drop. Lawler went to the second rope and dived off but Orton moved. Orton went for the RKO but Lawler shoved him off into the referee. Orton then hit a low blow and the RKO for the win.

Jeff Hardy:

A video package aired with the highlights of Jeff Hardy, and he will be returning to the WWE soon!

Diva Search:

The Diva’s are in the ring with Mike Mizanin, dancing around like idiots. We have Jen, Layla, Erica, Milena and JT. Miz said one of them did not get enough votes to move on, and one of them will be eliminated tonight. Erica is eliminated. Miz said he has a surprise, because their night is not over. We’re going to play diss the Diva, and that’s going to happen in a few moments. Each will have twenty seconds to say why they are better than the others. We start with Jen. She says she is agile like a cat and purr’s like a kitten. The others are alright, but this kitty got bite. Layla is next. Layla says that these girls have nothing on her. She has more ass, and she will lay everyone out and they can kiss her ass. Milena is next, and she takes Martial Arts, and what you see is what you get. She knows what she is doing in the ring, and wants to earn our respect. Last up is JT. She said that she is perfect for this job. She said she is ready to go and doesn’t need to dress up in glitz and glam. How lame can this get each week? Damn.
